Description

超伝導磁石装置および超伝導磁石装置用ブスバーアセンブリ
 本発明は、超伝導磁石装置および超伝導磁石装置用ブスバーアセンブリに関する。
 一般に、超伝導磁石装置は、超伝導コイルと、これを極低温に冷却した状態で収容する真空容器とを備える。超伝導コイルの電源は、真空容器の外に配置される。超伝導コイルに接続されたコイル用電極が真空容器の外側に設けられ、給電ケーブルにより電源とコイル用電極が接続される。

 本発明者は、上記の超伝導磁石装置を検討し、以下の課題を認識した。給電ケーブルの少なくとも一部は、真空容器の外側で予め定められたルートに沿って引き回される。給電ケーブルのルートは、少なくとも1つのケーブル偏向箇所を含みうる。近年の研究開発による超伝導磁石装置の小型化に伴い、真空容器表面で給電ケーブルを配置可能な面積は小さくなり、そのため、ケーブル偏向箇所での給電ケーブルの曲げ半径も小さくすることが望まれる。しかしながら、給電ケーブルは、その仕様として規定されている許容曲げ半径よりも大きい曲げ半径で偏向させなければならない。こうした制約は、ケーブル配置スペースの節約の妨げとなりうる。
 本発明のある態様の例示的な目的のひとつは、超伝導磁石装置におけるケーブル配置の省スペース化に役立つ技術を提供することにある。

 本発明によれば、超伝導磁石装置におけるケーブル配置の省スペース化に役立つ技術を提供することができる。

 以下、図面を参照しながら、本発明を実施するための形態について詳細に説明する。説明および図面において同一または同等の構成要素、部材、処理には同一の符号を付し、重複する説明は適宜省略する。図示される各部の縮尺や形状は、説明を容易にするために便宜的に設定されており、特に言及がない限り限定的に解釈されるものではない。実施の形態は例示であり、本発明の範囲を何ら限定するものではない。実施の形態に記述されるすべての特徴やその組み合わせは、必ずしも発明の本質的なものであるとは限らない。
 図1は、実施の形態に係る超伝導磁石装置10を示す模式図である。図2は、図1に示される超伝導磁石装置10のA-A線断面を模式的に示す断面図である。例示的な用途として、超伝導磁石装置10は、たとえばサイクロトロン、シンクロサイクロトロンなどの加速器、またはその他の高磁場利用機器の磁場源として高磁場利用機器に搭載され、その機器に必要とされる高磁場を発生させることができる。
 超伝導磁石装置10は、超伝導コイル12と、超伝導コイル12のための電源13と、超伝導コイル12を収容する真空容器14と、超伝導コイル12に接続され、真空容器14に設置された電流リード16と、真空容器14の外に配置され、電源13を電流リード16に接続された給電ケーブル18と、給電ケーブル18のルーティングのために真空容器14に設置されたブスバーアセンブリ20と、を備える。
 図2に示されるように、超伝導磁石装置10には、一対の超伝導コイル12が設けられていてもよい。これら2つの超伝導コイル12は、中心軸Cを中心とする同径の円環形状を有し、互いに軸方向(中心軸Cの方向)に間隔を空けて配置されていてもよい。超伝導コイル12は、その径方向内側に軸方向の磁場を生成することができる。
 真空容器14は、その内部空間に、超伝導コイル12を超伝導状態とするのに適する極低温真空環境22を提供する。真空容器14は、例えばクライオスタットである。一例として、真空容器14は、超伝導コイル12を囲む円筒状の形状を有してもよい。真空容器14は、周囲圧力(たとえば大気圧)に耐えるように、例えばステンレス鋼などの金属材料またはその他の適する高強度材料で形成される。真空容器14内の極低温真空環境22には、超伝導コイル12への熱侵入を低減するために超伝導コイル12を囲む熱シールド24も配置される。この例では、2つの熱シールド24が一対の超伝導コイル12それぞれに対応して設けられている。
 また、真空容器14には、その中空部に配置される一対のポール26と、ポール26とともに磁気回路を構成するヨーク28とが設けられている。これら2つのポール26はそれぞれが対応する超伝導コイル12の内側に配置され、鉄心付きの超伝導電磁石を構成する。ヨーク28は、上ヨーク28aと下ヨーク28bを備え、真空容器14を取り囲んでいる。超伝導磁石装置10がサイクロトロンとして利用される場合、ポール26間の隙間30には、図2では図示を省略するが、イオン源および加速電極が配置されうる。
 超伝導コイル12は、たとえば二段式のギフォード・マクマホン(Gifford-McMahon;GM)冷凍機またはその他の形式の極低温冷凍機32と熱的に結合され、超伝導転移温度以下の極低温に冷却された状態で使用される。熱シールド24が極低温冷凍機32の高温段の冷却ステージで第1冷却温度、例えば30K~80Kに冷却され、超伝導コイル12が低温段の冷却ステージで第1冷却温度よりも低い第2冷却温度、例えば3K~20Kに冷却されてもよい。この例では、超伝導磁石装置10は、超伝導コイル12を極低温冷凍機32によって直接冷却するいわゆる伝導冷却式として構成されるが、超伝導コイル12を液体ヘリウムなどの極低温液体冷媒によって冷却するいわゆる浸漬冷却式により冷却されてもよい。
 電源13は、真空容器14の外に配置され、電流リード16および給電ケーブル18により超伝導コイル12と電気接続される。電源13から電流リード16および給電ケーブル18を通じて超伝導コイル12に励磁電流が供給される。それにより、超伝導磁石装置10は、強力な磁場を発生することができる。電源13は、真空容器14とは別の建物または部屋に配置されてもよい。
