Abstract

PURPOSE: To control operation of the engine correctly, by reading out a signal of engine controlling value suited for the volume of intake air from a memory unit on the basis of a digital signal related to the volume of intake air, and correcting the signal by another digital signal relating to the condition of intake air.
CONSTITUTION: In the engine 1, there are provided the first sensor 7 interconnected to a throttle valve 4 and the second sensor 8 for detecting the engine speed, so as to detect a value relating to the volume of intake air supplied to the engine. The value thus detected is afforded to the first memory unit 16, which in turn gives an engine controlling value corresponding to the volume of intake air. On the other hand, a digital value obtained from the first memory 16 is multiplied by a digital value given from the second memory 22a on the basis of a digital value obtained from the third sensor 10 consisting of an atmospheric-pressure sensor 10a, a sensor 10b for detecting the temperature of intake air and an engine-temperature sensor 10c. Operation of the engine is controlled on the basis of the digital value thus obtained by multiplication of the above two digital values.
