Abstract

Se describe un aparato y un método para detectar escoria en una corriente de metal fundido dirigido a través de una camisa de un cazo de fundición. En elaparato se montan pernos conductores primero y segundo, uno junto al otro, en una pared de una camisa de un cazo, estando el primero en contacto con lacorriente de metal fundido pero eléctricamente aislado tanto de la pared como del segundo perno conductor, estando el segundo en contacto eléctrico tanto conla pared como con la corriente demetal fundido. Se conecta un voltímetro entre los dos pernos conductores para detectar diferencias de tensión eléctrica entreellos cuando el metal fundido fluye a través de la camisa. Los cambios bruscos de tensión por el paso de una interfase metal/escoria a través de la camisaindican la presencia de escoria en el metal fundido.
