Abstract

1369527 Portable containers &c C E LEBEL and P I I KARMITZ 1 Dec 1972 [2 Dec 1971] 55707/72 Heading B8D [Also in Division F1] A container for fluid material has, to give an indication of the level of product therein, a base comprising a first portion 2 lying in a horizontal plane, and a second portion 6 diverging upwardly from the plane, the arrangement being such that when the product therein exceeds a preselected amount the container stands on said first portion and when the fluid falls below said preselected amount the container topples in the direction of the second portion. To facilitate toppling, the container is provided with a weight 8 and the dispensing outlet 7 is offset. The weight, which may comprise one or more magnets, may be located within the container, outside the container, or in an external recess in the base of the container. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), the base is a removable member (35) adapted to be press-fitted on to a conventional container. In a further alternative embodiment, Fig. 7 (not shown), the toppling edge is variable by breaking off points (45) on the base of the container.
