Definitions
- This invention relates to a component mounting system, and in particular to a component mounting system equipped with a cassette feeder that holds a component supply tape and a component mounting device.
- component mounting systems have been known that include a cassette feeder that holds a component supply tape and a component mounting device.
- a component mounting system is disclosed, for example, in International Publication No. 2016/013107.
- a component mounting system that includes a cassette feeder (cassette feeder) and a component mounting machine (component mounting device).
- the cassette feeder holds a tape reel wound with component supply tape in a cassette case, and supplies components via the component supply tape.
- the component mounting machine is equipped with the cassette feeder and mounts the components supplied from the cassette feeder onto a board.
- multiple cassette feeders for the same type of components may be installed in the component mounter so that if one cassette feeder runs out of components, it is possible to switch to another cassette feeder and continue producing boards.
- installing multiple cassette feeders for the same type of components in the component mounter poses the problem of reducing the variety of components that can be mounted on the component mounter.
- This invention was made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and one object of this invention is to provide a component mounting system that can increase the number of types of components that can be mounted on a component mounting device.
- a component mounting system comprises a cassette feeder that holds a component supply tape; an auto-loading cassette feeder that holds two or more component supply tapes and automatically supplies a subsequent component supply tape when a previously supplied component supply tape runs out of components; and a component mounting device to which the cassette feeder and auto-loading cassette feeder are attached and which mounts components supplied from the cassette feeder and auto-loading cassette feeder onto a board.
- a component mounting system is provided that is equipped with a cassette feeder and an auto-loading cassette feeder, as described above, and that mounts components supplied from the cassette feeder and auto-loading cassette feeder onto a board.
- the auto-loading cassette feeder holds two or more component supply tapes, and therefore, unlike a cassette feeder, there is no need to place multiple components of the same type in case of component shortages. Therefore, by attaching a cassette feeder and an auto-loading cassette feeder to the component mounting device, it is possible to increase the types of components that can be mounted on the component mounting device compared to when only a cassette feeder is attached to the component mounting device. Furthermore, both components dedicated to the cassette feeder and components dedicated to the auto-loading cassette feeder can be mounted on the component mounting device. This also increases the types of components that can be mounted on the component mounting device.
- the cassette feeder and auto-loading cassette feeder preferably have a common external structure.
- This configuration allows the cassette feeder and auto-loading cassette feeder to be placed in a common position on the component mounting device, thereby improving the flexibility of the placement of the cassette feeder and auto-loading cassette feeder on the component mounting device (i.e., component placement) compared to when the cassette feeder and auto-loading cassette feeder are placed in dedicated positions on the component mounting device.
- component placement a placement of the cassette feeder and auto-loading cassette feeder (component placement) suitable for shortening the time required to mount components on a board.
- the cassette feeder and the auto-loading cassette feeder preferably have a common positioning mechanism.
- the cassette feeder and the auto-loading cassette feeder preferably have a common mechanical connection mechanism.
- the component mounting system preferably further includes a common feeder exchange device for exchanging the cassette feeder and the autoloading cassette feeder.
- a common feeder exchange device for exchanging the cassette feeder and the autoloading cassette feeder.
- the feeder exchange device transports and replaces the cassette feeders and autoloading cassette feeders.
- the feeder exchange device can transport the cassette feeders and autoloading cassette feeders to the component mounting device and replace them, eliminating the need for a dedicated device for transporting the cassette feeders and autoloading cassette feeders to the component mounting device.
- the cassette feeders and autoloading cassette feeders can be transported and replaced while preventing the component mounting system configuration from becoming too complicated.
- a cassette holding a component supply tape is removably attached to the autoloading cassette feeder.
- This configuration allows the cassette to be replaced if a component runs out.
- the cassette is smaller and lighter than the autoloading cassette feeder. Therefore, a larger number of cassettes (components) can be transported and replaced at one time compared to transporting and replacing an autoloading cassette feeder.
- the cassette exchange device can automatically exchange cassettes, eliminating the need for an operator to exchange cassettes.
