Description

電磁波測距装置及び電磁波測距方法
 本開示は、電磁波測距装置及び電磁波測距方法に関する。
 従来、FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave)方式によって対象物までの距離を測定する測距装置が開示されている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。この測距装置は、レーザ光源からのレーザ光が分岐された2つのレーザ光のうちの一方のレーザ光が対象物によって反射された反射光と他方のレーザ光とを干渉させた測定干渉信号と、レーザ光が分岐された他の2つのレーザ光のそれぞれに異なる遅延時間を与えて干渉させた補助干渉信号と、に基づいて、対象物までの距離を測定している。

 しかしながら、特許文献1に記載の装置は、測定干渉信号と補助干渉信号とが互いに異なる経路によって伝搬されるため、信号の伝搬経路が長くやすいという課題がある。
 本開示は、上記課題の認識を契機としてなされたものであり、従来よりも信号の伝搬経路を短縮化できる電磁波測距装置及び電磁波測距方法を提供することを目的とする。
 本開示に係る電磁波測距装置は、周波数が時間と共に変化する電磁波を発生させる電磁波発生部と、電磁波発生部によって発生した電磁波の一部を対象物に照射する照射部と、対象物に照射されて対象物で反射された電磁波の反射波と、対象物に照射されなかった電磁波と、の干渉波である測定干渉信号を生成する測定干渉信号生成部と、測定干渉信号生成部からの測定干渉信号を含む信号に基づいて、測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い基準干渉信号を生成する基準干渉信号生成部と、基準干渉信号に基づいて測定干渉信号をサンプリングするサンプリング部と、サンプリング部によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、照射部から対象物までの距離を算出する距離算出部と、を備えたことを特徴とするものである。
 本開示に係る電磁波測距装置は、対象物によって反射された電磁波の反射波と対象物に照射されなかった電磁波との干渉波である測定干渉信号と、測定干渉信号に基づいて生成された基準干渉信号と、に基づいて対象物までの距離を算出するため、測定干渉信号を伝搬させる経路と基準干渉信号を伝搬させる経路の少なくとも一部を共通化できるので、信号の伝搬経路を短縮化することができる。

 以下、本開示に係る実施の形態について図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。
実施の形態1.
 先ず、図1を参照して、実施の形態1に係る電磁波測距装置1の概略構成について説明する。図1は、実施の形態1に係る電磁波測距装置1の概略構成を示すブロック図である。電磁波測距装置1は、周波数が時間と共に変化するレーダ光を対象物に照射し、対象物からの反射波の周波数に基づいて対象物までの距離Lairを測定するFMCW-LiDAR(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave-Light Detection and Ranging)方式の測距装置である。図1に示すように、電磁波測距装置1は、光源11、照射部12、鏡筒13、分岐部14、分岐合成部15、第1信号変換部20、第2信号変換部30、及び信号処理部40を備えている。なお、図1において、破線の矢印は、光信号(光波)の伝搬経路を示しており、実線の矢印は、電気信号の伝搬経路を示している。
 光源11は、周波数が時間と共に変化するレーザ光を発生させる周波数掃引光源である。例えば、光源11は、図示しない電源からの電力の供給を受けて、周波数が時間と共に線形変化するように、連続波であるレーザ光を発生させる。なお、実施の形態1において、光源11は、電磁波を発生させる電磁波発生部を構成する。
 照射部12は、光源11によって発生したレーザ光L1を、距離を測定する対象である対象物M1に向けて照射すると共に、対象物M1の側から入力された光を分岐部14に向けて出力する。照射部12は、例えば、光サーキュレータと、光サーキュレータと鏡筒13とを接続する図示しない光ファイバと、を有して構成されており、光源11によって発生したレーザ光L1を光ファイバから鏡筒13を介して対象物M1に向けて照射すると共に、対象物M1の側から光ファイバに入力された光を分岐部14に向けて出力する。
 鏡筒13は、照射部12と対象物M1との間に配置されており、照射部12からのレーザ光の一部を集光して対象物M1に照射する。例えば、鏡筒13は、単数又は複数のレンズを有して構成され、照射部12の光ファイバと接続されており、照射部12の光ファイバから伝搬されたレーザ光の一部を集光して対象物M1に照射する。照射部12からのレーザ光のうち、一部のレーザ光L2は、鏡筒13を介して対象物M1に照射され、対象物M1で反射された反射波が再び鏡筒13を介して照射部12に入力される。また、照射部12からのレーザ光のうち、一部のレーザ光L3は、対象物M1に照射されずに照射部12から対象物M1に照射されるレーザ光L3の伝搬経路上でフレネル反射され、フレネル反射による反射波であるフレネル反射波が照射部12に入力される。
