Abstract
El invento se relaciona con un dispositivo de tracción temporaria destinado a impartirle a una masa movible una aceleración muy fuerte. Comprende undispositivo de guía, un carro montado de manera deslizante respecto de dicho dispositivo de guía, un dispositivo motor para impartirle al carro unmovimiento de aceleración a lo largo de dicho dispositivo de guía en una dirección que se extiende en la dirección de aceleración de la masa. Medios deacoplamiento permiten acoplar temporariamentela masa y el carro en el curso de su aceleración. Un dispositivo de freno permite frenar el carro a laterminación de la aceleración de la masa. Se provee un dispositivo de modulación del esfuerzo de tracción para, en el instante de la conexión o ladesconexión, mover los elementos de la masa unos respecto de los otros al estado de reposo o a la proximidad de tal estado de reposo. Aplicación a lacatapulta de un portaaviones.