- the cassette exchange device preferably recovers the out-of-component cassette, moves the cassette supplying components to the position where the recovered out-of-component cassette was located, and places the replenishment cassette in the position where the moved cassette supplying components was located.
- the cassette exchange device can properly replace the out-of-component cassette with the replenishment cassette.
- the identification information of the component supply tape is preferably linked to the identification information of the cassette, and the identification information of the cassette is linked to the identification information of the autoloading cassette feeder.
- the identification information of the component supply tape, the identification information of the cassette, and the identification information of the autoloading cassette feeder are linked, making it possible to appropriately manage combinations of component supply tapes (cassettes) and autoloading cassette feeders.
- the cassette feeder holds one reel wound with component supply tape
- the autoloading cassette feeder holds two or more reels
- the cassette feeder and the autoloading cassette feeder are used selectively depending on the size of the reel.
- the autoloading cassette feeder uses a reel that is smaller than the reel of the cassette feeder.
- a small reel is used for the autoloading cassette feeder that holds two or more reels, which effectively prevents the autoloading cassette feeder from becoming larger.
- the cassette feeder and autoloading cassette feeder have a common external structure, it is also effective to prevent the cassette feeder from becoming larger.
- the number of components that can be mounted on a component mounting device can be increased compared to when only an autoloading cassette feeder is mounted on a component mounting device.
- the present invention makes it possible to increase the variety of components that can be mounted on a component mounting device.

- the feeder replacement device 30 replaces the feeder 50 attached to the component mounting device 11 in accordance with instructions from the management device 20. Multiple feeder replacement devices 30 are provided. The detailed configuration of the feeder replacement device 30 will be described later.
- the cassette exchange device 40 exchanges the cassette 60 (described below) attached to the component mounting device 11 in accordance with instructions from the management device 20. Multiple cassette exchange devices 40 are provided. The detailed configuration of the cassette exchange device 40 will be described later.
- the component mounting apparatus 11 is equipped with the following feeders 50: a cassette feeder 51 (hereinafter referred to as "CF 51”) that holds a component supply tape T; and an auto-loading cassette feeder 52 (hereinafter referred to as "ALCF 52”) that holds two component supply tapes T and automatically supplies a subsequent component supply tape T when the previously supplied component supply tape T runs out of components.
- the component mounting apparatus 11 mounts components supplied from the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 onto the substrate P.
- the component mounting apparatus 11 is not a system in which only the CF 51 or only the ALCF 52 is attached, but rather a hybrid system in which both the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 are attached.
- the component mounting apparatus 11 can attach any CF 51 or ALCF 52 to any attachment position (lane).
- CF51 holds one reel R around which component supply tape T is wound
- ALCF52 holds two reels R around which component supply tape T is wound.
- CF51 and ALCF52 are used depending on the size of the reel R. Specifically, a smaller reel R is used for ALCF52 than the reel R for CF51. A larger reel R is used for CF51 than the reel R for ALCF52. For example, a reel R with a diameter of 7 inches is used for ALCF52, and a reel R with a diameter greater than 7 inches but not greater than 15 inches is used for CF51.
- the number of components on one reel R held by CF51 is greater than the combined number of components on the two reels R held by ALCF52. For example, the number of components on one reel R held by CF51 is approximately twice the total number of components on two reels R held by ALCF52.
- Figure 4 shows an example of the arrangement of CFs 51 and ALCFs 52 in a component mounting device 11.
- a to H indicate the type of component.
- Two CFs 51 are arranged for each of type A and type B components. This makes it possible to switch to the other CF51 and continue production of the board P when one CF51 runs out of components for type A or type B components. Also, while continuing production of the board P by switching to the other CF51, it is possible to replace the out-of-component CF51 with a new CF51 for replenishing components.
