Description

伝送線路及び電子機器
 本発明は高周波信号を伝送する伝送線路及び当該伝送線路を備える電子機器に関する。
 特許文献1には、伝送損失を低くし、且つ、変形を容易にしようとした伝送線路が示されている。この特許文献1には、それぞれが可撓性を有する複数の樹脂層を積層してなる可撓性を有する積層体と、前記積層体の信号伝送方向に沿って延びる形状で、且つ前記積層体における複数の樹脂層の積層方向の途中位置に信号導体を配置し、前記複数の樹脂層の一部に開口を設けることによって、積層体の内部に中空部と、補強用導体と、を備えた伝送線路が示されている。
特開2020-141406号公報
 特許文献1に記載の高周波信号伝送線路では、積層体の薄い部分をフレキシブルにするため、基材としてフレキシブル材料が使用されている。そのため、積層体の厚い部分に形成されている中空部の剛性が低い。このことにより、外部応力により変形しやすく、電気的特性が不安定である。また、積層体の薄い部分における中空部の壁の形成・層間接着の難易度が高い。
 そこで、本発明の目的は、変形に対しても安定した電気的特性を保ち、中空部の壁の形成及び層間接着を容易にした伝送線路及び該伝送線路を備える電子機器を提供することにある。
 本開示の一例としての伝送線路は、
 フレキシブル基材、中空部、信号線、導電体層及び層間接続導体を有するフレキシブル基板部と、
 前記フレキシブル基材に比べてヤング率の高いリジッド基材、前記フレキシブル基材に接しない導電体層及び層間接続導体を有するリジッド基板部と、を備え、
 前記フレキシブル基板部に対して前記リジッド基板部が積層された厚部と、前記フレキシブル基板部に前記リジッド基板部が積層されていない薄部と、が構成され、
 前記信号線は前記積層の方向に視て前記フレキシブル基板部に前記厚部から前記薄部にかけて連続して通り、
 前記中空部は前記厚部において前記積層の方向に視て前記信号線に重なる位置に形成されていて、
 前記リジッド基材の少なくとも一部は前記リジッド基板部の前記導電体層と前記信号線との間に位置し、

 また、本開示の一例としての電子機器は前記伝送線路を備えることを特徴とする。
 本発明によれば、変形に対しても安定した電気的特性を保ち、中空部の壁の形成及び層間接着を容易にした伝送線路及び該伝送線路を備える電子機器が得られる。

 以降、図を参照して幾つかの具体的な例を挙げて、本発明を実施するための複数の形態を示す。各図中には同一箇所に同一符号を付している。要点の説明又は理解の容易性を考慮して、発明を実施するための形態を、説明の便宜上、複数の実施形態に分けて示すが、異なる実施形態で示した構成の部分的な省略、置換又は組み合わせは可能である。第2の実施形態以降では第1の実施形態と共通の事柄についての記述を省略し、異なる点についてのみ説明する。特に、同様の構成による同様の作用効果については実施形態毎には逐次言及しない。
《第1の実施形態》
 第1の実施形態では伝送線路の基本的な構成要素について例示する。
 図1(A)は第1の実施形態に係る伝送線路101Aの断面図であり、図1(B)は第1の実施形態に係る伝送線路101Bの断面図である。なお、断面図においては、断面に現れる(切断によって現れる)線を描画していて、断面より後方に存在する線については図示を省略している箇所がある。このことは後に示す各実施形態においても同様である。
 図1(A)に示す伝送線路101Aはフレキシブル基板部FSPとリジッド基板部RSPとを備える。フレキシブル基板部FSPは、フレキシブル基材11、中空部HS、信号線12、及び導電体層13を有する。リジッド基板部RSPはリジッド基材21及び導電体層23を有する。
 伝送線路101Aには厚部TS及び薄部TPが構成されている。厚部TSはフレキシブル基板部FSPの一方の面(X-Y面)に対してリジッド基板部RSPが積層された部分である。薄部TPはフレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPが積層されていない部分である。
 信号線12は前記積層の方向(Z方向)に視てフレキシブル基板部FSPに厚部TSから薄部TPにかけて連続して通っている。
 中空部HSは厚部TSにおいて積層の方向(Z方向)に視て信号線12に重なる位置に形成されている。
 リジッド基材21の少なくとも一部はリジッド基板部RSPの導電体層(リジッド基板部側導電体層)23と信号線12との間に位置する。
 そして、フレキシブル基材11の少なくとも一部はフレキシブル基板部FSPの導電体層(フレキシブル基板部側導電体層)13と信号線12との間に位置する。
 このような構成により、薄部TPにおいては、信号線12、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13、この信号線12とフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13との間のフレキシブル基材11によってストリップラインが構成されている。また、厚部TSにおいては、信号線12、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13、リジッド基板部側導電体層23、信号線12とリジッド基板部側導電体層23との間のリジッド基材21、フレキシブル基材11及び中空部HS、並びに信号線12とフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13との間のフレキシブル基材11によってストリップラインが構成されている。
