- the control unit 71 may adjust the charge/discharge rate of the storage battery by adjusting the output voltage of the rectifier.
- the control unit 71 may stop charging or discharging the storage battery by adjusting the output voltage of the rectifier when the amount of electricity stored in the storage battery is about to fall below a lower limit or when it has reached full charge or a target charge amount.
- the control unit 71 may stop charging or discharging by disconnecting the EV from the circuit depending on the amount of electricity stored in the EV, to prevent the EV from becoming overcharged or the EV's SOC from falling below a lower limit.
- the control unit 71 may switch between charging and discharging the EV and storage battery based on time zone information and the monitoring results of surplus and shortage power of each power supply system obtained from a monitoring server.
- the control unit 71 may switch the operation of each power supply system depending on the SOC of the storage battery and EV.
- each operating pattern is as shown in Figure 2, and more specifically in Figure 5.
- the modes in Figure 5 correspond to the power patterns in Figure 2.
- step S1 it is determined whether it is daytime (step S1). If it is daytime, it is determined whether there is surplus power in the amount of power generated by the base station's solar power generation device (step S2). If there is no surplus power, it is determined whether there is demand from other base stations (step S3). If there is no demand and the SOC of the base station's EV is not below the lower limit (step S4), it is determined to be mode "1" (power pattern "1"; the same applies below).
- step S5 If there is no demand and the SOC of the base station's EV is below the lower limit and the SOC of the base station's storage battery is not below the lower limit (step S5), it is determined to be mode "2.” If it is below the lower limit, it is determined to be mode "3.” Similarly, steps S6 to S14 are determined, and modes "1" to “14" (power patterns “1” to “14") are determined.
- the DC power supply system 1 comprises two power supply systems each including a communications load, a rectifier, a storage battery, a solar power generation system, an electric vehicle (EV), a wheeling inverter, and a control unit; and a monitoring server that monitors the surplus and shortage of power in each power supply system and the charge levels of the storage batteries and EVs.
- the control unit is configured to exchange power generated by the solar power generation system and power discharged by the EV between the two power supply systems via the power transmission and distribution network, switch between regenerative power and running power in the EVs and storage batteries of each power supply system, and adjust the amount of power supplied from each power supply system by adjusting the output voltage.
- This configuration makes it possible to make better use of the power generated by solar panels than conventional base stations that only control a single station or do not have EVs. Furthermore, by appropriately setting the SOC at which EVs discharge or stop, and the target SOC when charging, it is possible to ensure backup capacity in the event of a disaster, while reducing the power costs of the entire base station through the use of renewable energy and power interchange, compared to using only storage batteries.
- the storage batteries and EVs were charged at a predetermined charge amount, but when using surplus power generated by solar panels or surplus power from other base stations to charge the storage batteries or EVs, more power than the surplus power generated must be purchased from commercial power sources, which increases electricity costs.
- the monitoring unit 75 measures the charging current of the EV and storage battery, and the control unit 71 instructs the EV charging current adjustment unit and the storage battery charging current adjustment unit to set the respective charging current amounts so that the charging current amounts of the EV and storage battery, the surplus power generated by the solar panel, and the surplus power of other base stations are equal.
- the multi-port converter according to the second embodiment includes, in addition to the configuration according to the first embodiment, an EV charging current adjustment unit 78 and a storage battery charging current adjustment unit 79.
- the control unit according to the second embodiment includes, in addition to the configuration according to the first embodiment, an EV charging current monitoring unit 718 and a storage battery charging current monitoring unit 719.
- the setting values for the charging current for EVs and storage batteries are explained using Figure 8.
- the timing for adjusting the charging current is during daytime hours when the solar panels are generating electricity, and the method for setting the charging current for the EV and storage battery depends on their respective charge levels. If neither is fully charged (or at the target charge level), the storage battery is charged first. At this time, if the surplus power from the solar panels and other base stations exceeds the instantaneous maximum charge level of the storage battery, the surplus power is charged to the EV. On the other hand, if the storage battery is fully charged (or has reached the target charge level), the EV is charged with the surplus power from the solar panels and other base stations. If the EV is fully charged (or has reached the target charge level), the storage battery is charged. If neither can be charged, the surplus power from the solar panels and other base stations is suppressed.
- control unit 71 may be further configured to adjust the charge amount of the EV by monitoring the bus voltage.
- the control unit 71 may charge the EV or storage battery with the power generated by the solar power generation device and surplus power from the power supply system by varying the charge amount of the EV or storage battery.
- the control unit 71 may charge the EV or storage battery at the maximum charge amount based on the power generated by the solar power generation device and surplus power from the power supply system, without charging from commercial power.
- the load was a communications load, but it does not have to be a communications device.
- the multi-port converter and inverter of each base station are shown separately, but they may be integrated.
- the power flow is determined, but current control may also be used.
- the storage battery is given priority for charging, but the EV may also be given priority, or the storage battery and the EV may be charged at the same amount.