 電流リード16は、少なくとも正極側と負極側で一対に設けられる。図1に示されるように、電流リード16の周囲環境側(室温側)の端部には、真空容器14の壁部を貫通して真空容器14内へと電流を導入するための気密端子16aが設けられている。図示される例においては、気密端子16aは、真空容器14の上面に設置されているが、この配置には限定されない。電流リード16の反対側(低温側)の端部は、真空容器14内で超伝導コイル12に接続される。
 給電ケーブル18には、超伝導コイル12に接続される第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aおよび第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bと、電源13に接続される第1電源側ケーブル36aおよび第2電源側ケーブル36bとが含まれる。第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aおよび第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bは、少なくともブスバーアセンブリ20の近くでは互いに平行に延び、ブスバーアセンブリ20に接続されている。また、第1電源側ケーブル36aおよび第2電源側ケーブル36b、少なくともブスバーアセンブリ20の近くでは互いに平行に延び、ブスバーアセンブリ20に接続されている。
 この例では、第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aと第1電源側ケーブル36aが正極側の給電線に用いられ、第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bと第2電源側ケーブル36bが負極側の給電線に用いられる。よって、第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aの一端が正極側の電流リード16の気密端子16aに接続され、他端がブスバーアセンブリ20を介して第1電源側ケーブル36aの一端に接続される。第1電源側ケーブル36aの他端は電源13の正極に接続される。また、第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bの一端が負極側の電流リード16の気密端子16aに接続され、他端がブスバーアセンブリ20を介して第2電源側ケーブル36bの一端に接続される。第2電源側ケーブル36bの他端は電源13の負極に接続される。なお、この例とは逆に、第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aと第1電源側ケーブル36aが負極側の給電線に用いられ、第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bと第2電源側ケーブル36bが正極側の給電線に用いられてもよい。
 第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aおよび第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bは、フレキシブルなケーブル支持体38に支持されていてもよい。ヨーク28は、上述のように、上ヨーク28aと下ヨーク28bを備えてもよい。超伝導磁石装置10のメンテナンスの際に外部から真空容器14にアクセスするための作業スペースを確保するために、ヨーク28は、下ヨーク28bから離れるように上ヨーク28aを上方に移動させることができるように構成されていてもよい。ケーブル支持体38は、一端が上ヨーク28aに接続され、他端が下ヨーク28bに接続されており、下ヨーク28bに対して上ヨーク28aが移動するときそれに追随する第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aおよび第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bの移動を許容するようにこれら給電ケーブルを支持していてもよい。
 ブスバーアセンブリ20は、後述のように、真空容器14の表面に沿って給電ケーブル18を任意の角度(図示の例では、90度)偏向させるケーブルルーティング構造を提供する。例示的な配置として、ブスバーアセンブリ20は、ヨーク28の表面に設置されてもよい。図示の例では、ブスバーアセンブリ20は例えば、下ヨーク28bの側面に設置されている。
 図3は、実施の形態に係り、超伝導磁石装置10に搭載されうるブスバーアセンブリ20の一例を模式的に示す平面図である。ブスバーアセンブリ20は、複数のブスバー、例えば外側ブスバー40aおよび内側ブスバー40bを備える。外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bは平行に配置されている。これらブスバーは、例えば銅、アルミニウムなどの良導体で形成される。また、ブスバーアセンブリ20は、支持面42aを有する支持体42を備える。支持体42は、例えばステンレス鋼などの金属材料、またはそのほか適宜の材料で形成されていてもよい。外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bはそれぞれ、支持面42a上で絶縁材を介して支持体42に支持されている。
