Abstract

Imidazodiazepines of the general formula in which A together with both carbon atoms designated by alpha and beta denote one of the residues Q denotes one of the residues R 1 and R 2 each denote hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, lower hydroxyalkyl, lower alkoxy-lower alkyl , (C3-C6) -cycloalkyl, (C3-C6) -cycloalkyl-lower alkyl, amino-lower alkyl, lower alkylamino-lower alkyl, di-lower alkylamino-lower alkyl or aryl-lower alkyl, or together with a nitrogen atom, denote five members to an eight-membered heterocycle, optionally containing one further heteroatom or a fused benzene ring, R3 denotes hydrogen and R4 denotes lower alkyl or R3 and R4 together denote a di- or trimethylene group and R5 and R6 denote each individually hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl, lower alkoxy or nitro, wherein the carbon atom designated by the gamma has the S-configuration, when R3 is other than hydrogen, have pronounced anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, muscle-relaxing and dative-hypnotic features.
