실시예는 수신 광학계 및 이를 갖는 센서 시스템에 대한 것이다.
실시예는 라이다(LIDAR: Light detection and ranging)용 수신 광학계 및 이를 갖는 장치에 대한 것이다.
발명의 실시예는 라이다용 수신 광학계 및 시스템을 갖는 이동체에 관한 것이다.
ADAS(Advanced Driving Assistance System)란 운전자를 운전을 보조하기 위한 첨단 운전자 보조 시스템으로서, 전방의 상황을 센싱하고, 센싱된 결과에 기초하여 상황을 판단하고, 상황 판단에 기초하여 차량의 거동을 제어하는 것으로 구성된다. 예를 들어, ADAS 센서 장치는 전방의 차량을 감지하고, 차선을 인식한다. 이후 목표 차 선이나 목표 속도 및 전방의 타겟이 판단되면, 차량의 ESC(Electrical Stability Control), EMS(Engine Management System), MDPS(Motor Driven Power Steering) 등이 제어된다. 대표적으로, ADAS는 자동 주차 시스템, 저속 시내 주행 보조 시스템, 사각 지대 경고 시스템 등으로 구현될 수 있다.
최근 자율 주행 자동차에 대한 관심이 증대됨에 따라 그 핵심 부품인 라이다(LIDAR: Light Detection And Ranging) 센서에 대한 수요가 커지고 있다. 현재 라이다는 고사양의 고가 차량용으로만 사용되고 있지만 제조비용의 절감으로 일반 차량용으로도 적용될 것으로 예상된다.
초소형 및 초경량 라이다 기술은 무인 이동기기의 센서로서 사용될 뿐만 아니라 지구지형 및 환경관측 등을 위한 위성 및 우주항공 분야, 무인자동차, 공장 및 조선소 등에서 활용되는 트랜스포터, 크레인, 로봇 등에 활용이 가능하고, 육상과 항공 및 해양 산업 분야의 통합적 접근을 통해 이동기기간 복합 또는 협력 운용 형태로도 등장할 전망이므로, 초소형 및 초경량 라이다를 구현하기 위한 초소형 및 초경량 라이다용 광학계의 개발이 시급한 상황이다.

상기 기술적 과제를 해결하기 위하여, 본 실시예에 따른 수신 광학계는 광축을 따라 물체측에서 센서측으로 순차적으로 배치되는 제1 내지 제6렌즈를 포함하고, 상기 제1렌즈는 음(-)의 굴절력을 갖고, 상기 제2 내지 제6렌즈 중 적어도 하나는 양(+)의 굴절력을 갖고, 상기 광축에서 인접한 렌즈 사이의 간격 중 상기 제2렌즈와 상기 제2렌즈의 중심 간격이 가장 크다.
상기 광축에서 상기 제1렌즈는 양면이 오목한 형상을 갖고, 상기 광축에서 상기 제2렌즈는 양면이 볼록한 형상을 가질 수 있다.
상기 광축에서 상기 제4렌즈는 물체측이 볼록한 메니스커스 형상을 갖고, 상기 광축에서 상기 제5렌즈는 물체측이 볼록한 메니스커스 형상을 가질 수 있다.
상기 제2 내지 제6렌즈는 양(+)의 굴절력을 갖고, 상기 제3렌즈와 상기 제4렌즈 사이에 필터가 배치될 수 있다.
상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈 중 상기 제4렌즈의 유효경은 가장 크고, 상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈 중 상기 제6렌즈의 유효경이 가장 작을 수 있다.
상기 광축에서 상기 제2렌즈와 상기 제3렌즈의 중심 간격은 상기 제4렌즈의 중심 두께보다 클 수 있다.
상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈의 유효경의 크기는 이미지 센서의 최대 대각 길이보다 클 수 있다.
상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈 중 유효경이 가장 큰 렌즈에 인접하게 배치되는 필터를 포함할 수 있다.

상기 기술적 과제를 해결하기 위하여, 본 실시예에 따른 라이다 장치는 이미지 센서와, 제1축을 따라 물체측에서 센서측으로 순차적으로 배치되는 제1 내지 제6렌즈를 포함하는 수신 광학계; 및 광원과, 제2광축을 따라 물체측에서 광원측으로 순차적으로 배치되는 제7 내지 제12렌즈를 포함하는 송신 광학계를 포함하고, 상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈 중 유효경이 가장 큰 렌즈에 인접하게 배치되는 제1필터를 포함하고, 상기 제7 내지 제12렌즈 중 유효경이 가장 큰 렌즈에 인접하게 배치되는 제2필터를 포함하고, 상기 광축에서 상기 제2렌즈와 상기 제3렌즈의 거리는 상기 제5렌즈와 상기 제6렌즈의 거리보다 크다.
상기 제1렌즈는 음(-)의 굴절력을 갖고, 상기 제7렌즈는 음(-)의 굴절력을 가질 수 있다.
상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈는 유리 재질이고, 상기 제6렌즈의 물체측면 및 센서측면 중 적어도 하나는 비구면을 가질 수 있다.
상기 광축에서 상기 제2렌즈 및 상기 제3렌즈는 양면이 볼록한 형상을 갖고, 상기 광축에서 제4 내지 제6렌즈는 물체측으로 볼록한 메니스커스 형상을 가질 수 있다.
실시예에 의하면, 향상된 광학 특성을 가질 수 있다. 자세하게, 실시예에 따른 수신 광학계에서 밴드패스 필터의 위치를 조리개(stop) 근처에 위치시켜 필터로 입사되는 빛의 입사각을 최소화할 수 있다. 이에 따라 밴드패스 필터의 광 입사각에 따라 밴드패스 필터의 투과율 영역을 넓게 활용할 수 있다.
실시예에 의하면, 향상된 광학 특성을 가질 수 있다. 발명의 라이다 수신 광학계는 수신 광학계로부터 방출된 광의 추출 효율을 극대화할 수 있다.
