Claim 1: A method for the production of a structural construction panel, the method comprising the steps of: placing in a mold, spaced cover sheets to form a cavity between them; introducing into the cavity a cementitious fluid core material to form, after curing, a light core panel, characterized by the method in which the cementitious fluid core material includes at least one partially water soluble cellulosic polymer adapted to retain moisture in the cementitious core material in a region adjacent to the inner surfaces of the cladding sheets to reinforce a bond between the core and the cladding sheets by controlling the rate of hydration of the cement particles in the region.
