The invention provides a silica-sol bonded corundum silicon-carbide castable and preparation method, the castable is prepared from the following raw materials by weight: 12~18, 12~18, 15~25 parts of brown corundum with particle size 5~8mm, 3~5mm, 1~3mm respectively; 8~12 parts of silicon carbide with particle size 0~1mm; 5~6 parts of silicon carbide with sieve mesh not less than 270; 7~8 parts of dense corundum with particle size 0~1mm; 6~8 parts of dense corundum with sieve mesh not less than 325; 7~9 parts of white corundum; 7~9 parts of alumina powder; 3~4 parts of micro-silica powder; 0.4~0.6 parts of metallic silicon powder; 0.05~0.07 parts of sodium tripolyphosphate; 0.05~0.07 parts of sodium hexametaphosphate; 0.03~0.05 parts of explosion-proof fiber; 6~10 parts of silica sol. The silica-sol bonded corundum silicon-carbide castable obtained from this invention has high strength and excellent thermal stability and wear resistance, which can better meet the needs of large blast furnace smelting.