발명의 라이다 수신 광학계는 저온 내지 고온의 온도 범위에서 양호한 광학 성을 가질 수 있다. 자세하게, 수신 광학계에 포함된 복수의 렌즈들은 설정된 재질, 굴절력, 및 굴절률을 가질 수 있다. 이에 따라, 온도 변화에 따른 각 렌즈의 굴절률이 변화되고, 이로 인해 각 렌즈의 초점 거리가 변화할 경우, 글라스 몰드 렌즈와 글라스 렌즈에 의해 상호 보상할 수 있다. 즉, 수신 광학계는 저온 내지 고온의 온도 범위에서 굴절력에 대한 배분을 효과적으로 수행할 수 있고, 저온 내지 고온의 온도 범위에서 광학 특성이 변화하는 것을 방지 또는 최소화할 수 있다. 따라서, 실시예에 따른 광학계 및 센서 시스템은 다양한 온도 범위에서 향상된 광학 특성을 유지할 수 있다.
발명의 라이다 수신 광학계는 렌즈들은 설정된 두께, 굴절력 및 인접한 렌즈와의 간격을 가질 수 있다. 이에 따라, 실시예에 따른 광학계 및 센서 시스템은 설정된 화각 범위에서 향상된 MTF 특성, 수차 제어 특성, 해상도 특성 등을 가질 수 있고, 화각의 주변부에서 양호한 광학 성능을 가질 수 있다.
실시예에 따른 수신 광학계 및 센서 시스템은 글라스 몰드 렌즈와 유리 렌즈의 혼합을 통해 설정된 화각을 만족하며 우수한 광학 특성을 구현할 수 있다. 이로 인해 광학계는 보다 슬림한 차량용 센서 시스템을 제공할 있다. 따라서, 광학계 및 센서 시스템은 다양한 어플리케이션 및 장치 등에 제공될 수 있고, 가혹한 온도 환경, 예를 들어 차량의 외부에 노출되거나 또는 여름철 고온의 차량 내부에서도 우수한 광학 특성을 가질 수 있다.

발명의 설명에 있어서, “물체측 면”은 광축(OA)을 기준으로 물체측을 향하는 렌즈의 면을 의미할 수 있고, “센서측 면”은 광축을 기준으로 촬상 면(이미지 센서)을 향하는 렌즈의 면이며, “광원측 면”은 광축을 기준으로 광원을 향하는 렌즈의 면을 의미할 수 있다. 렌즈의 일면이 볼록하다는 것은 광축 또는 근축 영역(Paraxial region)에서 볼록한 형상을 의미할 수 있고, 렌즈의 일면이 오목하다는 것은 광축 또는 근축 영역에서의 오목한 형상을 의미할 수 있다. 렌즈 데이터에 대한 표에 기재된 곡률 반경, 중심 두께, 렌즈 사이의 광축 간격은 광축에서의 값(단위, mm)을 의미할 수 있다. 수직 방향은 광축과 수직인 방향을 의미할 수 있고, 렌즈 또는 렌즈면의 끝단은 입사된 광이 통과하는 렌즈의 유효 영역의 끝단을 의미할 수 있다. 렌즈면의 유효경의 크기는 측정 방법 등에 따라 최대 ±0.4 mm 정도의 측정 오차를 가질 수 있다. 근축 영역이라 함은 광축 근처의 매우 좁은 영역을 의미하며, 광축(OA)으로부터 광선이 떨어지는 거리가 거의 0인 영역이다. 이하, 광축이라는 의미는 각 렌즈의 중심이거나 광축 근처의 매우 좁은 영역을 포함할 수 있다.

수신 광학계(100) 및 이를 갖는 센서 시스템은 차량 내부 또는 외부에 장착되어, 운전자 감시 또는 외부 물체나 차선을 센싱할 수 있다. 렌즈들의 재질은 유리 또는 플라스틱이 선택될 수 있으며, 선팽창 계수는 유리 재질이 플라스틱 재질보다 작다. 온도 변화에 따라 초점 결상 위치가 변화되는 것을 억제하기 위해 유리 재질의 렌즈를 채용하고 있다. 그러나, 구면의 유리 렌즈들로 광학계를 구성할 경우, 렌즈 매수를 줄이는 데 한계가 있고, 사이즈 감소 및 중량 경감에 한계가 있다.
본 실시예의 수신 광학계(100)는 구면 렌즈와 비구면 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다. 여기서, 구면 렌즈는 렌즈의 물체측 면과 센서측 면 중 적어도 하나가 구면인 렌즈이다. 비구면 렌즈는 렌즈의 물체측 면과 센서측 면 중 적어도 하나가 비구면인 렌즈이다. 수신 광학계(100)는 구면의 유리 렌즈와 비구면의 유리 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다. 또한 비구면 렌즈를 채용하므로, 광학계(100)는 전체 길이(TTL)이 줄어들 수 있고, 비구면 렌즈로 인해 구면 수차, 색 수차와 같은 다양한 수차에 대해 양호한 보정이 가능할 수 있다. 또한 비구면 렌즈들은 주변부의 왜곡 부분을 최소화시켜 줄 수 있다.
광학계(100)는 n개의 렌즈를 포함할 수 있으며, n 번째 렌즈는 이미지 센서(300)에 인접한 마지막 렌즈이며, n-1번째 렌즈는 마지막 렌즈에 가장 인접한 렌즈일 수 있다. n은 2 이상의 정수이며, 예컨대 6 내지 8 범위일 수 있다. n개의 렌즈에서 구면 렌즈와 비구면 렌즈의 비율은 5:1 또는 6:1 일 수 있다.
수신 광학계(100)는 첫번째 렌즈가 유리 재질의 렌즈들로 이루어질 수 있다. 유리 재질은 외부 온도 변화에 따른 팽창과 수축 변화량이 적고, 표면이 잘 긁히지 않아 표면 손상을 방지할 수 있다. 이에 따라 광학계(100)에서 물체측 렌즈들은 구면 렌즈이고, 센서측 렌즈(들)은 비구면 렌즈로 배치할 수 있다.