 なお、図1(A)には表れていないが、フレキシブル基板部FSPは層間接続導体を備えている。また、リジッド基板部RSPは層間接続導体を備えている。
 フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13及びリジッド基板部側導電体層23を同電位の接地導体層とするとき、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13とリジッド基板部側導電体層23とはリジッド基板部が備える層間接続導体を介して電気的に接続されている。
 図1(B)に示す伝送線路101Bはフレキシブル基板部FSPとリジッド基板部RSPとを備える。リジッド基板部RSPはフレキシブル基板部FSPの両端の上下にそれぞれ積層されている。フレキシブル基板部FSPは、フレキシブル基材11、中空部HS、信号線12、及び導電体層13を有する。リジッド基板部RSPはリジッド基材21及び導電体層23を有する。
 このような構成により、薄部TPにおいては、信号線12、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13及び信号線12とフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13との間のフレキシブル基材11によってストリップラインが構成されている。また、厚部TSにおいては、信号線12、リジッド基板部側導電体層23、信号線12とリジッド基板部側導電体層23との間のリジッド基材21、フレキシブル基材11及び中空部HSによってストリップラインが構成されている。このように、信号線12が積層の方向(Z方向)に視てフレキシブル基板部FSPに、厚部TS-薄部TP-厚部TS、の順に連続して通っている。すなわち、信号線12の延出方向における薄部TPの両側に厚部TSが存在する。
 また、図1(B)に示した例では、中空部HSは積層の方向での信号線12の上下双方に位置する。
 フレキシブル基材11に貼付されている導電体箔は例えば銅箔であり、フレキシブル基材11の材料は例えば液晶ポリマー、ポリイミド、PTFE等である。このフレキシブル基材11のヤング率は約5GPaである。
 リジッド基材21に貼付されている導電体箔は銅箔であり、リジッド基材21の材料は、例えばガラス・エポキシ基材(エポキシ+ガラスクロスFR4)、ビスマレイミドトリアジン+ガラスクロス、セラミック(LTCCなど)等である。このように、リジッド基材21の材料として、無機材料又は有機材料に無機材料を混合させた混合材料を用いることにより、ヤング率を大きくすることができる。リジッド基材21のヤング率は約20GPaである。リジッド基材21のヤング率はフレキシブル基材11のヤング率の2倍以上であることが好ましい。リジッド性とフレキシブル性との差が明確となって、本発明の作用効果がより有効になるからである。
 フレキシブル基材11の誘電率はリジッド基材21の誘電率より低い。例えばリジッド基材21の比誘電率は3.5~5.0であり、フレキシブル基材11の比誘電率は2.2~3.5である。
 また、フレキシブル基材11の誘電正接はリジッド基材21の誘電正接より低い。例えばフレキシブル基材11の誘電正接は0.0005~0.003であり、リジッド基材21の誘電正接は0.002~0.01である。
 厚部TSにおいて、信号線12に近接する部分に、リジッド基材21より誘電率の低いフレキシブル基材11を配置していて、さらに中空部HSを形成している。これにより、信号線12に近接する部分(電界強度の高い領域)の誘電率を他の部分(電界強度の低い領域)より低くすることができる。この結果、ストリップラインの特性インピーダンスを、薄部TPにおける特性インピーダンスに合わせつつ信号線12を太くできるので、導体損失を効果的に抑制できる。
 また、フレキシブル基材11の誘電正接はリジッド基材21の誘電正接より低い。そのため、薄部TPにおけるストリップラインの伝送損失は高い誘電正接の材料を用いる場合より小さい。厚部TSにおいて、リジッド基材21の誘電正接はフレキシブル基材11より相対的に高いものの、フレキシブル基材11に中空部HSが形成されている。中空部HS内は実質的に空気であるので、中空部HSの誘電正接はフレキシブル基材11の誘電正接より低い。したがって、厚部TSにおける信号線12とリジッド基板部側導電体層23との間の誘電体の総合(平均的)誘電正接は中空部HSが無い場合より低い。このことにより、厚部TSにおけるストリップラインの伝送損失も中空部HSが無い場合より小さい。特に、信号線に近接する(電界強度の高い領域の)フレキシブル基材11の誘電正接が他の部分(電界強度の低い領域)より低いので、高周波損失が効果的に抑制できる。
 なお、隣接する中空部HSの間隔が、伝送信号の1/4波長未満であれば、信号線12の周囲の誘電率の変化にともなう、特性インピーダンスの周期的変化は問題とはならない。