- one ALCF 52 is provided for each of the component types C to H. Because the ALCF 52 holds two component supply tapes T (reels R), if one component supply tape T (reel R) runs out of components, it is possible to switch to the other component supply tape T (reel R) and continue production of the board P. Furthermore, while continuing production of the board P by switching to the other component supply tape T (reel R), it is possible to replace the component supply tape T (reel R) that has run out of components with a new component supply tape T (reel R) for replenishing components. Therefore, unlike the CF 51, there is no need to provide multiple ALCFs 52 for the same type of component.
- Figure 4 shows an example in which four CFs 51 are arranged together on one side and six ALCFs 52 are arranged together on the other side
- the arrangement and number of CFs 51 and ALCFs 52 are not particularly limited.
- the CFs 51 and ALCFs 52 may be arranged separately, the number of CFs 51 may be other than four, and the number of ALCFs 52 may be other than six.
- the component mounting system 100 may use an optimization program to calculate a component arrangement in the feeder bank 112 of the component mounting device 11 that is suitable for shortening the time required to mount components on the board P.
- the arrangement and number of CFs 51 and ALCFs 52 may be the arrangement and number corresponding to the component arrangement calculated by the program.

- the insertion/removal unit 33 has a hand unit 331 that holds the CFs 51 and ALCFs 52, and a drive mechanism 332 that moves the hand unit 331 in the vertical direction (Z direction), the insertion/removal direction (Y direction), and the left/right direction (X direction) perpendicular to the vertical direction and the insertion/removal direction.
- the hand unit 331 has a rod-shaped insertion unit 331a that is inserted into the exchange device engagement units 517 and 528, and a rod-shaped operating unit 331b that extends from the insertion unit 331a in a direction perpendicular to the insertion unit 331a and operates the operating units 514b and 525b.
- the feeder exchange device 30 moves the hand unit 331 above (toward the Z1 direction) the exchange device engagement unit 517 (528), and then moves it downward (toward the Z2 direction) to insert the insertion unit 331a of the hand unit 331 into the exchange device engagement unit 517 (528).
- the exchange device engagement unit 517 (528) has a first portion 517a (528a) that contacts the insertion unit 331a when inserting a CF 51 (ALCF 52), and a second portion 517b (528b) that contacts the insertion unit 331a when removing the CF 51 (ALCF 52).

- the feeder exchange device 30 moves the hand unit 331 in the Y2 direction, causing the insertion unit 331a to abut against the first portion 517a (528a) and push the first portion 517a (528a) in the Y2 direction. This causes the feeder exchange device 30 to move the CF51 (ALCF52) in the Y2 direction to insert it.
- the feeder exchange device 30 moves the hand unit 331 in the Y1 direction, causing the insertion unit 331a to abut against the second portion 517b (528b) and push the second portion 517b (528b) in the Y1 direction. This causes the feeder exchange device 30 to move the CF51 (ALCF52) in the Y1 direction to remove it.
- the operating portion 331b abuts against the operating portion 514b (525b) and pushes it downward (toward the Z2 direction). Then, the clamp portion 514a (525a), which is connected to the operating portion 514b (525b) by a connection mechanism such as a cable, rotates around the rotation center C2. This causes the clamp portion 514a (525a) to move from the clamped position to the unclamped position.
- the clamp portion 514a (525a) is moved from the unclamped position to the clamped position due to the biasing force of the biasing member 514c (525c), which biases the clamp portion 514a (525a) to move to the clamped position.
- the feeder exchange device 30 moves to the location of the feeder bank 112 of the component mounting device 11 using the travel unit 31. Then, the feeder exchange device 30 moves the hand unit 331 using the drive mechanism 332, and inserts the insertion unit 331a into the exchange device engagement unit 517 (528).
- the feeder exchange device 30 moves the CF51 (ALCF52) arranged in the storage section 32 to the feeder bank 112 of the component mounting device 11 by pushing it in the Y2 direction with the hand unit 331. The feeder exchange device 30 also inserts the mechanical connection mechanism 514 (525) with the clamp unit 514a (525a) positioned in the clamp release position into the mechanical connection mechanism 114.
