- FIG. 1 is a block diagram illustrating an example of a hardware configuration of a computer.
- ⁇ Embodiment 1> 1 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a video archiving system 100 according to the present disclosure.
- the video archiving system 100 includes a video acquisition unit 110, a communication unit 120, and a setting unit 130.
- Each component included in the video archiving system 100 is connected to a network (not shown) and is capable of communicating via the network.
- the network may be wired or wireless.
- the video storage system 100 is an information system that stores video captured on roads.
- the video acquisition unit 110 is a camera that captures video.
- the video acquisition unit 110 is placed on a road where vehicles pass and captures video.
- the video acquisition unit 110 is, for example, a camera installed at the corner of an intersection.
- the communication unit 120 is a communication device that communicates with a mobile terminal 500 (not shown) carried by a mobile object moving on a road.
- the communication unit 120 communicates with the mobile terminal 500 at the location where the video was captured. In other words, the communication unit 120 communicates with the mobile object appearing in the video.
- the communication standard between the communication unit 120 and the mobile terminal 500 is not particularly limited and may be, for example, local 5G, 4G (registered trademark), 3G (registered trademark), Wi-Fi (registered trademark), etc.
- An example of a communication standard with a narrow cell area is local 5G.
- the communication unit 120 is installed near the video acquisition unit 110.
- the communication unit 120 is attached, for example, to a traffic light at the intersection where the video acquisition unit 110 is installed. Furthermore, if the video acquisition unit 110 is a mobile camera, the communication unit 120 may be a communication device that moves along with the camera. Specifically, the image acquisition unit 110 and communication unit 120 may be a mobile patrol robot or the like that has communication and image capture functions.
- Mobile terminal 500 is a communications terminal provided on a mobile object traveling on a road.
- the mobile object may be a vehicle such as an automobile, motorcycle, or bicycle, or it may be an autonomous mobile device such as a robot, or a pedestrian.
- Mobile terminal 500 may be a general-purpose terminal or a dedicated terminal.
- An example of a general-purpose terminal is a smartphone carried by a pedestrian or vehicle driver.
- An example of a dedicated terminal is an in-vehicle device installed in a vehicle.
- the setting unit 130 sets storage for the video captured by the video acquisition unit 110 based on the communication result between the communication unit 120 and the mobile terminal 500.
- the communication result indicates whether communication between the communication unit 120 and the mobile terminal 500 has been established.
- the setting unit 130 may determine that communication has been established if there is a network response when the communication unit 120 communicates with the mobile terminal 500, but the method for determining whether communication has been established is not limited to this.
- the setting unit 130 may mark the captured video to indicate that there is a problem with the communication quality. "There is a problem with the communication quality" refers to a state in which there is a lot of delay in communication, reduced throughput, a lot of missing data, etc.
- the setting unit 130 extracts video from the captured video that was captured around the time of communication and stores only the extracted video for a long period of time. In this case, the video that was not extracted is discarded after being stored for a predetermined period of time.
- the setting unit 130 can extract video captured when a moving object is present on the road, i.e., video in which an incident may have occurred, by extracting video captured around the time of communication from the video captured when the communication unit 120 communicates with the mobile terminal 500.
- FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the flow of the video storage method according to the present disclosure.
- the video acquisition unit 110 captures video on a road on which vehicles are traveling (step S101). The capturing of video in step S101 is usually performed continuously.

- Mobile terminal 500 is a communication terminal attached to a vehicle or carried by a pedestrian. As shown in FIG. 3, mobile terminal 500 includes communication unit 510. Mobile terminal 500 can communicate with communication device 420 included in video archiving system 400 via network 600.
- Network 600 is a network for wireless communication.
- Network 600 preferably uses a communication standard with a small cell area. For example, network 600 preferably uses a communication standard with a cell area radius of within several hundred meters. If the cell area of network 600 is small, communication with mobile terminal 500 is possible only when mobile terminal 500 enters the capture range of video acquisition device 410. Therefore, communication device 420 can communicate with communication terminals included in moving objects that appear in the video data. In other words, the number of communications with moving objects not appearing in the video data is reduced, thereby reducing the amount of data to be stored.
- the image capture device 410 is an example of the image capture unit 110 shown in FIG. 1.
- the image storage system 400 may include multiple image capture devices 410.
- the image storage system 400 may include four image capture devices 410a, 410b, 410c, and 410d.
- the four image capture devices 410a, 410b, 410c, and 410d may be installed at the four corners of an intersection, as shown in FIG. 4.
- the image capture devices 410 are positioned so that they can capture images of vehicles traveling on the road.
- each of the four image capture devices 410a, 410b, 410c, and 410d is installed so that its lens faces the center of the intersection.
- the image capture devices 410 transmit the captured images to the storage device 440.
- the communication device 420 is an example of the communication unit 120 shown in Figure 1.
- the communication device 420 is installed near the road where the image capture device 410 captures images.
- the mobile body 200 shown in Figure 4 has a mobile terminal 500 attached to it.
- the communication device 420 communicates with the mobile terminal 500.
- the communication device 420 may acquire terminal information of the mobile terminal 500.
- the terminal information is information for identifying the mobile terminal 500.
