Abstract
Una fibra de vidrio que tiene un recubrimiento cargado cationicamente sobre la misma, el recubrimiento incluye un polímero cationico funcionalizado,el cual puede ser enlazado en forma cruzada con calor, en el cual el polímero cationico funcionalizadose ha enlazado en forma cruzada con calor despuésde haberse recubierto sobre la fibra de vidrio. También se proporciona un filtro fibroso que incluye fibras de vidrio que tienen un recubrimiento cargadocationicamente sobre las mismas, el recubrimiento incluye un polímero cationico funcionalizado que puede enlazarse en forma cruzada con calor, en el cualel polímero cationico funcionalizado se ha enlazado en forma cruzada con calor después de haberse recubierto sobre las fibras de vidrio. Ademásseproporciona un método para preparar un filtro fibroso. El método involucra proporcionar un filtro fibroso el cual incluye fibras de vidrio, pasar unasolucion de un polímero cationico funcionalizado que puede enlazarse en forma cruzada con calor a través de un filtro fibroso bajo condiciones suficientespara esencialmente recubrir las fibras con el polímero cationico funcionalizado y tratar el filtro fibroso recubierto resultante con calor a una temperaturay durante un tiempo suficiente para enlazar en forma cruzada el polímero cationico funcionalizado presente sobre las fibras de vidrio. A modo de ejemplo, elpolímero cationico funcionalizado puede ser una poliamina funcionalizada con epiclorohidrina o una poliamido-amina funcionalizada conepiclorohidrina.
