Heating by electricity.-A kettle or the like has a well a<1> extending across the bottom at rightangles to the direction of pouring so as to retain liquid during pouring, the well being divided by one or more hollow partitions a<3> into which heating-elements are inserted. The heating-element may consist of wire wound around mica with metallic end clips fitting in spring clips. A bottom d may be secured by bolts d<2> and nuts, or hinged and secured by a spring catch.