광학계(100) 내에서 이미지 센서(300)에 가장 가까운 적어도 하나의 렌즈는 비구면 렌즈일 수 있다. 이미지 센서(300)에 가장 가까운 적어도 한 매의 렌즈는 비구면 렌즈일 수 있다. 광학계(100)에서 n번째 또는 n-1 번째 렌즈들은 비구면 렌즈로 배치되므로, 이미지 센서(300)에 입사하는 광들에 대해 다양한 경로를 형성할 수 있다. 비구면 렌즈는 유리 재질이 사출 성형된 글라스 몰드일 수 있다.
광학계(100) 내에서 물체에 가장 가까운 적어도 두 매의 렌즈는 유리 재질일 수 있다. 물체에 가장 가까운 2매 이상의 렌즈 예컨대, 2매 내지 5매의 렌즈는 유리 재질일 수 있다. 유리 재질의 렌즈들이 온도 변화에 따른 수축과 팽창의 변화율이 플라스틱 재질보다 작으므로, 렌즈 배럴 내에서 외부에 인접한 영역에 유리 재질의 렌즈들을 배치할 수 있다.
각 렌즈는 물체측 면과 센서측 면을 가질 수 있다. 렌즈들은 물체측 구면과 센서측 구면의 렌즈와, 물체측 비구면과 센서측 비구면의 렌즈를 포함할 수 있다. 광학계는 비구면의 렌즈 매수는 구면 렌즈 매수보다 작을 수 있다. 광학계(100)는 비구면의 렌즈들을 이미지 센서(300)에 인접하게 배치하므로, 다양한 수차를 보정할 수 있다. 구면 렌즈들은 유리 재질이며, 비구면 렌즈들은 글라스 몰드 재질일 수 있다.
광학계(100)의 렌즈들 중에서 최대 굴절률을 갖는 렌즈는 구면 렌즈일 수 있으며, 최대 아베수를 갖는 렌즈는 구면 렌즈일 수 있다. 이에 따라 최대 굴절률을 갖는 렌즈가 물체 측에 배치되므로, 두 번째 이후의 렌즈의 곡률 반경의 변경이 용이하고 중심 두께를 증가시켜 줄 수 있다.
광학계(100) 내에서 최대 유효경을 갖는 렌즈는 광학계(100)의 중심 영역에 위치하며, 유리 재질이며 구면 렌즈일 수 있다. 광학계(100) 내에서 최소 유효경을 갖는 렌즈는 센서측에 가장 가까운 렌즈 사이에 위치하며, 글래스 몰드(Glass Mold) 렌즈일 수 있다. 또한 비구면 렌즈들의 유효경 평균은 구면 렌즈들의 유효경 평균보다 작을 수 있다. 여기서, 렌즈의 유효경은 각 렌즈의 물체측 면의 유효경과 광원측 면의 유효경의 평균 값이다.
렌즈들(101~106) 각각은 유효 영역 및 비유효 영역을 포함할 수 있다. 유효 영역은 렌즈들 각각에 입사된 광이 통과하는 영역일 수 있다. 즉, 유효 영역은 입사된 광이 굴절되어 광학 특성을 구현하는 유효한 영역 또는 유효경으로 정의될 수 있다. 비유효 영역은 유효 영역의 둘레에 배치될 수 있다. 비유효 영역은 복수의 렌즈들에서 유효한 광이 입사되지 않는 영역일 수 있다. 즉, 비유효 영역은 광학 특성과 무관한 영역일 수 있다. 또한, 비유효 영역의 단부는 렌즈를 수용하는 렌즈 배럴(미도시) 등에 고정되는 영역일 수 있다.
광학계(100)의 렌즈들 중에서 최대 중심 두께를 갖는 렌즈는 구면 렌즈일 수 있고, 최대 에지 두께를 갖는 렌즈는 구면 렌즈일 수 있다. 이에 따라 다양한 수차를 보정할 수 있고, 주변부까지 광학 성능을 개선시켜 줄 수 있다.
광학계(100) 내에서 TTL(Total top length)는 ImgH 보다 8배 초과 예컨대, 8배 초과 및 12배 이하일 수 있다. TTL(Total track length )은 첫 번째 렌즈의 물체측 면의 중심으로부터 이미지 센서(300)의 상면까지의 광축(OA)에서의 거리이다. ImgH는 이미지 센서(300)의 중심에서 대각선 끝단까지의 거리의 2배이거나 이미지 센서(300)의 최대 대각 길이이다. 또한 광학계(100) 내에서 각각의 렌즈의 유효경은 이미지 센서(300)의 대각선 길이보다 클 수 있다.
광학계(100) 내에서 유효 초점 거리(EFL)는 8mm 이상 및 12mm 이하를 만족할 수 있다. 광학계(100)의 화각(FOV)은 10도 이상 및 30도 이하를 만족할 수 있다. 이를 통해, 차량용 센서 시스템에서 표준 수신 광학계로 제공할 수 있다. 예컨대, 실시예에 따른 수신 광학계 및 센서 시스템은 차량 실내 또는 실외에 구비되는 ADAS(Advanced Driving Assistance System)용 센싱 장치에 적용될 수 있다.
광학계(100)는 TTL/ImgH의 조건이 4 초과 예컨대, 4초과 10미만 범위일 수 있다. 이에 따라 광축(OA)을 따라 각 렌즈의 중심 두께는 증가시키고 이미지 센서(300)의 사이즈는 줄여줄 수 있어, 차량용 렌즈 광학계를 제공할 수 있다. 또한 차량용 카메라에 사용되기 위해 자동차용 전장부품의 온도 신뢰성 평가기준이 되는 온도 범위 즉, -40℃ 내지 +120℃에서 온도 보정이 적용되어야 한다.
즉, 온도의 변화에 따라 렌즈가 팽창하거나 수축할 때에도 렌즈의 초점이 설정 범위 이내를 유지하도록 렌즈를 구성하여야 한다. 전체 유효 초점거리(EFL)가 15 mm 이하 예컨대, 5 mm 내지 15 mm 범위 또는 8 mm 내지 12 mm 범위가 되고 전술한 온도 보정이 가능한 유리 재질의 렌즈들로 구성할 수 있다.
