Abstract

A drive shaft supports the rotor to rotate the rotor eccentrically inside the chamber so that the vertices continuously sweep the inner wall thus creating cavities between each lobe and the inner wall of successively increasing and decreasing volumes. The spaced inlet and exhaust ports allow the supply and discharge of fluid into the cavities. The rotor is supported to rotate eccentrically on the drive shaft by means of an alternate block and groove assembly and a second support means that causes a rotor center to follow a circular orbit in the chamber.
