Abstract

855,788. Bottles. FISHER, C. B., and HOGAN, A. J. Oct. 2, 1957 [March 14, 1957], No. 8394/57. Class 66. A bottle or similar container 1 comprises an upstanding rim 4, which forms a trough 5 around the lower edge of a screw cap 3 for the bottle, and has an inner bottom surface 6 in the form of an inverted cone, the outer side of the base being formed to enable the bottle to stand upright on a flat surface. The upstanding rim 4 may extend laterally of the container wall, Fig. 2 (not shown). When used in a centrifuge, the trough 5 retains any liquid in the bottle which may escape past the lower edge of the cap 3. Dimensions of the bottle are described.