 第1の実施形態によれば次のような効果を奏する。
(a)フレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPが積層された部分で厚部TSが構成され、リジッド基板部RSPが積層されていない部分で薄部TPが構成されていて、中空部HSはリジッド基板部が積層された厚部TSに形成されているので、薄部TPでのフレキシブル基板部FSPの変形が容易であり、且つ薄部TPには中空部HSがないため、薄部TPでのフレキシブル基板部FSPの変形による電気的特性の変化が抑制される。
(b)フレキシブル基板部FSPは、構造上連続したフレキシブル基材11を主たる構成要素とするので、構造上連続した基材に中空部HSを形成するため、加工が容易である。言い換えると、厚部TSと薄部TPの境界部の段差の影響を受けずに、中空部HSの加工が可能である。また、中空部HS上に平坦なリジッド基材を接着すればよく、各層間の接着の難易度が低い。
(c)図1(B)に示したように、中空部HSは、厚部TS-薄部TP-厚部TSに連続するフレキシブル基材11に形成されているため、左右の厚部TSに形成される中空部HSの相対位置精度が高い。このため、信号線12に流れる信号の位相を考慮して左右の厚部TSの中空部HSを形成することで、高周波フィルタを構成することも可能である。
(d)誘電正接が相対的に高いリジッド基板部RSPを用いながらも、誘電損失の低い伝送線路が得られる。
(e)信号線12は、全面が接地導電体層としての導電体層13,23で覆われているため、電磁波の漏れがなく、周囲の電子回路との干渉が生じない。
《第2の実施形態》
 第2の実施形態では、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層とリジッド基板部側導電体層との接続、信号線と信号線端子との接続、フレキシブル基板部側層間接続導体、リジッド基板部側層間接続導体等を図示した伝送線路について例示する。
 図2(A)、図2(B)は、第2の実施形態に係る伝送線路102の断面図である。図2(B)は図2(A)におけるY-Yでの断面図である。
 図3はフレキシブル基板部の各層及びリジッド基板部を分離した(積層前の)各層の断面図である。図4はフレキシブル基板部の各層及びリジッド基板部を分離した(積層前の)各層の平面図である。ただし、図3、図4では、図2(A)、図2(B)における保護膜PFの図示を省略している。また、図4では、図2(A)、図2(B)、図3に表れている接着層3の図示を省略している。また、図3における導電体層13とリジッド基材21の層間の接着層3の図示も省略している。
 図3に表れているように、フレキシブル基板部FSPは、それぞれ片面に導電体箔を貼付したフレキシブル基材11の積層体である。この導電体箔は積層前の段階でパターンニングする。リジッド基板部RSPは、リジッド基材21のそれぞれの片面に導電体箔を貼付したリジッド基板を基にして、導電体箔をパターンニングした基板である。
 フレキシブル基板部FSPは、それぞれの片面にパターンニングされた導電体箔を備えるフレキシブル基材11を加熱・加圧することで構成する。リジッド基板部RSPは、リジッド基材21のそれぞれの片面にパターンニングされた導電体箔を備える。
 第2の実施形態に係る伝送線路102はフレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPを、接着層3を介して接着する(積層する)ことで構成されている。また、この例では、フレキシブル基板部FSPとリジッド基板部RSPとの積層体の外面に保護膜PFを塗布形成している。ただし、後に示す信号線端子STは露出させている。保護膜PFは例えばソルダレジストの膜である。
 フレキシブル基板部FSPは、フレキシブル基材11、中空部HS、信号線12、導電体層13及び層間接続用導電体パターン15Sを有する。リジッド基板部RSPは、リジッド基材21、導電体層23、信号線端子ST及び層間接続導体24G,24Sを有する。
 リジッド基板部RSPが有する層間接続導体24Sは、例えばめっきにより形成したフィルドビアであり、該層間接続導体24Sの材料は銅である。一方、フレキシブル基板部FSPが有する層間接続導体14Sは例えば導電性ペーストの焼結体であり、該層間接続導体14Sの材料は錫、銀、銅、及びこれらの合金である。
 また、図2(A)、図2(B)、図4に表れているように、フレキシブル基板部FSPは、導電体層13、層間接続用導電体パターン15S及び層間接続導体14G,14Sを有する。
 伝送線路102は厚部TS及び薄部TPが構成されている。厚部TSはフレキシブル基板部FSPの一方の面(X-Y面)に対してリジッド基板部RSPが積層された部分である。薄部TPはフレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPが積層されていない部分である。
 信号線12は前記積層の方向(Z方向)に視てフレキシブル基板部FSPに、厚部TS-薄部TP-厚部TS、の順に連続して通っている。図4に表れているように、信号線12は、積層方向に視て、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13と重なる箇所の線幅は他の箇所の線幅に比べて細い。
 フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13をストリップラインの接地導体層として用いる箇所での特性インピーダンスは、信号線12の線幅、フレキシブル基材11の誘電率及びフレキシブル基材11の厚み寸法、によって定まる。また、リジッド基板部側導電体層23をストリップラインの接地導体層として用いる箇所での特性インピーダンスは、信号線12の線幅、リジッド基材21の誘電率及びリジッド基材21の厚み寸法、フレキシブル基材11の厚み寸法及び中空部HSの構造によって定まる。
 フレキシブル基板部側層間接続導体14Sは信号線12の端部とフレキシブル基板部の層間接続用導電体パターン15Sとを電気的に層間接続している。
 リジッド基板部側層間接続導体24Gはリジッド基板部側導電体層23とフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13とを電気的に層間接続している。
 リジッド基板部側層間接続導体24Sは信号線端子STとフレキシブル基板部の層間接続用導電体パターン15Sとを電気的に層間接続している。
 第1の実施形態で示した例と同様に、フレキシブル基材11に貼付されている導電体箔は例えば銅箔であり、フレキシブル基材11の材料は例えば液晶ポリマー、ポリイミド、PTFE等である。また、リジッド基材21に貼付されている導電体箔は銅箔であり、リジッド基材21の材料は例えばガラス・エポキシ基材(エポキシ+ガラスクロスFR4)、ビスマレイミドトリアジン+ガラスクロス、セラミック(LTCCなど)等である。
 図3、図4に表れているように、フレキシブル基材11には、積層の方向に視て信号線12に重なる位置に複数の開口部OHが形成されている。このように、導電体箔を貼付したフレキシブル基材11の積層により、図2(A)、図2(B)に表れている中空部HSは厚部TSにおいて積層の方向に視て信号線12に重なる位置に形成されている。
 図2(A)、図2(B)に表れているように、フレキシブル基板部FSPはリジッド基板部RSPより厚い。
 図2(A)、図2(B)に表れているように、信号線12を積層方向(Z方向)に挟む位置にあるリジッド基板部側導電体層23同士の間隔は、信号線12を積層方向に挟む位置にあるフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13同士の間隔より大きい。すなわち、厚部TSにおける接地導体層としてのリジッド基板部側導電体層23同士の間隔は、薄部TPにおける接地導体層としてのフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13同士の間隔より大きい。
 図4において二点鎖線で囲んで示すように、積層の方向に視て、リジッド基板部RSPの端部とフレキシブル基板部FSPとが重なる領域における、リジッド基板部RSPの導電体層23及び少なくともリジッド基板部RSPの層間接続導体24Gを含む導電体密度は、他の領域における導電体密度より高い。
 第2の実施形態によれば、次のような効果を奏する。
(a)積層方向(Z方向)から視て、信号線12のほぼ全面が接地導体層で覆われているため、ストリップラインからの電磁波の漏れがなく、伝送線路のシールド性が高まるので、周囲の電子回路との干渉が効果的に抑制される。
(b)表層のリジッド基材の剛性が高いため、全体の厚みを薄くしても中空部HSの形状を維持できる。また、中空部HSの厚みを厚くすることができ、及び合計平面積又は平均面積を大きくすることができ、このことで、誘電率と誘電正接を下げることができ、誘電体損を低損失化できる。
(c)積層の方向に視て、リジッド基板部RSPの端部とフレキシブル基板部FSPとが重なる領域における、リジッド基板部RSPの導電体層23及び少なくともリジッド基板部RSPの層間接続導体24Gを含む導電体密度は、他の領域における導電体密度より高いので、厚部TSと薄部TPとの境界部の剛性が他の部分より高い。そのため、薄部TPを変形させても厚部TSの変形が抑制され、中空部HSの変形が小さく、また境界部の破損も抑制できる。このことにより、電気的特性の安定した伝送線路が構成できる。
(d)フレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPを、接着層3を介して積層しているので、フレキシブル基板部FSPとリジッド基板部RSPとの積層構造を容易に構成できる。
(e)外表面に保護膜PFを設けることにより、外部から伝送線路102に加わる応力が保護膜PFにより緩和され、中空部HSの存在による伝送線路の強度低下が抑制される。
(f)厚部TSにおけるストリップラインの特性インピーダンスと薄部TPにおけるストリップラインの特性インピーダンスが一定になるように、信号線12の線幅を調整することで、厚部TSと薄部TPとの境界での信号の反射を抑制できる。
《第3の実施形態》
 第3の実施形態では、実装部品が実装された伝送線路について例示する。
