Abstract
Se describe un procedimiento para biselar las puntas de catéteres intravenosos, en el cual el catéter es colocado sobre un mandril y moldeado enun molde; el mandril puede ser removido después y se puede insertar un segundo mandril; elsegu ndo mandril tiene un diámetro más grande y está adaptado parahacer contacto con la superficie interior del molde para cortar de esta manera cualquier rebaba que se forme en el extremo del catéter y separar la de lapunta del catéter, en formaalterna tiva, el mandril y el catéter con insertados en el molde para moldear la superficie exterior del catéter que después esremovido e insertado en un dado para cortar con punzon la rebaba de la punta del material del catéter, el procedimientode corte con punzon se puede llevara cabo ya sea por el mismo mandril o por un segundo mandril adaptado para el proposito de cortar o cortar con punzon la rebaba del catéter.
