Abstract

Fibras de pulpa adecuadas para formar un producto de papel colocado en húmedo el cual incluye una funcionalidad amino el cual no puede extraerse en una fase acuosa. Las fibras de pulpa pueden ser preparadas mediante la aplicación del aditivo amino-funcional a un tejido fibroso antes de la operación de terminación en un molino de pulpa. El tejido fibroso puede entonces ser reducido a pulpa nuevamente en una máquina para hacer papel para formar un tejido de papel el cual incluye las fibras amino-funcionalizadas de la presente invención. Un tejido de papel formado de las fibras amino-funcionalizadas puede exhibir una reactividad única y/o mejorada hacia ciertos aditivos para hacer papel. Por ejemplo, los tejidos de papel de la invención descrita pueden mostrar aumentos en la resistencia a la tensión en seco de más del 40% cuando se tratan con un agente de resistencia a la humedad permanente tal como un agente de resistencia a la humedad de poliamina apiclorihidrina mientras que un tejido de papel que no incluye las fibras de un 20% de aumento en propiedades de resistencia cuando se trata con los mismos agentes de resistencia.
