Abstract
Se describe una composicion de polímero aromático de monovinilideno de alto impacto, retardadora de flama que comprende cantidades adecuadas y suficientesde un polímero aromático de monovinilideno modificado con hule, una resina de éter de polifenile no, un compuesto de fosforo, y una cantidad opcional de resinade fenol/aldehido como un substituto parcial para la resina de éter de polifenileno, dicha composicion está clasificada en V-2, V-1, V-0 o 5V en la prueba deinflamabilidad de Underwriters Laboratories Standard 94. Más particularmente, la presente proporciona una composicion de polímero aromático de monovinilidenode alto impacto, retardadora de flama la cual puede ser procesada fácilmente, que comprende: (A) de 40 a 85 por ciento, con base en el peso total de dichacomposicion, de un polímero aromático de monovinilideno modificado con hule; (B) de 10 a 40 por ciento en peso, con base en el peso total de dicha composicion,de una resina de éter de polifenileno; y (C) de 5 a 20 por ci ento en peso, con base en el peso total de dicha composicion, de un compuesto de fosforo. Sedescribe también el método para preparar las composiciones retardadoras de flama antes mencionadas.
