Abstract
PURPOSE:To switch the system automatically by switching an active system and a standby system at a prescribed time interval if an alarm representing a line fault takes place in both the active and standby systems so as to identify a transmission/reception system having a fault and to use the transmission/ reception system without any fault as the active system. CONSTITUTION:If alarm signal s A1, A2 from the 1st and 2nd transmission/ reception systems arrive at the same time, an AND circuit 91 sends '1' output to a changeover timer 9, which is started. A changeover signal selector 10 is switched by the time of the timer 9, the '1' and '0' level signals from terminals Q, inverse of Q of a flip-flop circuit 85 are fed to a changeover means 7 to act 1st and 2nd transmission/reception systems alternately as the active system. Thus, if no fault exists in any of the transmission/reception system, the transmission/reception system without any fault is used, and the communication line is kept active.