 外側ブスバー40aは、第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aと第1電源側ケーブル36aを接続し、第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aおよび第1電源側ケーブル36aとともに外側偏向ルート44aを形成する。内側ブスバー42bは、第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bと第2電源側ケーブル36bを接続し、第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bおよび第2電源側ケーブル36bとともに内側偏向ルート44bを形成する。
 外側偏向ルート44aおよび内側偏向ルート44bは、並行して偏向されている。外側偏向ルート44aは、支持面42a上での始点A1から終点B1へと支持面42aに沿って90度偏向され、内側偏向ルート44bは、外側偏向ルート44aの内側で、支持面42a上での始点A2から終点B2へと支持面42aに沿って90度偏向されている。
 よって、外側偏向ルート44aのルート長(すなわち、外側偏向ルート44aの始点A1から終点B1への外側偏向ルート44aに沿う長さ)が、内側偏向ルート44bのルート長(すなわち、内側偏向ルート44bの始点A2から終点B2への内側偏向ルート44bに沿う長さ)よりも長くなっている。これを実現するため、外側偏向ルート44aに沿う外側ブスバー40aの長さL1が、内側偏向ルート44bに沿う内側ブスバー40bの長さL2よりも長くなっている。
 この例では、外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bを利用して給電ケーブル18の方向が切り替えられているため、給電ケーブル18自体は、ブスバーアセンブリ20の近くでケーブル偏向のために曲げられていない。第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aが外側ブスバー40aと90度の角度をなすように外側ブスバー40aの一端に取り付けられ、第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bが内側ブスバー40bと90度の角度をなすように内側ブスバー40bの一端に取り付けられている。第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aと第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bはそれぞれ、外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bから直線的に延びている。また、第1電源側ケーブル36aは、外側ブスバー40aの他端から外側ブスバー40aの長さ方向に直線的に延び、第2電源側ケーブル36bは、内側ブスバー40bの他端から内側ブスバー40bの長さ方向に直線的に延びている。
 理解のために、図1には、給電ケーブル18に規定された仕様上の許容曲げ半径Rが示されている。言い換えれば、給電ケーブル18は、許容曲げ半径Rよりも小さい曲げ半径で偏向させることが許されていない。給電ケーブル18の許容曲げ半径Rがある程度の大きさを取りうるのに対して、図3に示されるように、ブスバーアセンブリ20によって実現しうる曲げ半径rは、許容曲げ半径Rよりも小さくすることができる。上述のように、外側ブスバー40aおよび内側ブスバー40bでのケーブル方向の切替を利用しており、給電ケーブル18自体を曲げる必要が無いためである。なお、ルーティングのために必要とされる場合には、給電ケーブル18は、いくらか曲げられてもよい。
 このようにして、実施の形態に係るブスバーアセンブリ20は、給電ケーブル18の偏向をより小さいスペースに収めることができる。したがって、実施の形態によると、超伝導磁石装置10の小型化に適合させ、ケーブル配置の省スペース化を実現することができる。
 図4は、図3に示されるブスバーアセンブリ20に働く力を例示する模式図である。この例では上述のように、第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34a、外側ブスバー40aおよび第1電源側ケーブル36aが電源13の正極に接続され、第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34b、内側ブスバー40bおよび第2電源側ケーブル36bが電源13の負極に接続される。超伝導コイル12が電源13によって励磁されるとき外側ブスバー40aに流れる電流I1と内側ブスバー40bに流れる電流I2は同じ大きさで互いに逆向きとなる。超伝導コイル12が発生させる磁場Bは、ブスバーアセンブリ20の周囲で支持体42の支持面42aに沿う方向を有しうる。
 電流I1と磁場Bにより外側ブスバー40aに働く力F1と、電流I2と磁場Bにより内側ブスバー40bに働く力F2とは、互いに逆向きとなり、少なくとも部分的に相殺されうる。そのため、支持体42に働く合力は低減される。ブスバーアセンブリ20を真空容器14への固定力(例えば、ボルト固定の場合、ボルト締結力)を小さくすることができ、ブスバーアセンブリ20の固定構造を簡素化することができる。このような利点は、第1電源側ケーブル36aおよび第2電源側ケーブル36bのうち一方が電源13の正極に接続され、第1電源側ケーブル36aおよび第2電源側ケーブル36bのうち他方が電源13の負極に接続される構成により得ることができる。