 例えば、照射部12からのレーザ光のうち、一部のレーザ光L2は、光ファイバ及び鏡筒13を介して対象物M1に照射され、対象物M1で反射された反射波が鏡筒13及び光ファイバを介して照射部12に入力される。また、照射部12からのレーザ光のうち、一部のレーザ光L3は、対象物M1に照射されずに光ファイバと鏡筒13の接続部の空気界面においてフレネル反射され、反射波が照射部12に入力される。言い換えると、照射部12からのレーザ光のうち、一部のレーザ光L3は、対象物M1に照射されずに光ファイバの対象物M1の側の端部における空気界面でフレネル反射され、反射波が照射部12に入力される。この際、レーザ光L2の対象物での反射波と、レーザ光L3のフレネル反射による反射波と、の干渉波である測定干渉信号が生成される。なお、実施の形態1において、レーザ光L3がフレネル反射される空気界面が、測定干渉信号を生成する測定干渉信号生成部を構成する。
 測定干渉信号は、照射部12から照射されたレーザ光L2が対象物M1で反射されて照射部12に入力されるまでの光路長と、照射部12から照射されたレーザ光L3がフレネル反射されて照射部12に入力されるまでの光路長と、の差である、距離Lairの2倍の距離に応じたビート周波数を有する。なお、以下の記載において、距離Lairを測定距離Lairともいう。生成された測定干渉信号は、照射部12に入射されて、分岐部14に向けて出力される。
 分岐部14は、照射部12からの測定干渉信号を分岐させる。分岐部14は、例えば、光カプラ又はビームスプリッタによって構成されており、照射部12からの測定干渉信号を2分配する。分岐部14は、分岐された一方の測定干渉信号L4を、分岐合成部15に向けて出力し、分岐された他方の測定干渉信号L5を、第2信号変換部30に向けて出力する。分岐部14で分岐された一方の測定干渉信号L4は、分岐部14で分岐された他方の測定干渉信号L5に基づいて対象物M1までの距離を算出する際の参照光として用いられる。
 分岐合成部15は、測定干渉信号を分岐点で一旦分岐させ、分岐させた一方の信号に他方の信号に対する遅延時間を与えるための遅延経路であるループ路15aを有しており、ループ路15aを伝搬させた一方の信号を他方の信号と分岐点で再び合成する。これにより、分岐合成部15は、測定干渉信号に基づいて、ループ路15aの光路長に応じたビート周波数を有する信号を生成している。なお、分岐合成部は、測定干渉信号を一旦分岐させ、分岐させた一方の信号に他方の信号に対する遅延時間を与えて再び合成するように構成されていればよく、例えば、分岐合成部は、測定干渉信号を分岐させた一方の信号を伝搬させる伝搬経路と、測定干渉信号を分岐させた他方の信号を伝搬させる伝搬経路と、を有して、それぞれの伝搬経路を伝搬させた一方の信号と他方の信号とを再び合成するように構成されていてもよい。分岐合成部がこのように構成されている場合、分岐合成部は、測定干渉信号に基づいて、一方の信号を伝搬させる伝搬経路と他方の信号を伝搬させる伝搬経路との光路長差に応じたビート周波数を有する信号を生成する。分岐合成部15は、生成した信号を第1信号変換部へ出力する。
 第1信号変換部20は、分岐合成部15から入力された信号に基づいて、測定干渉信号よりもビート周波数が高いデジタル信号である基準干渉信号を生成する。言い換えると、第1信号変換部20は、測定干渉信号に基づいて、測定干渉信号よりもビート周波数が高いデジタル信号である基準干渉信号を生成する。第1信号変換部20が生成する基準干渉信号のビート周波数は、測定干渉信号の少なくとも2倍以上であればよいが、測定干渉信号の4倍以上であることが望ましい。なお、実施の形態1において、第1信号変換部20は、基準干渉信号生成部を構成する。第1信号変換部20は、光電変換部21、バンドパスフィルタ(以下、BPF(Band-pass filter)という。)22、時間ゲート23及びAD変換部24を有している。
 光電変換部21は、分岐合成部15から入力された測定干渉信号である光信号を電気信号に変換する。例えば、光電変換部21は、フォトダイオードを有して構成されており、入力された光信号に応じた電流を生成することで、光信号を電気信号に変換する。BPF22は、光電変換部21によって光信号から変換された電気信号から、特定周波数の信号を抽出する。時間ゲート23は、BPF22が抽出した信号から特定時間の信号を抽出する。AD変換部24は、アナログ信号である時間ゲート23によって抽出された信号を、特定の周波数でサンプリングすることでデジタル信号に変換する。このようにして、第1信号変換部20は、入力された測定干渉信号に基づいて、基準干渉信号を生成している。第1信号変換部20は、生成したデジタル信号である基準干渉信号を、信号処理部40に向けて出力する。第1信号変換部20の詳細については、後述する。