광학계(100) 내에서 양(+)의 굴절력을 갖는 렌즈 매수는 음(-)의 굴절력을 갖는 렌즈 매수 보다 많을 수 있다. 양(+)의 굴절력을 갖는 렌즈 매수는 전체 렌즈 매수에 비해 60% 이상일 수 있다. 음(-)의 굴절력을 갖는 렌즈들의 굴절률 평균은 양(+)의 굴절력을 갖는 렌즈들의 평균 보다 클 수 있다. 이에 따라 양(+)의 굴절력를 갖는 렌즈들의 분산 값은 음(-)의 굴절력을 갖는 렌즈들의 분산 값보다 클 수 있다. 이러한 광학계(100)는 유리재질의 구면 렌즈와 비구면 렌즈가 혼합되므로, 각종 수차를 보정할 수 있어, 광학 성능 저하를 방지할 수 있다.
광학계(100) 내에서 물체측에 가장 가까운 렌즈의 유효경은 이미지 센서(300)에 가장 가까운 렌즈의 유효경 보다 클 수 있다. 이에 따라 광학계의 밝기를 제어할 수 있다. 각 렌즈들의 유효경 크기를 제어함으로써, 광학계(100)는 입사하는 광을 제어하여 해상력, 온도 변화에 따른 광학 특성 저하를 보상할 수 있으며, 색수차 제어 특성을 개선시킬 수 있고, 광학계(100)의 비네팅(vignetting) 특성을 개선할 수 있다.
광학계(100)는 광축(OA)을 따라 물체측에서 센서측을 향해 정렬된, 제1렌즈(101), 제2렌즈(102), 제3렌즈(103), 제4렌즈(104), 제5렌즈(105) 및 제6렌즈(106) 를 포함할 수 있다. 제1 내지 제6렌즈(101,102,103,104,105,106)는 렌즈부로 정의할 수 있다.
곡률 반경을 절대 값으로 설명하면, 광학계(100) 내에서 광축(OA)을 기준으로 최소 곡률 반경을 갖는 렌즈면은 구면들 중 제6렌즈(106)의 물체측 면일 수 있다. 광학계(100) 내에서 최대 곡률 반경을 갖는 렌즈 면은 구면들 중 제3렌즈(103)의 물체측 및 센서측 면일 수 있다. 렌즈들의 곡률 반경을 조절할 경우, 인접한 렌즈 면과 렌즈 면 사이의 난반사를 방지하여 렌즈 고스트를 저감시켜 줄 수 있고, 또한 렌즈 고스트에 의한 (MPI: Multi-path interference)를 방지할 수 있다.
광학계(100) 또는 센서 시스템은 이미지 센서(300)를 포함할 수 있다. 이미지 센서(300)는 광을 감지하고 전기적 신호로 변환할 수 있다. 이미지 센서(300)는 렌즈들을 순차적으로 통과한 광을 감지할 수 있다. 이미지 센서(300)는 CCD(Charge Coupled Device) 또는 CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) 등 입사되는 광을 감지할 수 있는 소자를 포함할 수 있다.
여기서, 이미지 센서(300)의 길이는 광축(OA)에 직교하는 대각선 방향의 최대 길이이며, 여기서, 이미지 센서(300)의 길이보다 큰 유효경을 갖는 렌즈 매수는 4매 내지 6매이며, 이미지 센서(300)의 길이보다 작은 유효경을 갖는 렌즈 매수는 없을 수 있다.
광학계(100)는 필터(111)을 포함할 수 있으며, 필터(111)은 렌즈부 내에 배치될 수 있다. 필터(111)는 수신 광학계에 입사하는 레이저 빔을 투과시키고 다른 파장의 빔은 차단할 수 있다. 투과되는 레이저 빔은 890nm 내지 960nm 범위 또는 940nm ±10nm일 수 있다.
필터(111)와 이미지 센서(300) 사이에는 적어도 3매의 렌즈가 배치될 수 있다. 예컨대, 제4,5,6 렌즈(104,105,106)는 필터(111)와 이미지 센서(300) 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 필터(111)와 이미지 센서(300) 사이에는 비구면 렌즈가 배치될 수 있다. 필터(111)는 890nm 내지 960nm 범위 또는 940nm ±10nm의 레이저 빔을 통과시키는 밴드 패스 필터일 수 있다. 필터(111)는 라이다 장치의 송신 광학계에서 송신한 레이저 빔에 대응하는 파장의 빛은 통과시키고, 나머지 주변광에 해당하는 빛은 차단시킬 수 있다.
필터(111)는 렌즈들 중 서로 다른 두 렌즈 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 필터(111)는 제3렌즈(103)와 제4렌즈(104) 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 필터(111)와 제3렌즈(103) 사이의 간격(CG3-1)와 필터(111)와 제4렌즈(104) 사이의 간격(CG3-2)는 인접한 렌즈 사이의 간격들 중 가장 작을 수 있다. 제3렌즈(103)과 제4렌즈(104) 사이의 중심 간격(CG3)은 필터(111)의 두께보다 클 수 있다. 제3렌즈(103)과 제4렌즈(104) 사이의 중심 간격은 제3렌즈(103)와 필터(111) 사이의 간격, 필터(111)의 중심 두께 및 필터(111)와 제4렌즈(104) 사이의 간격의 합과 같다.
커버 글라스(112)는 제6렌즈(106)와 이미지 센서(300) 사이에 배치되며, 이미지 센서(300)의 상부를 보호하며 이미지 센서(300)의 신뢰성 저하를 방지할 수 있다. 커버 글라스(112)는 제거될 수 있다. 커버 글라스(112)는 보호 글라스일 수 있다.