 図5は第3の実施形態に係る伝送線路103の断面図である。フレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPを積層した構成は第1、第2の実施形態で示した例と同様である。第3の実施形態に係る伝送線路103では、上部のリジッド基板部RSPに実装部品EP1,EP2,EP3,EP4が実装されている。上部のリジッド基板部RSPの上面には実装部品を実装するための端子電極がパターンニングされている。実装部品EP1,EP4は信号線12に接続されたコネクタである。これらコネクタとしての実装部品EP1,EP4は、他の基板や部品に接続される、信号の入出力端子として作用する。
 この第3の実施形態に係る伝送線路の構造上の特徴及びその作用効果は次のとおりである。
(1)リジッド基板部RSPの外面に電子部品などの実装部品が実装されている。リジッド基板部RSPは剛性と平坦性が高いので、実装部品の実装が容易である。
(2)フレキシブル基板部FSPに複数の中空部HSが形成されているが、積層方向から視て、実装部品が重なるフレキシブル基板部FSPの位置に中空部HSが形成されている。図5に示した例では全ての実装部品EP1,EP2,EP3,EP4の下部に中空部HSが形成されている。
 このように、実装部品の実装位置が、積層方向に視て、中空部HSに重なる位置であっても、実装部品の実装部の剛性と平坦性が確保できる。また、実装部品EP1,EP2,EP3,EP4の実装時の応力による中空部HSの変形が少ない。このことにより、伝送線路の電気的特性の変化が抑制できる。したがって、フレキシブル基板部FSPの中空部HSの配置の自由度は高い。
(3)信号線12の端部付近に形成されているフレキシブル基板部側層間接続導体14S、フレキシブル基板部側の層間接続用導電体パターン15S、リジッド基板部側の層間接続導体24S、及び実装部品の端子が接続されるパッド(層間接続導体24Sが導通するパッド(ビア受けパッド))に対して、積層方向に視て重なる位置に中空部HS(図5における左右両端の中空部HS)が形成されている。
 このように、信号線12からの引き出し部のビア受けパッドに重なる位置にも中空部HSの配置が可能である。また、ビア受けパッドに重なる中空部HSの形成により、信号線12の端部付近から実装部品の端子が接続されるパッドまでの線路のインピーダンスの調整を行うことができる。
《第4の実施形態》
 第4の実施形態では、厚部TSにストリップラインを構成し、薄部TPにマイクロストリップラインを構成した、伝送線路について例示する。
 図6(A)は第4の実施形態に係る伝送線路104の断面図であり、図6(B)はフレキシブル基板部の各層及びリジッド基板部を分離した(積層前の)各層の断面図である。図7はフレキシブル基板部の各層及びリジッド基板部を分離した(積層前の)各層の平面図である。
 フレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPを積層した構成はこれまでに示した各実施形態での伝送線路と同様である。第4の実施形態に係る伝送線路104では、3層のフレキシブル基材11のうち最上層のフレキシブル基材11の上面に導電体層13を形成しているが、薄部TPには導電体層13を形成していない。最下層のフレキシブル基材11の下面に導電体層13を形成していることは、これまでに示した各実施形態での伝送線路と同様である。
 この第4の実施形態に係る伝送線路104の構造上の特徴は次のとおりである。
 厚部TSにおいて、信号線12、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13、リジッド基板部側導電体層23、信号線12とリジッド基板部側導電体層23との間のリジッド基材21、フレキシブル基材11及び中空部HS、並びに信号線12とフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13との間のフレキシブル基材11によってストリップラインが構成されている。
 薄部TPにおいては、信号線12、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13、この信号線12とフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13との間のフレキシブル基材11によってマイクロストリップラインが構成されている。
 なお、信号線12は、ストリップラインの特性インピーダンスが一定になるように、厚部TSと薄部TPとで信号線幅を定めてもよい。
 第4の実施形態によれば、薄部TPにおける導電体層の層数が少ないので、薄部TPが柔らかい。そのため、薄部TPが曲げやすい。
《第5の実施形態》
 第5の実施形態では、コプレーナラインを構成した伝送線路について例示する。
 図8は第5の実施形態に係る伝送線路105の断面図である。図9は伝送線路105のフレキシブル基板部の各層及びリジッド基板部を分離した(積層前の)各層の平面図である。
 フレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPを積層した構成はこれまでに示した各実施形態での伝送線路と同様である。第5の実施形態に係る伝送線路105では、3層のフレキシブル基材11のうち最上層のフレキシブル基材11の上面に導電体層13を形成しているが、薄部TPには導電体層13を形成していない。最下層のフレキシブル基材11の下面に導電体層13を形成しているが、薄部TPには導電体層13を形成していない。