- the feeder exchange device 30 removes the insertion unit 331a from the exchange device engagement unit 517 (528) and retracts the hand unit 331 with the drive mechanism 332. As a result, the feeder exchange device 30 moves the clamp portion 514a (525a) from the unclamped position to the clamped position, and engages the mechanical connection mechanism 514 (525) with the mechanical connection mechanism 114.
- the feeder replacement device 30 moves the CF51 (ALCF52) arranged in the feeder bank 112 of the component mounting device 11 to the storage section 32 by pushing it in the Y1 direction with the hand section 331.
- the insertion section 331a is inserted into the replacement device engagement section 517 (528), so the clamp section 514a (525a) is moved from the clamp position to the unclamping position.
- the feeder replacement device 30 releases the engagement between the positioning mechanism 513 (524) and the positioning mechanism 113, and the engagement between the electrical connection mechanism 515 (526) and the electrical connection mechanism 115.
- the feeder exchange device 30 removes the insertion portion 331a from the exchange device engagement portion 517 (528) and retracts the hand portion 331 using the drive mechanism 332.
- the feeder exchange device 30 removes the used CF 51 (ALCF 52) from the component mounting device 11 and inserts the CF 51 (ALCF 52) to be used into the component mounting device 11, thereby replacing the CF 51 (ALCF 52).

- the cassette exchange device 40 transports and exchanges the cassette 60.
- the cassette exchange device 40 exchanges the cassette 60 with the reel R integrally attached by inserting and removing it.
- the cassette exchange device 40 includes a travel unit 41 for autonomous travel, a storage unit 42 for storing the cassette 60, and an insertion/removal unit 43 for inserting and removing the cassette 60 between the storage unit 42 and the component mounting device 11 (the ALCF 52 attached to the component mounting device 11).
- the storage unit 42 has multiple mounting positions (lanes) where the cassettes 60 are attached.
- a cassette 60 is removably attached to each of the multiple mounting positions.
- the insertion/removal unit 43 has a hand unit 431 for holding the cassette 60 and a drive mechanism 432 for moving the hand unit 431 in the vertical direction (Z direction), the insertion/removal direction (Y direction), and the left/right direction (X direction) perpendicular to the vertical direction and the insertion/removal direction.
- the hand unit 431 has an engagement unit 431a that engages with the exchange device engagement unit 61.
- the hand unit 431 also has a reading unit 44 that reads the identification information of the cassette 60 recorded in the identification information recording unit 62.
- the reading unit 44 is, for example, a two-dimensional code reader.
- the cassette exchange device 40 moves the cassette 60 to the location of the feeder bank 112 of the component mounting device 11 by the travel unit 31.
- the cassette exchange device 40 recovers a cassette 60 that is out of components, moves a cassette 60 that is supplying components to the position where the recovered cassette 60 was located, and places a replenishment cassette 60 in the position where the moved cassette 60 was located.
- the cassette exchange device 40 recovers a cassette 60 in the lower row that is out of components, moves a cassette 60 in the upper row that is supplying components to the lower row, and places a replenishment cassette 60 in the upper row.
- the cassette exchange device 40 moves the hand unit 431 to the location of the out-of-part lower cassette 60 using the drive mechanism 432.
- the cassette exchange device 40 then reads the identification information of the cassette 60 recorded in the identification information recording unit 62 of the lower cassette 60 using the reading unit 44.
- the cassette exchange device 40 then transmits the read identification information of the cassette 60 to the management device 20.
- the cassette exchange device 40 then moves the hand unit 431 using the drive mechanism 432, thereby engaging the engagement unit 431a with the exchange device engagement unit 61 of the lower cassette 60.
- the cassette exchange device 40 then moves the hand unit 431 using the drive mechanism 432, thereby moving the cassette 60 from the ALCF 52 to the storage unit 42.

- the cassette changing device 40 then uses the drive mechanism 432 to move the hand unit 431, thereby moving the cassette 60 from the upper to the lower tier.
