Abstract

Existe una necesidad de polímeros los cuales son utilizados en interiores de automoviles y los cuales ofrezcan una resistencia incrementada a la luzultravioleta y al calor. Resulta particularmente critico para los polímeros los cuales son utilizadosen la fabricacion de compuestos de revestimiento parainstrumentos de automotores y paneles de puertas que exhiban una resistencia excelente a la luz ultravioleta y al calor. La presente describe un procesocontinuo para prepara un polímero tipo cauchoel cual puede ser mezclado con polivinil cloruro para hacer una composicion tipo cuero que presenta buenaresistencia al calor y a la luz ultravioleta. Esta técnica involucra la utilizacion de un sistema de reactor continuo multiple en donde al menosuna primerasolucion de monomero contenido butil acrilato, un monomero de acrílico, acrilo nitrilo y un agente de entrecruzamiento son cargados continuamente dentro de almenos tres reactores iniciales. Para lograr un tamano de partícula pequeno, resulta necesario limitar el contenido de solidos en cada uno de estos reactoresiniciales. Luego una segunda solucion de monomero de fase conteniendo estireno, acrilo nitrilo adicional y un agente de entrecruzamiento adicional se cargacontinuamente dentro de un reactor subsecuente. Esta técnica puede ser asimismo utilizada para sintetizar estructuras IPN o de nucleo/cubierta por medio de lautilizacion de una polimerizacion por emulsion de multiples etapas en la cual el látex de la primera etapa contiene una mayoría de butil acrilato obteniéndoseun látex con un tamano de partícula pequeno.
