Abstract
Se divulgan un procedimiento y un aparato para producir hierro. El procedimiento incluye un paso de reduccion directa de pasar un gas reductor a través de un lecho de a) un material que contiene hierro, tal como un mineral en trozos tabulares, y b) un material que forma el lecho, y producir un material de hierro reducido. El material que forma el lecho es un material que facilita la formacion del lecho de modo que hay un flujo hacia arriba optimo de un gas reductor a través del lecho. El procedimiento también incluye separar el material de hierro reducido y el material que forma el lecho. El material que forma el lecho puede ser usado nuevamente en el paso de reduccion directa. Reivindicacion 23: Una planta para producir hierro a partir de un material que contiene hierro, que incluye: a) una planta para reducir el material de alimentacion que contiene hierro y formar un material de hierro reducido pasando un gas reductor hacia arriba a través de un lecho del material de alimentacion y un material que forma el lecho (como se describe en la presente); y b) un aparato para separar el material de hierro reducido y el material que forma el lecho descargado del aparato de reduccion.
