Each of the compartments can be formed with a separate piece of cardboard. The die-cut pieces are folded to form the compartments and then the lower compartment adheres to the upper compartment in a way that allows the lower compartment to be separated later from there torn along a hole once the lower compartment has been emptied. A cover tab can be used in the upper compartment to keep the package in a compact and closed position, folding the compartments so that they face each other and inserting one end into a receiving slot formed in the rear panel of the lower compartment. Once the lower compartment of the upper compartment is separated, the same cover tab can be used to close the remaining package by inserting the same end of the cover tongue into a receiving slot formed in a front panel of the upper compartment. The cover tongue can be asymmetric.