광학계(100)는 조리개(ST: Stop)를 포함할 수 있다. 조리개(ST)는 광학계(100)에 입사되는 광량을 조절할 수 있다. 조리개(ST)는 제1렌즈(101)와 제2렌즈(102) 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 조리개(ST)는 구면의 제1렌즈(101)와 구면의 제2렌즈(102) 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 조리개(ST)는 제1렌즈(101)의 센서측 구면과 제2렌즈(102)의 물체측 구면 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 조리개(ST)는 제1렌즈(101)와 필터(111) 사이에 배치될 수 있다.
조리개(ST)가 배치된 렌즈 면은 광학계(100)의 광량을 보다 효율적으로 조절하고 가이드하기 위함이다. 조리개(ST)가 제1렌즈(101)의 센서측 면에 배치될 수 있다. 조리개(ST)는 제2렌즈(102)의 물체측 면에 배치될 수 있다. 또는, 복수의 렌즈들 중 선택되는 적어도 하나의 렌즈 예컨대, 제1렌즈(101)의 물체측 면 또는 센서측 면이 조리개 역할을 수행할 수 있다.
광학계(100)에서 렌즈들의 굴절률 합은 8.0 이상 예컨대, 8.0 내지 12.0 범위이며, 굴절률 평균은 1.70 내지 1.80 범위일 수 있다. 렌즈들 각각의 아베수 합은 220 이하 예컨대, 150 내지 220 범위이며, 아베수의 평균은 50 이하 예컨대, 25 내지 50 범위일 수 있다. 광학계(100) 내에서 렌즈들의 굴절률을 조절하여, -45 내지 120도까지의 온도 변화에 대한 광학 성능의 저하를 방지하며 열 보상을 최적화할 수 있다. 또한 아베수를 조절하여, 입사 광의 스팟(spot) 사이즈의 편차를 최소화 즉, 스팟 다이아그램 사이즈를 최소화할 수 있다.
전체 렌즈의 중심 두께 합은 20mm 이상 예컨대, 25mm 내지 35mm 범위이며 중심 두께들의 평균은 5.5mm 이하 예컨대, 4.8mm 내지 5.3mm 범위일 수 있다. 광축(OA)에서의 렌즈들 사이의 중심 간격들의 합은 15 mm 이상 예컨대, 15 mm 내지 20 mm 범위이고 렌즈의 중심 두께 합보다 클 수 있다. 여기서, 렌즈들 사이의 중심 간격들의 합은 제1렌즈(101)와 제2렌즈(102)의 중심 간격(CG1), 제2렌즈(102)와 제3렌즈(103)의 중심 간격(CG2), 제3렌즈(103)와 필터(111)의 중심 간격(CG3-1), 필터(111)와 제4렌즈(104)의 중심 간격(CG3-2), 제4렌즈(104)와 제5렌즈(105)의 중심 간격(CG4) 및 제5렌즈(105)와 제6렌즈(106)의 중심 간격(CG5)의 합을 의미할 수 있다.
광학계(100)의 각 렌즈 면들의 유효 경의 평균 값은 20mm 이하 예컨대, 10mm 내지 20mm 범위로 제공할 수 있다. 광학계(100) 내에서 각 렌즈들의 두께를 조절하여, -45 내지 120도까지의 온도 변화에 대한 광학 성능의 저하를 방지하며 열 보상을 최적화할 수 있다.
본 실시예에 따른 광학계에서 화각은 10도 초과 예컨대, 15도 이상 예컨대, 15±10도의 범위일 수 있다. 광학계 또는 카메라 모듈의 F 넘버는 1이하, 예컨대, 0.7 내지 1 범위 또는 0.7 내지 0.9 범위일 수 있다. 이미지 센서(300)의 대각선 길이는 6.041mm±0.5mm일 수 있다. 본 실시예에 따른 광학계에서 유리 렌즈들을 적층하여 온도 변화에 따라 초점 결상 위치가 변화하는 것을 억제할 수 있고, 비구면 렌즈를 제공하여 다양한 수차를 보정하는 차량용 라이다 장치로 제공할 수 있다.
본 실시예는 라이다 장치에 적용되는 광학계이므로, 제1렌즈(101)가 유리 재질로 제공할 수 있다. 이는 유리 재질이 플라스틱 재질 대비 스크래치에 강하고 외부 온도에 민감하지 않은 장점을 갖고 있다. 차량 내부에 배치되거나 이물질에 의한 스크래치를 보다 효과적으로 방지하기 위해 유리 렌즈를 제1렌즈(101)로 사용하고, 라이다 장치는 차량운행 시 물체까지의 거리, 방향, 속도, 온도, 물질 분포 및 농도 특성을 감지할 수 있다. 이러한 라이다 장치는 첨단운전자 지원시스템(ADAS)용으로 사용될 수 있다.
본 실시예에 따른 광학계(100)는 광의 경로를 변경하기 위한 반사 부재(미도시)를 더 포함할 수 있다. 반사부재는 입사 광을 렌즈들 방향으로 반사하는 프리즘으로 구현될 수 있다. 이하, 본 실시예에 따른 광학계를 상세하게 설명하기로 한다.
본 발명의 본 실시예에 따른 광학계에 대해 설명하기로 한다.
도 1을 참조하면, 광학계(100)는 제1렌즈(101) 내지 제6렌즈(106)를 포함할 수 있다. 제1 내지 제6렌즈들(101~106)은 광학계(100)의 광축(OA)을 따라 순차적으로 배치될 수 있다. 물체의 정보에 해당하는 광은 제1렌즈(101) 내지 제3렌즈(103), 필터(155), 제4렌즈(104) 내지 제6렌즈(106) 및 커버 글라스(112)를 통과하여 이미지 센서(300)에 입사될 수 있다. 조리개(ST)는 제1렌즈(101)의 센서측 면의 둘레에 배치될 수 있다.