 第2信号変換部30は、光電変換部31、及びAD変換部32を有している。光電変換部31は、分岐部14によって分岐された光信号である測定干渉信号L5を、光電変換によって電気信号に変換する。AD変換部32は、光電変換部31によって電気信号に変換された測定干渉信号をデジタル信号に変換して、信号処理部40に向けて出力する。光電変換部31及びAD変換部32の詳細は、光電変換部21及びAD変換部24と同様であるため、説明を省略する。
 信号処理部40は、信号取得部41、サンプリング部42、及び距離算出部43を有している。信号取得部41は、第1信号変換部20からデジタル信号である基準干渉信号を取得し、第2信号変換部30からデジタル信号である測定干渉信号を取得する。
 サンプリング部42は、信号取得部41によって取得された基準干渉信号に基づいて、信号取得部41によって取得された測定干渉信号をサンプリングする。例えば、サンプリング部42は、基準干渉信号のビート周波数に関するタイミングで測定干渉信号をサンプリングする。具体的には、サンプリング部42は、基準干渉信号の位相が0°になるゼロクロス点に対応する時刻において測定干渉信号をサンプリングする。サンプリング部42は、例えば、リサンプリング法によってサンプリングした測定干渉信号を
 なお、サンプリング部42は、信号取得部41によって取得された基準干渉信号に基づいて、信号取得部41によって取得された測定干渉信号をサンプリングするように構成されていればよく、サンプリング部は、例えば、基準干渉信号の位相が180°になるゼロクロス点に対応する時刻において測定干渉信号をサンプリングするように構成されていてもよいし、基準干渉信号の位相が0°になるゼロクロス点及び180°になるゼロクロス点に対応する時刻の両方において測定干渉信号をサンプリングするように構成されていてもよいし、基準干渉信号の位相が90°である時刻において測定干渉信号をサンプリングするように構成されていてもよいし、基準干渉信号の位相が270°である時刻において測定干渉信号をサンプリングするように構成されていてもよいし、基準干渉信号の位相が90°である時刻及び270°である時刻の両方において測定干渉信号をサンプリングするように構成されていてもよいし、基準干渉信号の変位が予め設定されたしきい値を超えた時刻において測定干渉信号をサンプリングするように構成されていてもよいし、これらのうち複数の時刻において測定干渉信号をサンプリングするように構成されていてもよい。
 距離算出部43は、サンプリング部42によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、照射部12から対象物M1までの距離Lairを算出する。言い換えると、距離算出部43は、サンプリング部42によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、照射部12の空気界面から対象物M1までの距離Lairを算出する。例えば、距離算出部43は、サンプリング部42によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、高速フーリエ変換によって測定干渉信号から周波数成分を抽出し、抽出した周波数成分の解析によって得られるビート周波数のスペクトルに基づいて、照射部12から対象物M1までの距離Lairを算出する。
 次に、図2及び図3を参照して、信号処理部40のハードウェア構成について説明する。図2は、信号処理部40のハードウェア構成の一例を示す図であり、図3は、信号処理部40のハードウェア構成の図2とは異なる例を示す図である。例えば、図2に示すように、信号処理部40は、プロセッサ40aとメモリ40bとI/Oポート40cとを有するコンピュータであり、メモリ40bに格納されるプログラムをプロセッサ40aが読み出して実行するように構成されている。
 また、例えば、図3に示すように、信号処理部40は、専用のハードウェアである処理回路40dと、I/Oポート40cとを有して、プログラムを実行するコンピュータである。処理回路40dは、例えば、単一回路、複合回路、プログラム化したプロセッサ、並列プログラム化したプロセッサ、ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit)、FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array)、又はこれらの組み合わせによって構成される。信号処理部40の各機能は、これらプロセッサ40a又は専用のハードウェアである処理回路40dがプログラムを実行することによって実現される。なお、信号処理部40は、上述した以外のハードウェアを有していてもよい。
 次に、図1、図4及び図5を参照して、電磁波測距装置1の基準干渉信号を生成する構成である第1信号変換部20の詳細について説明する。図4は、第1信号変換部20への入力に含まれる信号を示す表である。図4に示すように、第1信号変換部20には、測定干渉信号であるビート周波数が測定距離Lairの2倍(2Lair)に対応する信号、ビート周波数が分岐合成部15の遅延時間に係る光路長である遅延長さLloopに対応する信号、ビート周波数が遅延長さLloopと2Lairとの合計の長さ(Lloop+2Lair)に対応する信号、及びビート周波数が遅延長さLloopと2Lairとの差の長さ(Lloop-2Lair)に対応する信号、の4つの信号が含まれる。なお、ループ路15aを複数回ループした光信号に基づいて生成される信号については、省略する。
