Abstract
Se revela un mecanismo interruptor de la corriente para baterías electroquímicas. Un mecanimo interruptor de la corriente de respuesta térmica(38) es integrado a un sistema de caperuza terminal (10) para una batería electroquímica.E l mecanismo de respuesta térmica (38) preferiblementecomprende un disco bimetálico libre (40) o un elemento de una aleacion metálica con memoria de forma que se deforma al ser expuesto a altas temperaturasprovocándose una interrupcion en latrayector ia eléctrica dentro del sistema. Esto evita el flujo de corriente a través de la batería y desactiva conefectividad una batería en funcionamiento. El mecanismo de respuesta térmica (38) puede comprender un medio de resistenciaeléctrica generado r de calor,preferiblemente un diodo Zener (700), a los efectos de mejorar la sensibilidad térmica. El sistema de caperuza terminal (10) puede comprender un mecanismo queresponda a la presion (48) y colapse ante una acumulacionexcesiva de gas. El gas escapa del interior de la bateria hacia el exterior por medio de una seriede aberturas de ventilacion (63, 67) que se encuentran dentro del sistema (10).
