Abstract

Un método y un aparato que utilizan la vibracion de ondas de flexion para calcular informacion referente a un contacto sobre un dispositivo sensible al contacto (10). El método comprende las etapas de proporcionar un elemento, en el dispositivo sensible al contacto, capaz de soportar ondas de flexion; proporcionar medios unidos al elemento para medir la propagacion de ondas de flexion en el elemento y para determinar una senal medida de ondas de flexion; y procesar la senal medida de ondas de flexion para calcular informacion referente al contacto. El dispositivo sensible al contacto (10) puede comprender una placa transparente sensible al tacto (12) dispuesta enfrente de un dispositivo de visualizacion de datos (14). Un punzon o estilete (18) en forma de un bolígrafo puede ser usado para describir un texto (20) u otra materia sobre la placa sensible al tacto (12). La placa transparente sensible al tacto (12) puede ser también un dispositivo acustico capaz de soportar la vibracion de ondas de flexion. En la placa (12) están dispuestos tres transductores (16). Al menos dos de los transductores (16) son transductores sensores o sensores y, de este modo, son sensibles a la vibracion de las ondas de flexion en la placa y controlan dicha vibracion.
