Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to control the air-fuel ratio to an aimed value with high responsiveness even at the time of transient period of engine operation, by effecting feedback control of the air-fuel ratio by use of an integrated augmenter of the output of an air-fuel ratio sensor and an augmenter of engine conditions calculated on the basis of the former augmenter.
CONSTITUTION: At a step 1004, digital values relating to the temperature of cooling water and that of intake air are read. At a step 1005, an augmenter K1 is calculated from the digital values read at the step 1004, and the result is stored in a RAM. At a step 1006, an output signal of an air-fuel ratio sensor is put thereinto for increasing or decreasing an augmenter K2 as a function of time passed in a timer, and the augementer K2, i.e., information obtained through integration is stored in the RAM. Further, at a step 1007, an augmenter K3 for engine conditions is calculated from engine sparameters and stored in the RAM. On the basis of the signals thus obtained, a fuel injection rate is set in a counter at a step 1016.