 図5Aは、実施の形態1に係る測定干渉信号の周波数の時間変化を示すグラフであり、図5Bは、実施の形態1に係る第1信号変換部20への入力に含まれる信号の周波数の時間変化を示すグラフである。上述したように、第1信号変換部20は、BPF22及び時間ゲート23によって、入力された測定干渉信号を含む信号から、特定周波数かつ特定時間の信号を抽出する。例えば、図5Bに示すように、第1信号変換部20は、BPF22によって周波数f1から周波数f2までの周波数帯の信号を抽出し、時間ゲート23によって時刻t1から時刻t2までの信号を抽出する。これにより、第1信号変換部20は、図5Bのグラフにおける領域A1に含まれる、ビート周波数が遅延長さLloopに対応する信号を基準干渉信号として抽出する。言い換えると、第1信号変換部20は、分岐合成部15から入力された信号から、対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波の周波数を含まない信号である、ビート周波数が遅延長さLloopに対応する信号を基準干渉信号として抽出する。
 なお、第1信号変換部20は、入力された測定干渉信号を含む信号から、特定周波数の信号及び特定時間の信号の少なくとも一方に該当する信号を抽出するように構成されていればよく、例えば、第1信号変換部20は、BPF22及び時間ゲート23のいずれか一方のみを有して、特定周波数の信号及び特定時間の信号のいずれか一方に該当する信号を抽出するように構成されていてもよい。
 次に、図1及び図6を参照して、信号処理部40が行う処理について説明する。図6は、信号処理部40が行う処理の一例を示すフローチャートである。図6に示すように、信号処理部40は、処理を開始すると、まず、測定干渉信号、及び測定干渉信号に基づいて生成された基準干渉信号を取得する(ステップST01)。この処理において、信号処理部40は、信号取得部41によって、第1信号変換部20から基準干渉信号を取得し、第2信号変換部30から測定干渉信号を取得している。
 ステップST01の処理を行うと、信号処理部40は、取得した基準干渉信号に基づいて、測定干渉信号をサンプリングする(ステップST02)。この処理において、信号処理部40は、例えば、基準干渉信号のビート周波数に関するタイミングで測定干渉信号を再びサンプリング(リサンプリング)している。
 ステップST02の処理を行うと、信号処理部40は、ステップST02の処理におけるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、高速フーリエ変換によって測定干渉信号から周波数成分を抽出する(ステップST03)。
 ステップST03の処理を行うと、信号処理部40は、抽出した周波数成分のピーク位置に基づいて、照射部12から対象物M1までの測定距離Lairを算出する(ステップST04)。ステップST04の処理を行うと、信号処理部40は、処理を終了する。
 以上、実施の形態1に係る電磁波測距装置1は、周波数が時間と共に変化するレーザ光を発生させる光源11と、光源11によって発生したレーザ光の一部を対象物M1に照射する照射部12と、対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1で反射されたレーザ光の反射波と、対象物M1に照射されなかったレーザ光と、の干渉波である測定干渉信号を生成する測定干渉信号生成部と、測定干渉信号を分岐させ、分岐させた一方の信号に他方の信号に対する遅延時間を与えて再び合成する分岐合成部15と、分岐合成部15からの信号に基づいて、測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い基準干渉信号を生成する第1信号変換部20と、基準干渉信号に基づいて測定干渉信号をサンプリングするサンプリング部42と、サンプリング部42によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、照射部12から対象物M1までの距離Lairを算出する距離算出部と、を備えている。
 このように構成されて、電磁波測距装置1は、対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波と対象物M1に照射されなかったレーザ光との干渉波である測定干渉信号と、測定干渉信号に基づいて生成された基準干渉信号と、に基づいて対象物M1までの距離Lairを算出するため、測定干渉信号を伝搬させる経路と基準干渉信号を伝搬させる経路の少なくとも一部を共通化できるので、信号の伝搬経路を短縮化することができる。
