Abstract

216,604. Weekes, W. March 13, 1923. Resistances. - A heater comprises a pair of concentric tubes 1, 4, flanged at both ends, a coil of resistance wire between mica wrappings and situated between the tubes, hollow bosses 8 on the inner or outer tube, or both, for conducting the supply leads to the resistance, and means on the bosses or connected therewith for securing the heater to the vessel 11 containing water to be heated. The heater may be secured to the vessel by means of screwed plugs 9 or the bosses may be screwed external y and coupled to the vessel bv screwed pipes and nuts. Fins may be provided on the tubes for increasing the heating surface.