제1렌즈(101)는 광축(OA)에서 양(+) 또는 음(-)의 굴절력을 가질 수 있다. 제1렌즈(101)는 음(-)의 굴절력일 수 있다. 제1렌즈(101)는 플라스틱 재질 또는 유리(glass) 재질을 포함할 수 있으며, 예컨대 유리 재질일 수 있다. 유리 재질의 제1렌즈(101)는 주변 환경에 따른 온도 변화에 따른 중심 위치와 곡률반경 등의 변화를 줄여줄 수 있으며, 광학계(100)의 입사측 면을 보호할 수 있다. 제1렌즈(101)는 사출 성형되지 않는 유리 재질이다.
광축을 기준으로 제1렌즈(101)의 물체측 제1면(S1)은 오목하며, 센서측 제2면(S2)은 오목할 수 있다. 제1렌즈(101)는 양면이 오목한 형상을 가질 수 있다. 제1면(S1) 및 제2면(S2)는 구면을 가질 수 있다. 제1렌즈(101)의 제1면(S1) 및 제2면(S2)은 광축(OA)에서 유효 영역의 끝단 즉, 에지까지 임계점(Critical point) 없이 제공될 수 있다.
제1렌즈(101)의 굴절률이 n1인 경우, 1.8 < n1 또는 1.75 < n1 < 2.1의 조건을 만족할 수 있다. 제1렌즈(101)의 굴절률(n1)이 다른 렌즈들에 비해 높으므로, 제1렌즈(101)의 제1면(S1)의 곡률 반경의 커질 수 있으며, 렌즈 제작이 용이할 수 있다. 제1렌즈(101)의 굴절률(n1)이 조건보다 작은 경우, 제1,2 렌즈(101,102)의 굴절력을 증가시켜 주기 위해 렌즈 면을 급격하게 오목하거나 볼록하게 형성해야 하며, 이 경우 렌즈 제작이 용이하지 않고 렌즈 불량률도 높아지고 수율 저하의 원인이 될 수 있다.
조리개(STOP)는 제1렌즈(101)의 센서측 제2면(S2)의 둘레에 배치될 수 있다. 조리개(STOP)는 광학계(100)에서 출사되는 광량을 조절할 수 있다. 조리개(STOP)는 화각 범위 내에서 TTL을 줄여줄 수 있고, 광학계의 소형화가 가능하다. 이에 따라, 광학계의 중량별 수율(yield by weight)의 저하를 방지하고, 생산 효율의 향상을 도모할 수 있다. 또한, 화각을 10도 내지 30도에서 TTL을 줄여 광학계를 소형화할 수 있다.
제2렌즈(102)는 제1렌즈(101)와 제3렌즈(103) 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 제2렌즈(102)는 광축(OA)에서 양(+) 또는 음(-)의 굴절력을 가질 수 있다. 제2렌즈(102)는 양(+)의 굴절력을 가질 수 있다. 제2렌즈(102)는 플라스틱 또는 유리(glass) 재질을 포함할 수 있으며, 예를 들어, 유리 재질로 제공 될 수 있다. 제2렌즈(102)는 사출 성형되지 않는 유리 재질이다. 제2렌즈(102)의 제3면(S3) 및 제4면(S4)은 구면일 수 있다.

제6렌즈(106)는 물체측에서 가장 멀리 배치될 수 있다. 제6렌즈(106)는 센서측에 가장 가깝게 배치될 수 있다. 제6렌즈(106)는 광축(OA)에서 양(+) 또는 음(-)의 굴절력을 가질 수 있다. 제6렌즈(106)는 양(+)의 굴절력을 가질 수 있다. 제3렌즈(103)는 플라스틱 또는 유리(glass) 재질을 포함할 수 있으며, 예를 들어, 유리 재질일 수 있다. 제3렌즈(103)는 비구면을 갖고 유리 재질로 이루어지는 글래스 몰드(Glass Mold) 렌즈일 수 있다. 글래스 몰드(Glass Mold) 렌즈는 비구면 모양이 될 금형 내부에 광학 유리 잉곳을 넣고 가열 및 압축 과정을 통해 제작될 수 있다. 제6렌즈(106)의 제11면(S11) 및 제12면(S12)은 비구면일 수 있다.
광축(OA)을 기준으로 제6렌즈(106)의 물체 측 제11면(S11)은 볼록하며, 센서 측 제12면(S12)은 오목할 수 있다. 광축을 기준으로 제6렌즈(106)의 물체측 제11면(S11)은 볼록하며, 센서측 제12면(S12)은 오목할 수 있다. 제6렌즈(106)는 센서측이 오목한 메니스커스 형상을 가질 수 있다. 제6렌즈(106)는 물체측이 볼록한 메니스커스 형상을 가질 수 있다. 제11면(S11) 및 제12면(S12)는 광축(OA)에서 유효 영역의 끝단까지 임계점 없이 제공될 수 있다. 제6렌즈(106)의 굴절률이 n6인 경우, 1.6 < n6 또는 1.7 < n6 < 2.1의 조건을 만족할 수 있다.
이미지 센서(300)와 가장 인접하게 배치되는 제6렌즈(106)과 이미지 센서(300) 사이에 커버 글라스(112)가 배치될 수 있다. 커버 글라스(112)는 이미지 센서(300)의 상부를 보호하며 이미지 센서(300)의 신뢰성 저하를 방지할 수 있다. 커버 글라스(112)는 보호 글라스일 수 있다.
이미지 센서(300)는 렌즈들을 순차적으로 통과한 광을 감지할 수 있다. 이미지 센서(300)는 CCD(Charge Coupled Device) 또는 CMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) 등 입사되는 광을 감지할 수 있는 소자를 포함할 수 있다.
도 2는 도 1의 실시예 광학계의 렌즈 데이터의 예이다. 도 2와 같이, 제1 내지 제6렌즈(101-106)의 광축(OA)에서의 곡률 반경(Radius of Curvature), 렌즈의 중심 두께(Thickness), 렌즈들 사이의 중심 간격(distance), d-line에서의 굴절률(Refractive index), 아베수(Abbe's Number) 및 유효반경(Semi-Aperture)의 크기를 설정할 수 있다.