 また、図3に示されるように、外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bを所定のブスバー間距離Dで支持してもよい。ブスバー間距離Dは、超伝導磁石装置10が定格電流で運転されるとき外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bとの間に生じるブスバー間電界が所定上限値を下回るように定められていてもよい。ここで、ブスバー間電界の所定上限値は、外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bとの間の放電防止の観点から定められてもよい。ブスバー間電界の所定上限値は、例えば、0.1kV/m以上、または1kV/m以上であってもよい。ブスバー間電界の所定上限値は、例えば、100MV/m以下、または100kV/m以下、または10kV/m以下であってもよい。
 図5は、実施の形態に係るブスバーアセンブリ20の他の一例を模式的に示す平面図である。図示されるように、ブスバーアセンブリ20は、外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bとの間に配置された絶縁部材46を備えてもよい。絶縁部材46は、外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bを仕切るように支持体42に設けられた壁であってもよい。絶縁部材46は、例えば、ガラス繊維強化プラスチック(GFRP)などの繊維強化プラスチック(FRP)、またはそのほか適宜の絶縁材料で形成されてもよい。このようにしても、外側ブスバー40aと内側ブスバー40bとの間の放電リスクを低減することができる。
 以上、本発明を実施例にもとづいて説明した。本発明は上記実施形態に限定されず、種々の設計変更が可能であり、様々な変形例が可能であること、またそうした変形例も本発明の範囲にあることは、当業者に理解されるところである。ある実施の形態に関連して説明した種々の特徴は、他の実施の形態にも適用可能である。組合せによって生じる新たな実施の形態は、組み合わされる実施の形態それぞれの効果をあわせもつ。
 上述の実施の形態では、超伝導コイル12側の給電ケーブル18と電源13側の給電ケーブル18とがブスバーアセンブリ20で一対一に接続される場合を例として説明しているが、本発明はこれに限られない。図6を参照して以下に説明するように、ブスバーアセンブリ20は、給電ケーブル18を分岐または合流するように構成されていてもよい。
 図6は、実施の形態に係るブスバーアセンブリ20の他の一例を模式的に示す平面図である。図示されるように、第1電源側ケーブル36aは、複数の電源側ケーブルを含んでもよく、外側ブスバー40aは、第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aを複数の電源側ケーブルへと分岐してもよい。同様に、第2電源側ケーブル36bは、複数の電源側ケーブルを含んでもよい。内側ブスバー40bは、第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bを複数の電源側ケーブルへと分岐してもよい。
 図示は省略するが、同様にして、第1超伝導コイル側ケーブル34aは、複数のコイル側ケーブルを含んでもよく、外側ブスバー40aは、第1電源側ケーブル36aを複数のコイル側ケーブルへと分岐してもよい。第2超伝導コイル側ケーブル34bは、複数のコイル側ケーブルを含んでもよく、内側ブスバー40bは、第2電源側ケーブル36bを複数のコイル側ケーブルへと分岐してもよい。
 上述の実施の形態では、ブスバーアセンブリ20が2つのブスバー(40a、40b)を有する場合を例として説明しているが、本発明はこれに限られない。図7を参照して以下に説明するように、ブスバーアセンブリ20は、3つまたはそれより多くのブスバーを備え、これらのブスバーにより3本またはそれより多くの給電ケーブル18を偏向してもよい。これらのブスバーの長さは、ケーブルの偏向の外周側に配置されるブスバーほど長くなるように定められていてもよい。
 図7は、実施の形態に係るブスバーアセンブリ20の他の一例を模式的に示す平面図である。ブスバーアセンブリ20は、外側ブスバー40aおよび内側ブスバー40bに加えて、第3ブスバー40cを備えてもよい。第3ブスバー40cは、第3電源側ケーブル36cに対する第3超伝導コイル側ケーブル34cの方向を切り替えるように、第3超伝導コイル側ケーブル34cと第3電源側ケーブル36cとを接続することができる。第3ブスバー40cは、内側ブスバー40bよりも短くてもよく、内側ブスバー40bよりも内側に配置されてもよい。
 第3超伝導コイル側ケーブル34cおよび第3電源側ケーブル36cは、超伝導コイル12と電源13を接続する第3の給電ケーブルであってもよい。超伝導磁石装置10は、超伝導コイル12とは異なる補助的な超伝導コイル、または常伝導コイル、または計測機器などその他の電気機器を備えてもよく、第3超伝導コイル側ケーブル34cおよび第3電源側ケーブル36cは、こうした機器と電源13を接続する給電ケーブルであってもよい。