 同様に、実施の形態1に係る信号処理部40は、周波数が時間と共に変化するレーザ光の一部が対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1で反射されたレーザ光の反射波と対象物M1に照射されなかったレーザ光との干渉波である測定干渉信号と、測定干渉信号を含む信号に基づいて生成された測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い信号である基準干渉信号と、を取得する信号取得部41と、基準干渉信号に基づいて測定干渉信号をサンプリングするサンプリング部42と、サンプリング部42によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて対象物までの距離を算出する距離算出部と、を備えている。
 このように構成されて、信号処理部40は、対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波と対象物M1に照射されなかったレーザ光との干渉波である測定干渉信号と、測定干渉信号に基づいて生成された基準干渉信号と、に基づいて対象物M1までの距離Lairを算出するため、電磁波測距装置における測定干渉信号を伝搬させる経路と基準干渉信号を伝搬させる経路の少なくとも一部を共通化できるので、電磁波測距装置における信号の伝搬経路を短縮化することができる。
 また、実施の形態1に係る第1信号変換部20は、分岐合成部15からの信号から、対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波を含まない信号を抽出することで、基準干渉信号を生成するように構成されている。このように構成されて、実施の形態1に係る電磁波測距装置1は、測定距離Lairに応じて変化することがない信号を基準干渉信号として抽出するので、測定距離Lairの測定結果を安定させることが可能になる。
 なお、実施の形態1において、第1信号変換部20は、分岐合成部15から入力された信号から、対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波の周波数を含まない信号を基準干渉信号として抽出することで、基準干渉信号を生成するように構成されているが、これに限定されない。電磁波測距装置は、分岐合成部からの信号に基づいて、測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い基準干渉信号を生成するように構成されていればよく、例えば、電磁波測距装置は、分岐合成部からの信号に含まれる4つの信号のうち、ビート周波数が分岐合成部15の遅延時間に係る光路長である遅延長さLloopに対応する信号以外の信号を抽出することで基準干渉信号を生成するように構成されていてもよい。
実施の形態2.
 次に、図7から図9を参照して、実施の形態2に係る電磁波測距装置について説明する。実施の形態2に係る電磁波測距装置は、実施の形態1に係る電磁波測距装置1に対して、第1信号変換部が抽出する信号の範囲が異なるが、各部の構成については同様であり、実施の形態1と同様の構成については、実施の形態1と同様の名称及び符号を付して説明を省略する。
 図7は、実施の形態2に係る基準干渉信号が含まれる分岐合成部からの信号の周波数の時間変化を示すグラフである。実施の形態1に係る第1信号変換部20と同様に、実施の形態2に係る第1信号変換部は、BPF及び時間ゲートによって、入力された測定干渉信号を含む信号から、特定周波数かつ特定時間の信号を抽出する。例えば、図7に示すように、実施の形態2に係る第1信号変換部は、BPFによって周波数f3から周波数f4までの周波数帯の信号を抽出し、時間ゲートによって時刻t1から時刻t2までの信号を抽出する。これにより、実施の形態2に係る第1信号変換部は、分岐合成部15からの信号から、図7のグラフに示す領域A2に含まれる、ビート周波数が遅延長さLloopと2Lairとの差の長さ(Lloop-2Lair)に対応する信号を基準干渉信号として抽出する。言い換えると、実施の形態2に係る第1信号変換部は、分岐合成部15から入力された信号から、対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波の周波数を含む信号である、ビート周波数が遅延長さLloopと2Lairとの差の長さに対応する信号を基準干渉信号として抽出する。
 一般に、FMCW-LiDAR方式において、光源からのレーザ光は、周波数が時間と共に線形変化するように制御されるが、レーザ光の波長分散の影響により、周波数を完全な線形変化をさせることは難しい。しかしながら、発生した電磁波の周波数が非線形変化する場合、周波数の非線形性の影響でビート周波数のスペクトルが劣化するため、測距精度を向上させることが難しい。例えば、測定干渉信号と基準干渉信号とは互いに周波数が異なるため、電磁波測距装置の構造によっては、互いに波長分散の影響が異なることで、互いに異なる非線形性を有することになる。このような基準干渉信号に基づいて測定干渉信号をサンプリングすると、それぞれの信号の波長分散のミスマッチが発生し、測距精度を向上させることが難しい。