제1 내지 제6렌즈(101-106)의 중심 두께는 CT1~CT6으로 나타내며, 각 렌즈의 유효 영역의 끝단인 에지 두께는 ET1~ET6으로 나타내며, 인접한 두 렌즈 사이의 중심 간격(Center gap)은 CG1~CG5으로 나타낸다. 제3렌즈(103)와 제4렌즈(104) 사이에 필터(111)가 배치되므로, 제3렌즈(103)와 필터(111)의 중심 간격을 CG3-1로 정의하고, 필터(111)와 제4렌즈(104) 사이의 중심 간격을 CG3-2로 정의한다.
제1 내지 제6렌즈(101-106)는 하기 조건을 만족할 수 있다.

제5렌즈(105)의 중심 두께(CT5)는 렌즈들 중에서 최대이며, 제1렌즈(101)의 중심 두께(CT1)는 렌즈들 중에서 최소이다. 최대 중심 두께는 최소 중심 두께의 2배 이상 예컨대, 2.5배 이상일 수 있으며, 최대 중심 두께와 최소 중심 두께의 차이는 4 mm 이상일 수 있다.
인접한 렌즈들 사이의 중심 간격(CG)를 설명하면, 제2렌즈(102) 및 제3렌즈(103) 사이의 중심 간격(CG2)은 최대이며, 제3렌즈(103)와 필터(111) 사이의 중심 간격(CG3-1), 필터(111)와 제4렌즈(104) 사이의 중심 간격(CG3-2) 및 제4렌즈(104)와 제5렌즈(105) 사이의 중심 간격(CG4)은 최소일 수 있다. 여기서, 최대 중심 간격과 최소 중심 간격의 차이는 6mm 이상 예컨대, 8mm 내지 10mm 범위일 수 있다.

도 7은 본 실시예에 따른 수신 광학계를 갖는 센서 시스템의 블록 구성도이다. 도 7를 참조하면, 센서 장치는 제어부(10), 광원 구동부(20), 수신 광학계(30), 상기에 개시된 수신 광학계(50) 및 신호 처리부(60)를 포함한다.
제어부(10)는 신호의 송신 및 수신 신호를 제어하며, 송/수신된 신호를 기초로 자율 주행 모듈, 인공 지능 모듈, 드론, 로봇, 증강 현실 장치, 가상 현상 장치, 5G와 6G 등의 통신 서비스와 관련된 장치와 연계할 수 있다.
광원 구동부(20)는 수신 광학계(30) 내에 포함된 광원에 전원을 공급하여 구동시켜 준다. 광원은 선광원 또는 점광원 형태로 레이저 광을 발생하게 된다. 광원 구동부(20)는 주행 환경 정보에 따라 광원에 공급되는 구동 전류를 조절하거나 가변시켜 줄 수 있다. 주행 환경 정보는 주행 구간의 지형 정보, 교통 혼잡 정보, 날씨 등을 포함할 수 있다.
광원으로부터 발생되는 레이저 광의 파장은 890nm 내지 960nm 범위 또는 940nm ±10nm 범위일 수 있다. 레이저 광원은 InGaAs/GaAs 기반의 반도체 다이오드 레이저(Semiconductor diode laser)로 구현될 수 있고, 고출력(high power)의 레이저 광을 방출할 수 있다. 광원은 단일 이미터 및/또는 다중 이미터를 포함할 수 있다.
수신 광학계(30)은 광원으로부터 발생된 레이저 광을 오브젝트(40)로 송신하게 되며, 오브젝트(40)에서 반사된 광은 수신 광학계(50)로 수신된다. 수신 광학계(50)는 다수의 광 센서들로 구성될 수 있으며, 광 센서는 포토다이오드를 이용하여 수신된 광을 전기적인 신호로 변환하게 된다. 즉, 이미지 센서는 매트릭스 타입으로 배열되어 수평 방향과 수직 방향 각각에서 스캐닝된 오브젝트로부터 수신된 광을 전류로 변환하게 된다.
신호 처리부(60)는 수신 광학계(50)의 출력을 전압으로 변환하여 증폭한 다음, 증폭된 신호를 아날로그-디지털 변환기를 이용하여 디지털 신호로 변환하게 된다. 신호 처리부(60)는 디지털 데이터를 TOF(Time of flight) 알고리즘 또는 위상 시프트(phase-shift) 알고리즘으로 분석하여 오브젝트(40)과의 거리, 오브젝트 형상을 감지하게 된다.
제어부(10)는 제어유닛(ECU) 또는 네트워크를 통해 차량의 속도 정보와 노면 상태 정보를 수신할 수 있다. 제어부(10)는 네트워크를 통해 주행 환경 정보를 수신할 수 있다. 주행 환경 정보는 주행 구간의지형 정보, 교통 혼잡 정보, 날씨 등을 포함할 수 있다. 제어부(10)는 차량의 속도, 차량이 주행하는 도로의 노면 상태, 및 주행 환경 정보 중 하나 이상에 기초하여 게인을 조정할 수 있고, 오브젝트와의 거리, 오브젝트의 형상 정보를 포함하는 센서 데이터를 자유 주행 장치에 제공할 수 있다.
도 8은 도 9의 센서 시스템의 일 실시예에 따른 송신 광학계를 나타낸 측 단면도이고, 도 1의 본 실시예에 따른 송신 광학계와 대칭되는 형상을 가진 것을 확인할 수 있다.
도 8을 참조하면, 광학계(200)는 제7렌즈(201) 내지 제12렌즈(206)를 포함할 수 있다. 제7 내지 제12렌즈들(201~206)은 광학계(200)의 광축(OA)을 따라 순차적으로 배치될 수 있다. 물체의 정보에 해당하는 광은 제7렌즈(201) 내지 제9렌즈(203), 필터(211), 제10렌즈(204) 내지 제12렌즈(206) 및 커버 글라스(212)를 통과하여 광원(400)에 입사될 수 있다. 조리개(ST)는 제7렌즈(201)의 광원측 면의 둘레에 배치될 수 있다.
