Abstract

Proceso para seguridad y productividad mejoradas cuando se inicia la recuperacion de petroleo a partir de un reservorio subterráneo mediante un proceso de combustion in situ ôtoe-to-heelö que emplea pozos de produccion horizontal, comprendiendo los pasos de: proveer por lo menos un pozo de inyeccion para inyectar un gas oxidante en el reservorio subterráneo; proveer por lo menos un pozo de produccion que posee un tramo sustancialmente horizontal y u pozo de produccion sustancialmente vertical conectado al mismo, en donde el tramo sustancialmente horizontal se extiende hacia el pozo de inyeccion, y en donde el tramo horizontal posee una porcion de talon en la cercanía de su conexion al pozo de produccion vertical y una porcion de punta en el extremo opuesto del tramo horizontal, en donde la porcion de punta está más cerca al pozo de inyeccion que la porcion de talon; inyectar el gas oxidante a través del pozo de inyeccion para conducir la combustion in situ, de modo que los gases de combustion se producen para hacer que los gases de combustion avancen progresivamente como un frente, sustancialmente perpendicular al tramo horizontal, en la direccion desde la porcion de punta a la porcion de talon del tramo horizontal, y los fluidos drenan dentro del tramo horizontal; proveer un tubo dentro del pozo de produccion para inyectar vapor, agua o gas no oxidante dentro de la porcion de tramo horizontal de dicho pozo de produccion; inyectar un medio seleccionado entre el grupo de medios que comprende vapor, agua o gas no oxidante, dentro de dicho tubo de modo que dicho medio sea transportado cerca de dicha porcion de punta de dicho tramo horizontal vía dicho tubo; y recuperar hidrocarburos en el tramo horizontal del pozo de produccion desde dicho pozo de produccion.
