Abstract
Se revelan fragmentos aislados de ácidos nucleicos que codifican enzimas vegetales involucradas en la bioséntesis de los aminoácidos ramificados y desus porciones. Estas enzimas son dihidroxiácido deshidratasa, distintas isoenzimas de la aminotransferasa de aminoácidos de cadena ramificada, lasubunidad leuC de la 3-isopropilmalato deshidratasa y la subunidad leuD de la 3-isopropilmalato deshidratasa. También se describen genes quiméricos quecontienen los fragmentos de ácidos nucleicos antes mencionados y células huesped transformadas con estos genes quiméricos. Los polipéptidos codificadospor estos fragmentos de ácidos nucleicos y los métodos para allterar su nivel de expresion, también se incluyen. Asimismo se describen composiciones quecomprenden dicho polinucleotido y dicho polipéptido. Se revelan también, los métodos para obtener polinucleotidos que codifican enzimas vegetalesinvolucradas en la biosíntesis de los aminoácidos ramificados y finalmente un método para evaluar la capacidad de un compuesto para inhibir la actividad deuna enzima vegetal, involucrada en la biosíntesis de los aminoácidos ramificados.
