FIELD OF INVENTION oo
The invention relates broadly to beverages and specifically to a pre- packaged beverage product. Co
The Inventor is aware of pre-packaged beverage products but desires such a product which includes a specific type of beverage.
According to one aspect of the invention, there is provided a pre- + packaged beverage product including: a beverage including whisky and a mixer; and a package within which the beverage is pre-packaged.
The term “whisky” may include, but is not necessarily limited to, bourbon, and may be single-malt or blended whisky (or whiskey), regardless of the grain (e.g. barley, malted barley, rye, malted rye, wheat, maize, etc) from which it is distilled or the country (e.g. Scotland —~ scotch whiskey, Ireland, Japan, Canada, the
United States, etc).
. ® The term “pre-packaged” in the context of this specification may be understood as referring to having been sealed through an industrial process optionally, once open, such pre-packaged product may not be re-sealed.
The whisky may be a premium or smooth whisky.
The mixer may include water. In such case, the mixer may be still water or sparkling or gassed water (e.g. carbonated water or soda water).
The mixer may include a flavourant. The flavourant may, for example, be lime.
The whisky may have alcohol by volume of between 30% and 60%, preferably 40% to 43%. The beverage may have an average alcohol by volume of between 5% and 7%. The alcohol by volume of the whisky and/or of the beverage may vary from region-to-region, depending on regional regulations. :
The package may be in the form of a bottle (e.g. of glass or plastic) or a tin (e.g. of metal).
According to another aspect of the invention, there is provided a method of manufacturing a beverage product, the method including: pre-packaging a beverage including whisky and a mixer, in a package.
The invention will now be further described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying diagrammatic drawings.

Figure 2 shows another embodiment of a pre-packaged beverage product, in accordance with the invention.
In Figure 1 of the drawings, reference numeral 10 refers to a pre- packaged beverage product in accordance with an embodiment of the invention. The product 10 includes a package 14 in the form of a bottle which is filled with the pre- mixed beverage, generally indicated by reference numeral 12, of whisky and mixer (e.g. soda water) which may include additional flavourants. fn Figure 2 of the drawings, reference numeral 20 refers to a pre- packaged beverage product in accordance with another embodiment of the invention. The product 20 includes a package 24 in the form of a can which is filled with a pre-mixed beverage generally indicated by reference numeral 22, of whisky and mixer (e.g. soda water), which may include additional flavourants. | : } In use, a user can purchase the pre-packaged beverage 10, 20 from a vendor {e.g. liquor store, bar or restaurant, etc.), either in the form of the bottle 14 or the can 24. The beverage 12, 22 will require no further preparation for consumption and a user will simply open the bottle 14, or the can 24, and consume the pre-mixed pre-packaged beverage 12, 22. The beverage 12, 22 will generally be chilled before consumption, but need not necessarily be chilled prior to purchase.
The inventor believes that the pre-packaged beverage product 10, 20 in accordance with the invention is advantageous in that it is characterised by convenience and is a mixture of South African tradition, culture and language. He believes that that the convenience attributed to the invention is designed to be suited to the dynamic South African outdoor lifestyle. The two embodiments are o designed to be suited to a user's personal preference.
Also, an optimum ratio of whisky to mixer may be achieved.
Claims (17)
1. A pre-packaged beverage product including: a beverage including whisky and a mixer; and a package within which the beverage is pre-packaged.
2. The pre-packaged beverage product of claim 1, wherein the whisky is a single-malt whisky.
3. The pre-packaged beverage product of claim 1, wherein the whisky is a blended whisky.
4, The pre-packaged beverage product according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the mixer is water.
5. : ‘The pre-packaged beverage product according to claim 4, wherein the water is sparkling water or gassed water.
6. The pre-packaged beverage product according to claim 4, wherein the | water is still water.
7. The pre-packaged beverage product according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the mixer includes a flavourant.
8. The pre-packaged beverage product according to claim 7, wherein the flavourant is lime.
9. The pre-packaged beverage product according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the whisky has an alcohol by volume of between 30% and 60%.
10. The pre-packaged beverage product according to claim 9, wherein the whisky has an alcohol by volume of between 40% and 43%.

12. The pre-packaged beverage product according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the package includes a bottle.
13. The pre-package beverage according to any of claims 1 to 12 inclusive, wherein the package includes a tin. BE
14. A method of manufacturing a beverage product, the method including: pre-packaging a beverage including whisky and a mixer, in a package.
15. The method of claim 14, including: manufacturing a beverage product according to any of claims 1 to 13 inclusive.
16. A pre-packaged beverage product according to claim 1, substantially as herein described with reference to and/or as illustrated in any of the accompanying figures.