 信号線12、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層13、フレキシブル基材11及び中空部HSによってコプレーナラインが構成されている。このコプレーナラインの特性インピーダンスは、信号線12とフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13との間隔、信号線12とフレキシブル基板部側導電体層13との対向面積、及びフレキシブル基材11の誘電率等によって定まる。
 第5の実施形態によれば、薄部TPにおける導電体層13の層数が少ないので、薄部が柔らかく、曲げやすい。
《第6の実施形態》
 第6の実施形態では、フレキシブル基板部の一方の面にのみリジッド基板部を設けた伝送線路について例示する。
 図10は第6の実施形態に係る伝送線路106の断面図である。図11は伝送線路106のフレキシブル基板部の各層及びリジッド基板部を分離した(積層前の)各層の平面図である。
 フレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPを積層した構成はこれまでに示した各実施形態での伝送線路と同様である。但し、第6の実施形態に係る伝送線路106では、フレキシブル基板部FSPの上面にのみリジッド基板部RSPを積層している。また、この第6の実施形態では、図11に示すように、2層のフレキシブル基材11のうち上部のフレキシブル基材11にのみ開口部OHを形成し、この開口部OHによって、図10に示す中空部HSを構成している。
 第6の実施形態によれば、全体の厚みの薄い伝送線路を構成できる。
《第7の実施形態》
 第7の実施形態では、フレキシブル基材の層数、フレキシブル基板部側導電体層の層数、層間接続構造、接着層の構造がこれまでに示した例とは異なる伝送線路について例示する。
 図12(A)、図12(B)は、第7の実施形態に係る伝送線路107の断面図である。図12(B)は図12(A)におけるY-Yでの断面図である。
 図13はフレキシブル基板部の各層及びリジッド基板部を分離した各層の平面図である。ただし、図13では、図12(A)、図12(B)における保護膜PFの図示を省略している。また、図13では、図12(A)、図12(B)に表れている接着層3の図示を省略している。
 図12(A)、図12(B)に表れているように、フレキシブル基板部FSPは2層のフレキシブル基材11を備える。下層のフレキシブル基材11の上面には導体箔が貼付されているが、上層のフレキシブル基材11には導体箔が貼付されていない。リジッド基板部RSPはリジッド基材21のそれぞれの片面に導電体箔を貼付したリジッド基板である。したがって、フレキシブル基材11は2層のみ存在し、導電体箔はフレキシブル基板部FSPとリジッド基板部RSPとで3層存在する。
 図12(A)、図12(B)に示す例では、中空部HSに接着層3を形成していない。
 この伝送線路107は、例えば、フレキシブル基板部FSPとリジッド基板部RSPとは全層積層することによって積層体を構成し、その積層体にスルーホールを形成し、スルーホールの内壁面又は内部を例えば銅メッキする。このことにより、フレキシブル基板部FSPとリジッド基板部RSPの層間接続導体とがまとまったスルーホールビア(信号用ビアVS及びグランド用ビアVG)を形成してもよい。また、フレキシブル基板部FSPとリジッド基板部RSPとの積層体はビルドアップ法で作ってもよい。
 第7の実施形態によれば、全体の層数及び層間接続導体が少なく、低コスト化できる。また、中空部HSの接着層をなくすことで、接着層3の誘電率及び誘電正接による誘電体損を低損失化できる。
《第8の実施形態》
 第8の実施形態では、信号線が中空部に露出していない伝送線路について例示する。
 図14は第8の実施形態に係る伝送線路108の断面図である。この伝送線路108は、それぞれ片面に導電体箔を貼付した、4層のフレキシブル基材11を備える。これら4層のフレキシブル基材11のうち最上層のフレキシブル基材11と最下層のフレキシブル基材11に、開口部による中空部HSが形成されている。その他のフレキシブル基材11には中空部HSが形成されていない。
 層間接続導体14S及び層間接続用導電体パターン15Sの数は第1の実施形態で示した例とは異なるが、その他の構成は第1の実施形態で示したものと同様である。
 第8の実施形態によれば、信号線12が中空部HSに露出していないので、信号線12の腐食が抑えられる。また、信号線12の全体がフレキシブル基材11で挟持される構造であるため、信号線12の機械的強度が強い。
《第9の実施形態》
 第9の実施形態では、リジッド基材を複数層積層した伝送線路について例示する。