 これに対し、実施の形態2に係る電磁波測距装置は、光源11からのレーザ光の周波数が非線形変化する場合であっても、第1信号変換部が、分岐合成部15から入力された信号から、対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波の周波数を含む信号、即ち、測定干渉信号と同様の非線形性を有する信号である基準干渉信号として抽出し、信号処理部40が、当該基準干渉信号と、測定干渉信号と、に基づいて対象物M1までの距離を算出するように構成されているため、基準干渉信号に基づいて光源11からのレーザ光の波長分散等に起因する非線形性を補償することができる。
 以下、図8及び図9を参照して、レーザ光の非線形性の基準干渉信号による補償について説明する。図8Aは、実施の形態2に係る基準干渉信号の振幅の時間変化を示すグラフであり、図8Bは、実施の形態2に係る測定干渉信号の振幅の時間変化を示すグラフであり、図8Cは、実施の形態2に係る基準干渉信号のサンプリングの結果を示すグラフである。また、図9Aは、実施の形態2に係る基準干渉信号の周波数の時間変化を示すグラフであり、図9Bは、実施の形態2に係る測定干渉信号の周波数の時間変化を示すグラフであり、図9Cは、実施の形態2に係る基準干渉信号のサンプリングの結果における対象物までの距離と波数との関係を示すグラフであり、図9Dは、実施の形態2に係る基準干渉信号のサンプリングの結果をフーリエ変換したスペクトルを示すグラフである。図9A及び図9Bは、実施の形態2に係る第1信号変換部が生成した基準干渉信号と、測定干渉信号と、が互いに相似な非線形性を有していることを示している。
 例えば、信号処理部40において、信号取得部41が第1信号変換部から図8Aに示す信号を基準干渉信号として取得し、第2信号変換部30から図8Bに示す信号を測定干渉信号として取得し、サンプリング部42が、基準干渉信号の位相が0°になる立上りゼロクロス点(図8Aに示す丸印)に対応する時刻において、測定干渉信号をサンプリングした場合を考える。この場合、サンプリング部42は、レーザ光の非線形性に応じたタイミングで測定干渉信号のサンプリングを行うことになる。これにより、図8C及び図9Cに示すように、サンプリング部42によるサンプリングの結果において、レーザ光の非線形性による影響を抑制することができる。距離算出部43は、サンプリング部42によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、高速フーリエ変換によって測定干渉信号から周波数成分を抽出することで、図9Dに示すビート周波数のスペクトルを取得し、対象物M1までの距離Lairを算出する。
 以上、実施の形態2に係る電磁波測距装置は、分岐合成部15からの信号から、対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波の周波数を含む信号を抽出することで、基準干渉信号を生成するように構成されている。このように構成されて、実施の形態2に係る電磁波測距装置は、対象物M1に照射されるレーザ光の周波数の変化が非線形性を有している場合であっても、基準干渉信号に基づいてレーザ光の非線形性を補償することで、従来よりも対象物M1までの距離Lairの算出精度を向上させることができる。
 なお、実施の形態2において、電磁波測距装置は、分岐合成部15からの信号から、ビート周波数が遅延長さLloopと2Lairとの差の長さ(Lloop-2Lair)に対応する信号を基準干渉信号として抽出することで、基準干渉信号を生成するように構成されているが、これに限定されない。電磁波測距装置は、分岐合成部15から入力された信号から、対象物M1に照射されて対象物M1によって反射されたレーザ光の反射波の周波数を含む信号を基準干渉信号として抽出することで、基準干渉信号を生成するように構成されていればよく、例えば、電磁波測距装置は、分岐合成部15からの信号から、ビート周波数が遅延長さLloopと2Lairとの合計の長さ(Lloop+2Lair)に対応する信号を基準干渉信号として抽出することで、基準干渉信号を生成するように構成されていてもよい。
 なお、分岐合成部15からの信号から、ビート周波数が遅延長さLloopと2Lairとの差の長さ(Lloop-2Lair)に対応する信号、又はビート周波数が遅延長さLloopと2Lairとの合計の長さ(Lloop+2Lair)に対応する信号を基準干渉信号として抽出する場合、測定距離Lair、及び遅延長さLloopは、ナイキストの定理に従い、以下の数式(1)を満たすことが求められる。数式(1)において、Rは、測定距離Lairの測定レンジ、nは、光ファイバの屈折率である。

 例えば、測定距離(空気層の長さ)Lairを0.13[m]、測定レンジRを0.01[m]、光ファイバの屈折率nを1.44、遅延長さ(ループ路15aの長さ)を0.63[m]とした場合、数式(1)の左辺及び右辺は、それぞれ0.81[m]及び0.91[m]となり、数式(1)を満たす。また、基準干渉信号は、対象物M1までの距離Lairに応じてビート周波数が変化するため、それぞれの信号の帯域において、測定レンジRを満たすようにBPF22によって抽出する周波数帯域を設定することが求められる。
実施の形態3.