- the cassette exchange device 40 then uses the drive mechanism 432 to move the hand unit 431 to the location of a new replenishment cassette 60 placed in the storage unit 32.
- the cassette exchange device 40 then uses the reading unit 44 to read the identification information of the cassette 60 recorded in the identification information recording unit 62 of the cassette 60 placed in the storage unit 32.

- the cassette exchange device 40 then uses the drive mechanism 432 to move the hand unit 431, thereby moving the cassette 60 from the storage unit 42 to the ALCF 52. In this manner, the cassette exchange device 40 exchanges the cassette 60.

- the management device 20 links the identification information of the received component supply tape T (reel R) with the identification information of the cassette 60. If the identification information of the received component supply tape T (reel R) differs from the identification information of the specified component supply tape T (reel R), the management device 20 outputs an alarm because the component supply tape T (reel R) is different from the component supply tape T (reel R) that should be transported to the component mounting device 11.
- the management device 20 links the identification information of the corresponding cassette 60 and the identification information of the ALCF 52 from the production plan information for the board P based on the identification information of the component supply tape T (reel R).
- the cassette exchanging device 40 when installing or removing a cassette 60 to or from the component mounting device 11 (the ALCF 52 installed in the component mounting device 11), the cassette exchanging device 40 reads the identification information of the cassette 60 recorded in the identification information recording unit 62 by the reading unit 44. The cassette exchanging device 40 then transmits the read identification information of the cassette 60 to the management device 20. The management device 20 determines whether the received identification information of the cassette 60 is linked to the identification information of the ALCF 52 for which the cassette 60 is to be replaced. If the management device 20 determines that the received identification information of the cassette 60 is linked to the identification information of the ALCF 52 for which the cassette 60 is to be replaced, it allows the cassette exchanging device 40 to continue its work. On the other hand, if the management device 20 determines that the received identification information of the cassette 60 is not linked to the identification information of the ALCF 52 for which the cassette 60 is to be replaced, it outputs an alarm because some abnormality has occurred.
- a component mounting device 11 is provided that is equipped with CF51 and ALCF52 and that mounts components supplied from the CF51 and ALCF52 onto a substrate P.
- the ALCF52 holds two component supply tapes T, and therefore, unlike the CF51, there is no need to place multiple components of the same type in case of a component shortage. Therefore, by attaching the CF51 and ALCF52 to the component mounting device 11, it is possible to increase the variety of components that can be mounted on the component mounting device 11 compared to when only the CF51 is attached to the component mounting device 11. Furthermore, both components dedicated to the CF51 and components dedicated to the ALCF52 can be mounted on the component mounting device 11. This also increases the variety of components that can be mounted on the component mounting device 11.
- the CF51 and ALCF52 have a common external structure. This allows the CF51 and ALCF52 to be placed in a common position on the component mounting device 11, thereby improving the flexibility of the placement of the CF51 and ALCF52 (i.e., component placement) on the component mounting device 11 compared to when the CF51 and ALCF52 are placed in dedicated positions on the component mounting device 11. As a result, it is possible to easily achieve a placement of the CF51 and ALCF52 (component placement) suitable for shortening the time required to mount components on the board P.
- the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 have a common positioning mechanism (513, 524).
- the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 can be positioned on the component mounting device 11 using the common positioning mechanism (513, 524).
- the common positioning mechanism 513, 524
- the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 have a common mechanical connection mechanism (514, 525).
- the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 can be mechanically connected to the component mounting device 11 by the common mechanical connection mechanism (514, 525).
- the common mechanical connection mechanism 514, 525.
- the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 have a common electrical connection mechanism (515, 526).
- the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 when the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 are placed in a common position on the component mounting device 11, the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 can be electrically connected to the component mounting device 11 by the common electrical connection mechanism (515, 526).
