Abstract
Se revelan un método y aparato para las estaciones (EST) de rendimiento alto (RA). En una configuracion, un preámbulo de herencia de capa física (CF) transmitido por una EST se decodifica por otra EST que no usa un preámbulo de herencia. En otra configuracion, una EST es identificada por otra EST utilizando bits en el preámbulo de un paquete para indicar que el tipo físico será utilizado en la parte restante del paquete. En otra configuracion, una EST envía mensajes de listo para enviar (LPE)/despejado para enviar (DPE) o DPE a sí mismo para reservar un medio en presencia de otra EST de un tipo diferente de aquel de la primera EST. Aun en otra configuracion, un punto de acceso (PA) transmite una baliza o un mensaje de asociacion que incluye un elemento de informacion (EI) de capacidad que indica la operacion o apoyo para un preámbulo de herencia, preámbulos de estacion (EST) de RA y una transmision por paquetes de control de acceso al medio (CAM) con mecanismos de proteccion de RA.