 次に、図10を参照して、実施の形態3に係る電磁波測距装置3について説明する。実施の形態3に係る電磁波測距装置3は、実施の形態1に係る電磁波測距装置1に対して、照射部12からの測定干渉信号に基づいて基準干渉信号を生成するための構成が異なるが、他の構成については同様であり、実施の形態1と同様の構成については、実施の形態1と同様の名称及び符号を付して説明を省略する。
 図10に示すように、実施の形態3に係る電磁波測距装置3は、光源11、照射部12、鏡筒13、光電変換部16、AD変換部32、信号変換部50、及び信号処理部40を備えている。なお、図10において、破線の矢印は、光信号(光波)の伝搬経路を示しており、実線の矢印は、電気信号の伝搬経路を示している。実施の形態1に係る電磁波測距装置1と同様に、照射部12からのレーザ光のうち、一部のレーザ光L3は、対象物M1に照射されずに光ファイバの対象物M1の側の端部における空気界面でフレネル反射され、反射波が照射部12に入力される。この際、レーザ光L2の対象物での反射波と、レーザ光L3のフレネル反射による反射波と、の干渉波である測定干渉信号が生成される。照射部12は、生成された測定干渉信号を光電変換部16に向けて出力する。
 光電変換部16は、照射部12から入力された測定干渉信号である光信号を電気信号に変換する。光電変換部16の詳細は、実施の形態1に係る光電変換部21と同様であるため、説明を省略する。光電変換部16は、電気信号に変換された測定干渉信号S1、S2を信号変換部50及びAD変換部32に向けて出力する。
 信号変換部50は、周波数変換部51、及びAD変換部24を有している。周波数変換部51は、入力された測定干渉信号S1を、より高いビート周波数を有する信号に変換することで、基準干渉信号を生成する。例えば、周波数変換部51は、入力された測定干渉信号S1をサンプリングし、サンプリングした結果に基づいて、入力された測定干渉信号S1のビート周波数が逓倍された新たなビート周波数を有する信号である基準干渉信号を生成する。なお、周波数変換部51が生成する基準干渉信号のビート周波数は、測定干渉信号の少なくとも2以上の実数倍であればよいが、測定干渉信号の4倍以上であることが望ましい。周波数変換部51は、生成した基準干渉信号をAD変換部24に向けて出力する。AD変換部24は、アナログ信号である周波数変換部51からの信号をデジタル信号に変換し、信号処理部40に向けて出力する。なお、実施の形態3において、信号変換部50は、測定干渉信号を含む信号に基づいて、測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い基準干渉信号を生成する基準干渉信号生成部を構成する。
 AD変換部32は、アナログ信号である光電変換部16からの測定干渉信号をデジタル信号に変換し、信号処理部40に向けて出力する。
 以上、実施の形態3に係る電磁波測距装置3は、基準干渉信号生成部は、測定干渉信号生成部からの測定干渉信号の周波数を実数倍することによって、測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い基準干渉信号を生成する。このように構成されて、電磁波測距装置3は、測定干渉信号が非線形性を有している場合であっても、基準干渉信号と測定干渉信号とが互いに相似である非線形性を有することになるため、基準干渉信号に基づいてレーザ光の非線形性を補償することができ、従来よりも対象物M1までの距離Lairの算出精度を向上させることができる。また、このように構成されて、電磁波測距装置3は、実施の形態1における分岐部14、分岐合成部15、BPF22、及び時間ゲート23等の構成が不要になり、部品点数の削減を図ることが可能になる。
 なお、上述した実施の形態1から3において、電磁波測距装置は、周波数が時間と共に変化するレーザ光を発生させる周波数掃引光源である光源11を備えたFMCW-LiDAR方式の測距装置であるが、これに限定されない。上述したいずれの実施の形態においても、電磁波測距装置は、周波数が時間と共に変化するレーダ光以外の電磁波を対象物に照射し、対象物からの反射波の周波数に基づいて対象物までの距離を測定するFMCW方式の測距装置であればよく、例えば、電磁波測距装置は、周波数が時間と共に変化する電波を生成する電波発生部を備え、電波発生部からの電波を対象物に照射し、対象物からの反射波の周波数に基づいて対象物までの距離を測定するFMCW方式のレーダ装置であってもよい。このような装置においても、測定干渉信号を伝搬させる経路と基準干渉信号を伝搬させる経路の少なくとも一部を共通化し、信号の伝搬経路を短縮化する効果を得ることができる。
 なお、本開示は、各実施の形態の自由な組み合わせ、あるいは各実施の形態の任意の構成要素の変形、もしくは各実施の形態において任意の構成要素の省略が可能である。
 本開示に係る電磁波測距装置は、例えば、対象物に向けて電磁波を照射した際の反射波に基づいて対象物までの距離を算出することに利用することができる。

  1.  周波数が時間と共に変化する電磁波を発生させる電磁波発生部と、
     前記電磁波発生部によって発生した前記電磁波の一部を対象物に照射する照射部と、