 図15は第9の実施形態に係る伝送線路109の断面図である。フレキシブル基板部FSPにリジッド基板部RSPを積層した構成はこれまでに各実施形態で示した例と同様である。第9の実施形態に係る伝送線路109では、上部のリジッド基板部RSPが2層のリジッド基材21の積層体で構成されている。上部のリジッド基板部RSPには実装部品EP1,EP2,EP3,EP4が実装されている。また、上部のリジッド基板部RSPの上面には実装部品を実装するための端子電極がパターンニングされている。
 上部のリジッド基板部RSPは、リジッド基材21、導電体層23、層間接続導体24G,24S及びリジッド基板部導電体パターン25を有する。
 第9の実施形態によれば、リジッド基板部RSPの剛性が高いことにより、伝送線路の剛性が高まり、中空部HSの形状が安定化する。また、導電体パターンを配線できる層が多いため、配線の自由度が高い。
 なお、図15では、上部のリジッド基板部RSPを多層化したが、上部と下部の両方についてリジッド基板部RSPを多層化してもよい。また、実装部品を上部と下部の両方のリジッド基板部RSPに実装してもよい。
《第10の実施形態》
 第10の実施形態では、薄部に曲げ部を有する伝送線路について例示する。
 図16は第10の実施形態に係る伝送線路110の断面図である。
 この伝送線路110の基本的な構成は第2の実施形態で示した伝送線路102と同様である。特に、伝送線路110のフレキシブル基材11は熱可塑性樹脂で成り、薄部TPの塑性変形が可能である。
 図16に示す例では、薄部TPの一部に、クランク状に塑性変形させた曲げ部BSを有する。
 第10の実施形態によれば、所定形状に予め変形させた伝送線路を電子機器内に容易に組み込むことができる。
 なお、前記曲げ部の形状はクランク状に限らず、45度、90度、180度など所定角度湾曲した形状であってもよい。
《第11の実施形態》
 第11の実施形態では電子機器について例示する。
 図17は第11の実施形態に係る電子機器211の断面図である。この電子機器211は回路基板BP及び伝送線路110を備える。回路基板BPの上面には実装用のパッドPEが形成されている。このパッドPEに伝送線路110の信号線端子STをはんだ付けすることで、回路基板BPに伝送線路110を実装している。なお、図17においては、回路基板BPの内部構造の図示は省略している。
 第11の実施形態によれば、段差のある回路基板に沿って伝送線路を実装できるので、該伝送線路の実装が容易である。
 ここまで、本発明に係る種々の実施形態を提示したが、これらはすべて例であって、これら提示は本発明の範囲を限定することを意図していない。本発明に係る実施形態は、発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲で、種々の省略、置き換え、変更を行うことができる。当該種々の省略、置き換え、変更を行った実施形態は、本発明の範囲や本発明の要旨に含まれるとともに、本願の特許請求の範囲に記載された発明及びその均等の範囲内に含まれる。
 例えば、以上に示した各実施形態では、積層方向から視て円形の開口部OHによって円筒状の中空部HSを形成したが、積層方向から視た中空部HSの形状はこれに限らず、楕円形、長円形、正方形、長方形等の多角形状であってもよい。また、中空部HSは、フレキシブル基材11のそれぞれに開口部OHを形成した後に積層してもよいし、フレキシブル基板部FSPを形成した後に中空部HSを加工してもよい。
 また、各実施形態では、単一の信号線12を有する伝送線路を示したが、複数の信号線を備えていてもよい。また、この複数の信号線はフレキシブル基材11の層方向に配列してもよい。また、複数の信号線は1つの中空部HS内に配置してもよいし、それぞれの信号線に別の中空部HSを形成してもよい。
 また、各実施形態では、ストリップライン、マイクロストリップライン、コプレーナライン等の不平衡伝送線路を示したが、差動による平衡伝送線路を構成してもよい。
 また、各実施形態では、各樹脂層の積層方向から視て、長方形の高周波信号伝送線路を示したが、この形状は任意である。例えば、積層方向から視て湾曲してもよい。すなわち、積層方向から視て、信号線が曲線であってもよいし、部分的に湾曲していてもよい。
 また、伝送線路の一部を構成するフレキシブル基板部に、中空部HSを有しない別の配線パターンを設けてもよい。その配線パターンは、別の高周波信号の伝送線路、デジタル信号の伝送線路、電源用の導体等として用いてもよい。
 また、各実施形態では、薄部に層間接続導体を設けない例を示したが、薄部のフレキシブル基板部に層間接続導体を配置してもよい。

Claims (19)

  1.  フレキシブル基材、中空部及び信号線を有するフレキシブル基板部と、
     前記フレキシブル基材に比べてヤング率の高いリジッド基材、前記フレキシブル基材に接しない導電体層及び層間接続導体を有するリジッド基板部と、を備え、
     前記フレキシブル基板部に対して前記リジッド基板部が積層された厚部と、前記フレキシブル基板部に前記リジッド基板部が積層されていない薄部と、が構成され、
     前記信号線は前記積層の方向に視て前記フレキシブル基板部に前記厚部から前記薄部にかけて連続して通り、
     前記中空部は前記厚部において前記積層の方向に視て前記信号線に重なる位置に形成されていて、
     前記リジッド基材の少なくとも一部は前記リジッド基板部の前記導電体層と前記信号線との間に位置する、
