Abstract
Métodos que permiten modificar plantas de Oryza sativa y semillas de las mismas para que expresen una region de codificacion de interés usando una secuencia promotora ligada operativamente a dicha region de codificacion. La secuencia promotora es la secuencia aislada del promotor de antiquitina de Oryza sativa (OsAnt1) que incluye la SEQ ID N°:1. La region de codificacion de interés puede codificar una proteína de utilizacion de nitrogeno, convenientemente la alanina aminotransferasa. También se ofrecen métodos para desarrollar plantas de Oryza sativa que tienen una mayor biomasa y rendimiento de semillas. Además se pueden producir plantas de Oryza sativa capaces de mantener el rendimiento deseado al mismo tiempo que permiten reducir la necesidad de aplicar niveles altos de nitrogeno.