     前記対象物に照射されて前記対象物で反射された前記電磁波の反射波と、前記対象物に照射されなかった前記電磁波と、の干渉波である測定干渉信号を生成する測定干渉信号生成部と、
     前記測定干渉信号生成部からの前記測定干渉信号を含む信号に基づいて、前記測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い基準干渉信号を生成する基準干渉信号生成部と、
     前記基準干渉信号に基づいて前記測定干渉信号をサンプリングするサンプリング部と、
     前記サンプリング部によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、前記照射部から前記対象物までの距離を算出する距離算出部と、を備えた

  8.  前記基準干渉信号生成部は、前記分岐合成部からの信号から、前記対象物に照射されて前記対象物によって反射された前記電磁波の反射波の周波数を含まない信号を抽出することで、前記基準干渉信号を生成する
     ことを特徴とする請求項4から7のいずれか1項記載の電磁波測距装置。
  9.  前記基準干渉信号生成部は、前記分岐合成部からの信号から、前記対象物に照射されて前記対象物によって反射された前記電磁波の反射波の周波数を含む信号を抽出することで、前記基準干渉信号を生成する
     ことを特徴とする請求項4から7のいずれか1項記載の電磁波測距装置。
  10.  前記分岐合成部は、前記測定干渉信号を分岐させ、遅延時間を与えた状態で再び分岐点に戻して合成するループ路を有している
     ことを特徴とする請求項4から9のいずれか1項記載の電磁波測距装置。
  11.  前記基準干渉信号生成部は、前記測定干渉信号生成部からの前記測定干渉信号の周波数を実数倍することによって、前記測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い前記基準干渉信号を生成する
     ことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項記載の電磁波測距装置。
  12.  周波数が時間と共に変化する電磁波の一部が対象物に照射されて前記対象物で反射された前記電磁波の反射波と前記対象物に照射されなかった前記電磁波との干渉波である測定干渉信号と、前記測定干渉信号を含む信号に基づいて生成された前記測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い信号である基準干渉信号と、を取得する信号取得部と、
     前記基準干渉信号に基づいて前記測定干渉信号をサンプリングするサンプリング部と、
     前記サンプリング部によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて前記対象物までの距離を算出する距離算出部と、を備えた
     ことを特徴とする電磁波測距装置。
  13.  電磁波発生部と、照射部と、測定干渉信号生成部と、基準干渉信号生成部と、サンプリング部と、距離算出部と、を備えた装置が行う電磁波測距方法であって、
     前記電磁波発生部が、周波数が時間と共に変化する電磁波を発生させるステップと、
     前記照射部が、前記電磁波発生部によって発生した前記電磁波の一部を対象物に照射するステップと、
     前記測定干渉信号生成部が、前記対象物に照射されて前記対象物で反射された前記電磁波の反射波と、前記対象物に照射されなかった前記電磁波と、の干渉波である測定干渉信号を生成するステップと、
     前記基準干渉信号生成部が、前記測定干渉信号生成部からの前記測定干渉信号を含む信号に基づいて、前記測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い基準干渉信号を生成するステップと、
     前記サンプリング部が、前記基準干渉信号に基づいて前記測定干渉信号をサンプリングするステップと、
     前記距離算出部が、前記サンプリング部によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて、前記照射部から前記対象物までの距離を算出するステップと、を備えた
     ことを特徴とする電磁波測距方法。
  14.  信号取得部と、サンプリング部と、距離算出部と、を備えた装置が行う電磁波測距方法であって、
     前記信号取得部が、周波数が時間と共に変化する電磁波の一部が対象物に照射されて前記対象物で反射された前記電磁波の反射波と前記対象物に照射されなかった前記電磁波との干渉波である測定干渉信号と、前記測定干渉信号を含む信号に基づいて生成された前記測定干渉信号よりも周波数が高い信号である基準干渉信号と、を取得するステップと、
     前記サンプリング部が、前記基準干渉信号に基づいて前記測定干渉信号をサンプリングするステップと、
     前記距離算出部が、前記サンプリング部によるサンプリングの結果に基づいて前記対象物までの距離を算出するステップと、を備えた
     ことを特徴とする電磁波測距方法。