제7렌즈(201)는 광축(OA)에서 양(+) 또는 음(-)의 굴절력을 가질 수 있다. 제7렌즈(201)는 음(-)의 굴절력일 수 있다. 제7렌즈(201)는 플라스틱 재질 또는 유리(glass) 재질을 포함할 수 있으며, 예컨대 유리 재질일 수 있다. 유리 재질의 제7렌즈(201)는 주변 환경에 따른 온도 변화에 따른 중심 위치와 곡률반경 등의 변화를 줄여줄 수 있으며, 광학계(200)의 입사측 면을 보호할 수 있다. 제7렌즈(201)는 사출 성형되지 않는 유리 재질이다.
광축을 기준으로 제7렌즈(201)의 물체측 제13면(S21)은 오목하며, 광원측 제14면(S22)은 오목할 수 있다. 제7렌즈(201)는 양면이 오목한 형상을 가질 수 있다. 제13면(S21) 및 제14면(S22)는 구면을 가질 수 있다. 제7렌즈(201)의 제13면(S21) 및 제14면(S22)은 광축(OA)에서 유효 영역의 끝단 즉, 에지까지 임계점(Critical point) 없이 제공될 수 있다.
제7렌즈(201)의 굴절률이 n7인 경우, 1.8 < n7 또는 1.75 < n7 < 2.1의 조건을 만족할 수 있다. 제7렌즈(201)의 굴절률(n7)이 다른 렌즈들에 비해 높으므로, 제7렌즈(201)의 제13면(S21)의 곡률 반경의 커질 수 있으며, 렌즈 제작이 용이할 수 있다. 제7렌즈(201)의 굴절률(n7)이 조건보다 작은 경우, 제1,2 렌즈(101,102)의 굴절력을 증가시켜 주기 위해 렌즈 면을 급격하게 오목하거나 볼록하게 형성해야 하며, 이 경우 렌즈 제작이 용이하지 않고 렌즈 불량률도 높아지고 수율 저하의 원인이 될 수 있다.
조리개(STOP)는 제7렌즈(201)의 광원측 제14면(S22)의 둘레에 배치될 수 있다. 조리개(STOP)는 광학계(200)에서 출사되는 광량을 조절할 수 있다. 조리개(STOP)는 화각 범위 내에서 TTL을 줄여줄 수 있고, 광학계의 소형화가 가능하다. 이에 따라, 광학계의 중량별 수율(yield by weight)의 저하를 방지하고, 생산 효율의 향상을 도모할 수 있다. 또한, 화각을 10도 내지 30도에서 TTL을 줄여 광학계를 소형화할 수 있다.

LIDAR용 수신 광학계 및 신호 처리부는 광원으로부터 방출되는 광 펄스의 비행시간 측정값에 기초하여 범위 정보를 계산한다. 또한, 특정 범위에 연관된 타겟 면에 장면을 조명하고 소스와 및 프로젝터 시스템의 특정 설계에 기초하는 광 빔 프로파일에 관하여 알려져 있는 정보가 반사면에 관한 위치 정보를 결정하는 데 사용되어 완전한 x,y,z, 또는 장면의 3차원 픽처를 생성하게 된다. 다시 말하면, 주변 환경의 지점별 3D 맵은 LIDAR 시스템의 시야 내에서 소스에서 수신기까지의 조명을 반사하는 모든 표면으로부터의 위치 정보를 나타내는 측정 데이터의 모음을 나타낸다. 이러한 방식으로, LIDAR 시스템의 시야에서 물체의 3D 표현을 취득한다.
또한 자동차(502)에 대한 전형적인 주변 감지 LIDAR 시스템(500)의 2차원 시야와 범위 요건을 나타내는 개략도를 도시한다. 예를 들어, 적응형 순항 제어 기능은 "서라운드 뷰" 시야와 범위(506)를 보는 측면에 비해 좁은 시야를 갖지만, 긴 거리 범위 요건을 갖는 시야와 범위(504)를 요구할 수 있다. 일반적으로, 자동차의 센서 기능들은 LIDAR, 레이더, 카메라, 및 초음파 센서의 조합에 의해 가능해질 수 있다. 주변 환경에 대한 정보를 생성하는 이들 센서 데이터의 조합을 종종 "센서 융합"이라고 한다.
본 발명은 자율 주행 또는 자가 운전, 또는 운전자 보조형 차량에 대해 LIDAR이 널리 사용되는 자동차의 맥락에서 LIDAR 시스템을 설명하고 있지만, 실시예들이 임의의 차량에 적용될 수 있다는 점을 이해해야 한다. 다른 유형의 차량에는, 로봇, 트랙터, 트럭, 비행기, 무인 항공기, 보트, 선박 등이 포함될 수 있다.

  3. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 광축에서 상기 제4렌즈는 물체측이 볼록한 메니스커스 형상을 갖고,
    상기 광축에서 상기 제5렌즈는 물체측이 볼록한 메니스커스 형상을 갖는 수신 광학계.
  4. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제2 내지 제6렌즈는 양(+)의 굴절력을 갖고,
    상기 제3렌즈와 상기 제4렌즈 사이에 필터가 배치되는 수신 광학계.
  5. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈 중 상기 제4렌즈의 유효경은 가장 크고,
    상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈 중 상기 제6렌즈의 유효경이 가장 작은 수신 광학계.
  6. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 광축에서 상기 제2렌즈와 상기 제3렌즈의 중심 간격은 상기 제4렌즈의 중심 두께보다 큰 수신 광학계.
  7. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈의 유효경의 크기는 이미지 센서의 최대 대각 길이보다 큰 수신 광학계.
  8. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 내지 제6렌즈 중 유효경이 가장 큰 렌즈에 인접하게 배치되는 필터를 포함하는 수신 광학계.
  9. 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
    아래의 조건식을 만족하는 수신 광학계.

    0.1 < F / TTL < 0.5
    (상기 조건식에서 F는 상기 수신 광학계의 전체 초점 거리이고, TTL은 상기 수신 광학계의 전체 광축 길이이다.)
  10. 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
    아래의 조건식을 만족하는 수신 광학계.