 図8は、実施の形態に係るブスバーアセンブリ20の他の一例を模式的に示す平面図である。図8に示される例においても、図7に示される例と同様に、ブスバーアセンブリ20は、外側ブスバー40a、内側ブスバー40b、および第3ブスバー40cを備える。図示されるように、ブスバーアセンブリ20は、これら3つのブスバーを用いて、180度のケーブル偏向を省スペースに実現することができる。
 必要とされる場合には、複数のブスバーアセンブリ20が超伝導磁石装置10に設けられてもよい。例えば、給電ケーブル18のルートに複数の偏向箇所が含まれる場合、偏向箇所ごとにブスバーアセンブリ20が設けられてもよい。
 実施の形態にもとづき、具体的な語句を用いて本発明を説明したが、実施の形態は、本発明の原理、応用の一側面を示しているにすぎず、実施の形態には、請求の範囲に規定された本発明の思想を逸脱しない範囲において、多くの変形例や配置の変更が認められる。
 本発明は、超伝導磁石装置および超伝導磁石装置用ブスバーアセンブリの分野における利用が可能である。

Claims (11)

  1.  超伝導コイルと、
     電源と、
     前記超伝導コイルに接続される第1超伝導コイル側ケーブルおよび第2超伝導コイル側ケーブルと、
     前記電源に接続される第1電源側ケーブルおよび第2電源側ケーブルと、
      前記第1超伝導コイル側ケーブルと前記第1電源側ケーブルを接続し、前記第1超伝導コイル側ケーブルおよび前記第1電源側ケーブルとともに外側偏向ルートを形成する外側ブスバーと、
      前記第2超伝導コイル側ケーブルと前記第2電源側ケーブルを接続し、前記第2超伝導コイル側ケーブルおよび前記第2電源側ケーブルとともに内側偏向ルートを形成する内側ブスバーと、を備えるブスバーアセンブリと、を備え、
     前記外側偏向ルートおよび前記内側偏向ルートは、並行して偏向されており、前記外側偏向ルートのルート長が前記内側偏向ルートのルート長よりも長いことを特徴とする超伝導磁石装置。
  2.  前記外側偏向ルートに沿う前記外側ブスバーの長さが、前記内側偏向ルートに沿う前記内側ブスバーの長さよりも長いことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  3.  前記ブスバーアセンブリは、前記超伝導磁石装置が定格電流で運転されるとき前記外側ブスバーと前記内側ブスバーとの間に生じるブスバー間電界が所定上限値を下回るように定められたブスバー間距離で前記外側ブスバーと前記内側ブスバーを支持する支持体を備えることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  4.  前記ブスバーアセンブリは、前記外側ブスバーと前記内側ブスバーとの間に配置された絶縁部材を備えることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  5.  前記ブスバーアセンブリは、前記超伝導コイルが前記電源によって励磁されるとき前記外側ブスバーに働く電磁力と、前記超伝導コイルが前記電源によって励磁されるとき前記内側ブスバーに働く電磁力とが少なくとも部分的に相殺されるように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  6.  前記第1電源側ケーブルおよび前記第2電源側ケーブルのうち一方が前記電源の正極に接続され、前記第1電源側ケーブルおよび前記第2電源側ケーブルのうち他方が前記電源の負極に接続されることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  7.  前記第1電源側ケーブルおよび前記第2電源側ケーブルはそれぞれ、複数のケーブルを含むことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  8.  前記ブスバーアセンブリは、第3超伝導コイル側ケーブルと第3電源側ケーブルを接続する第3ブスバーをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  9.  前記ブスバーアセンブリは、前記第1電源側ケーブルに対して前記第1超伝導コイル側ケーブルを90度偏向し、前記第2電源側ケーブルに対して前記第2超伝導コイル側ケーブルを90度偏向することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  10.  前記ブスバーアセンブリは、前記第1電源側ケーブルに対して前記第1超伝導コイル側ケーブルを180度偏向し、前記第2電源側ケーブルに対して前記第2超伝導コイル側ケーブルを180度偏向することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の超伝導磁石装置。
  11.  第1超伝導コイル側ケーブルと第1電源側ケーブルを接続し、前記第1超伝導コイル側ケーブルおよび前記第1電源側ケーブルとともに外側偏向ルートを形成する外側ブスバーと、
     第2超伝導コイル側ケーブルと第2電源側ケーブルを接続し、前記第2超伝導コイル側ケーブルおよび前記第2電源側ケーブルとともに内側偏向ルートを形成する内側ブスバーと、を備え、
     前記外側偏向ルートおよび前記内側偏向ルートは、並行して偏向されており、前記外側偏向ルートのルート長が前記内側偏向ルートのルート長よりも長いことを特徴とする超伝導磁石装置用ブスバーアセンブリ。
