Abstract
Aparato para la inspeccion del contorno de la pared lateral de un recipiente (30) que incluye por lo menos una fuente de luz (32 o 66) para dirigir la energía luminosa sobre la pared lateral del recipiente y por lo menos un sensor de luz (38 o 72) colocado para recibir energía luminosa de la fuente de luz reflejada desde la pared lateral del recipiente. El sensor de luz es sensible a dicha luz reflejada y proporciona senales indicatorias de posicion de la pared lateral del recipiente en relacion al sensor en por lo menos dos ubicaciones (54, 56, 58) de la pared lateral del recipiente separadas una de la otra en la direccion del eje del recipiente. Un procesador de informacion (40) sensible a dichas senales determina el contorno de la pared lateral del recipiente como funcion de las posiciones de la pared lateral en dichas ubicaciones. Las por lo menos dos ubicaciones en la pared lateral del recipiente están preferentemente alineadas nominalmente una con la otra en una direccion paralela al eje del recipiente. Una de las ubicaciones (54 o 58) en la pared lateral del recipiente es preferentemente adyacente a la parte superior del recipiente o la parte inferior del recipiente, y otra de las ubicaciones (56) se encuentra en la pared lateral del recipiente entre la parte superior del recipiente y la parte inferior del recipiente.