     伝送線路。
  2.  前記リジッド基材のヤング率は前記フレキシブル基材のヤング率の2倍以上である、
     請求項1に記載の伝送線路。
  3.  前記リジッド基板部の前記導電体層は、接地導電体層である、
     請求項1又は2に記載の伝送線路。
  4.  前記信号線の延出方向における、前記薄部の両側に、前記厚部が存在する、
     請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  5.  前記フレキシブル基材の誘電率は前記リジッド基材の誘電率より低く、前記フレキシブル基材の誘電正接は前記リジッド基材の誘電正接より低い、
     請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  6.  前記中空部は前記積層の方向での前記信号線の上下双方に位置する、
     請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  7.  前記信号線の一部は前記中空部に露出している、
     請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  8.  前記リジッド基板部は前記フレキシブル基板部の上下に積層されている、
     請求項1から7のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  9.  前記リジッド基板部の前記導電体層は、前記信号線を前記積層の方向での前記信号線の上下双方の面又は片方の面に位置する接地導体層であり、
     前記接地導体層、前記信号線、当該信号線と前記接地導体層との間の、前記リジッド基材及び前記中空部を含む誘電体材、によってストリップラインが構成されている、
     請求項1から8のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  10.  前記フレキシブル基板部は前記フレキシブル基材に形成された導電体層を備え、
     前記フレキシブル基板部の前記導電体層は、前記信号線を前記積層の方向で重ならない位置にある接地導体層であり、
     前記接地導体層、前記信号線、当該信号線と前記接地導体層との間の、少なくとも前記フレキシブル基材及び前記中空部、によってコプレーナラインが構成されている、
     請求項1から9のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  11.  前記フレキシブル基板部に対する前記リジッド基板部の前記積層は、前記リジッド基材と前記フレキシブル基材とを接着させる接着層を介して成されている、
     請求項1から10のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  12.  前記フレキシブル基板部は前記リジッド基板部より厚い、
     請求項1から11のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  13.  前記積層の方向に視て、前記リジッド基板部の端部と前記フレキシブル基板部とが重なる領域における、前記リジッド基板部の前記導電体層及び前記リジッド基板部の前記層間接続導体を含む導電体密度は、他の領域における導電体密度より高い、
     請求項1から12のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  14.  前記リジッド基板部に実装部品が実装されていて、
     前記実装部品は前記積層の方向に視て、前記中空部と重なる位置に配置されている、
     請求項1から13のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  15.  前記リジッド基材は有機材料と無機材料との混合材又は無機材料から成る、
     請求項1から14のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  16.  前記フレキシブル基板部は前記フレキシブル基材に形成された層間接続導体を備え、
     前記リジッド基板部が有する前記層間接続導体と、前記フレキシブル基板部が有する前記層間接続導体とは、材料が異なる、
     請求項1から15のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  17.  前記フレキシブル基板部は前記フレキシブル基材に形成された層間接続導体を備え、
     前記リジッド基板部が有する前記層間接続導体及び前記フレキシブル基板部が有する前記層間接続導体は連続するスルーホールビアで構成されている、
     請求項1から15のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  18.  前記フレキシブル基材は熱可塑性樹脂で成り、
     前記薄部は、塑性変形した曲げ部を有する、
     請求項1から17のいずれかに記載の伝送線路。
  19.  請求項1から18のいずれかに記載の伝送線路を備える電子機器。