- the common electrical connection mechanism 515, 526
- a common feeder exchange device 30 is provided for exchanging the CF51 and ALCF52. This allows the CF51 and ALCF52 to be exchanged using the feeder exchange device 30, eliminating the need for an operator to exchange the CF51 and ALCF52. Furthermore, there is no need to provide dedicated feeder exchange devices 30 for each of the CF51 and ALCF52. As a result, the CF51 and ALCF52 can be exchanged while preventing the configuration of the component mounting system 100 from becoming too complicated.
- the feeder exchange device 30 transports and replaces the CFs 51 and ALCFs 52.
- This allows the feeder exchange device 30 to transport the CFs 51 and ALCFs 52 to the component mounting device 11 for replacement, eliminating the need for a dedicated device for transporting the CFs 51 and ALCFs 52 to the component mounting device 11.
- the CFs 51 and ALCFs 52 can be transported and replaced while preventing the configuration of the component mounting system 100 from becoming too complicated.
- the cassette 60 holding the component supply tape T is removably attached to the ALCF 52. This allows the cassette 60 to be replaced if a component runs out.
- the cassette 60 is smaller and lighter than the ALCF 52. Therefore, a larger number of cassettes 60 (components) can be transported and replaced at one time compared to transporting and replacing the ALCF 52.
- a cassette exchange device 40 is provided to exchange the cassette 60. This allows the cassette 60 to be exchanged automatically by the cassette exchange device 40, eliminating the need for an operator to exchange the cassette 60.
- the cassette exchange device 40 collects the out-of-part cassette 60, moves the cassette 60 supplying parts to the position where the collected out-of-part cassette 60 was located, and places the replenishment cassette 60 in the position where the moved cassette 60 supplying parts was located. This allows the cassette exchange device 40 to appropriately replace the out-of-part cassette 60 with the replenishment cassette 60.
- the identification information of the component supply tape T is linked to the identification information of the cassette 60, and the identification information of the cassette 60 is linked to the identification information of the ALCF 52.
- the CF51 holds one reel R on which the component supply tape T is wound
- the ALCF52 holds two reels R
- the CF51 and the ALCF52 are used depending on the size of the reel R. This allows the CF51 and the ALCF52 to be used appropriately depending on the size of the reel R.
- a smaller reel R is used for the ALCF 52 than the reel R for the CF 51.
- a smaller reel R is used for the ALCF 52, which holds two or more reels R, and therefore, an increase in size of the ALCF 52 can be effectively prevented.
- the CF 51 and the ALCF 52 have a common external structure, an increase in size of the CF 51 can also be effectively prevented.
- the number of components that can be mounted on the component mounting device 11 can be increased compared to when only the ALCF 52 is mounted on the component mounting device 11.
- the CF and ALCF have a common external structure, a common positioning mechanism, a common mechanical connection mechanism, a common electrical connection mechanism, a common guide mechanism, and a common exchange device engagement portion, but the present invention is not limited to this.
- the CF and ALCF do not have to have some or all of the common external structure, common positioning mechanism, common mechanical connection mechanism, common electrical connection mechanism, common guide mechanism, and common exchange device engagement portion.
- a common feeder exchange device was provided for exchanging CF and ALCF, but the present invention is not limited to this.
- separate feeder exchange devices may be provided for CF and ALCF.
- a cassette holding a component supply tape (reel) was removably attached to the ALCF, but the present invention is not limited to this.
- the component supply tape (reel) may also be directly and removably attached to the ALCF.

Description

具体的には、CF51およびALCF52(カセット60が取り付けられた状態のALCF52)は、略同じ外形構造を有している。
フィーダ交換装置30は、たとえば、AGV(Automatic Guided Vehicle)を含んでいる。
フィーダ交換装置30は、たとえば、AGV(Automatic Guided Vehicle)を含んでいる。
挿入部331aは、第1部分517a(528a)と、第2部分517b(528b)との間に挿入される。
カセット交換装置40は、たとえば、AGV(Automatic Guided Vehicle)を含んでいる。
カセット交換装置40は、たとえば、AGV(Automatic Guided Vehicle)を含んでいる。
