Abstract

1383404 Compartmented containers F BENEVENTANO 12 May 1972 22310/72 Heading B8D The contents of a first container compartment disposed in the neck of a second container compartment 1 and having a diaphragm base 4, are released for mixing with the contents of the second compartment on relative rotation of closure member 7 having a cutter 12, which extends therefrom into a dimpled recess 5 in the diaphragm so as to prevent complete detachment of the base on severance thereof by the cutter. The base has an annular weakened track 9 and stiffening rib 19. In a modification, Fig. 10 (not shown), the cutter depends from a rotatable lid 7 push-fitted into the first compartment. In another embodiment, Fig. 11 (not shown), the cutter is provided on an annular support 10 within the neck of the second compartment and within which the first compartment L is rotatably-mounted so that rotation of the container L relative to the support causes severance of the diaphragm.