- the terminal information may include contact information for the owner of the mobile terminal 500.
- the communication device 420 transmits the results of communication with the mobile terminal 500 to the setting device 460.
- the communication device 420 may include the terminal information in the communication results and transmit it to the setting device 460.
- the communication device 420 may transmit the communication result to the setting device 460 as well as to the determination device 470.
- the storage device 440 is a device that stores various data. Specifically, the storage device 440 stores shooting environment data 442, shot video data 443, and stored video data 444.
- the shooting environment data 442 is data related to the shooting environment of the video acquisition device 410.
- the shooting environment data 442 is, for example, the location where the video acquisition device 410 is installed and the angle of view of the video being captured by the video acquisition device 410.

- the stored video data 444 is data of video that has been set to be stored in the setting device 460.
- the stored video data 444 is video data extracted from the shot video data 443.
- the shooting environment data 442, shot video data 443, and stored video data 444 are stored in a single storage device 440, but the shooting environment data 442, shot video data 443, and stored video data 444 may each be stored in different storage devices.
- the storage device that stores the captured video data 443 may be a storage device provided in the video acquisition device 410.
- the setting device 460 is an example of the setting unit 130 shown in FIG. 1.
- the setting device 460 performs storage settings for the captured video data 443 stored in the storage device 440 based on the communication result received from the communication device 420. Specifically, when the setting device 460 receives the communication result, i.e., when the communication device 420 communicates with the mobile terminal 500, it extracts from the captured video data 443 the video that was captured around the time of communication with the mobile terminal 500. The setting device 460 then performs storage settings for the extracted video.
- the determination device 470 determines the movement type of the mobile terminal 500.
- the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 is the type of moving object that moves with the mobile terminal 500. Examples of the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 include automobile, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian.
- the determination device 470 is configured to be able to determine whether the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 is a vehicle or a pedestrian.
- the determination device 470 is preferably configured to be able to determine the type of vehicle when the moving object is a vehicle. Examples of vehicle types include automobile, motorcycle, and bicycle.
- the method by which the determination device 470 determines the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 is not particularly limited. For example, the determination device 470 may determine the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 based on terminal information included in the communication result received from the communication device 420. The determination device 470 may also determine the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 by analyzing video data.
- the incident detection device 480 detects incidents in the video data.
- the incident detection device 480 is configured to analyze the video data and detect whether an incident is captured in the video data.
- An incident is a dangerous event that occurs on a road, such as a traffic accident between two moving objects or between a single moving object. Incidents are not limited to actual traffic accidents, but may also be attempted traffic accidents, known as near miss incidents.
- FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing the flow of the video storage method of the present disclosure.
- the video acquisition device 410 is constantly capturing images of the road.
- the communication device 420 communicates via the network 600 (step S201).
- the communication device 420 acquires the terminal information of the mobile terminal 500 during communication.
- the communication device 420 succeeds in communicating with the mobile terminal 500 (step S201 Yes)
- the determination device 470 determines the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 based on the terminal information included in the received communication result (step S202). If the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 is a vehicle (step S203: Yes), the setting device 460 performs storage settings for the video data (step S204). If the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 is not a vehicle (step S203: No), the setting device 460 does not perform storage settings for the video data. In this case, the video data is discarded after being stored for a predetermined period of time. Note that steps S202 to S204 may be performed whenever the communication device 420 successfully communicates with the mobile terminal 500 in step S201. Steps S202 to S204 may also be performed by receiving communication results from the communication device 420 at predetermined time intervals. For example, the communication device 420 may compile communication results every 24 hours and transmit them to the determination device 470 and setting device 460. In this case, steps S202 to S204 are performed every 24 hours.
- FIG. 6 is a flowchart showing the flow of the storage setting method.
- the setting device 460 When performing storage setting, the setting device 460 first sets the time of communication with the mobile terminal 500 as the reference time based on the communication result received from the communication device 420. Then, the setting device 460 identifies and extracts video data captured within a predetermined time before and after the reference time from the captured video data 443 stored in the storage device 440 (step S301). Next, the incident detection device 480 performs incident detection on the video data extracted in step S301 (step S302). If an incident is detected (step S303: Yes), the setting device 460 sets the storage period of the video data identified in step S301 to "long" (step S304).
- step S303 If no incident is detected (step S303: No), the setting device 460 sets the storage period of the video data extracted in step S301 to "short" (step S305). After setting the storage period in step S304 or step S305, the setting device 460 attaches terminal information to the video data extracted in step S301 and stores the data in the storage device 440 as stored video data 444 (step S306). Note that the "short" storage period is shorter than the "long” storage period and longer than the storage period until video data for which storage settings have not been made is discarded. Furthermore, in step S306, the video data may be attached with the terminal information as well as the shooting environment data 442 stored in the storage device 440 and stored as stored video data 444.
- the video storage method disclosed herein if the mobile terminal 500 is a vehicle and an incident is detected in the video data, the video data is stored for a long period of time. Furthermore, in the video storage method disclosed herein, if the mobile terminal 500 is a vehicle and no incident is detected in the video data, the video data is stored for a short period of time. Furthermore, if the mobile terminal 500 is not a vehicle, the video data is discarded after being stored for a predetermined period of time. Therefore, it is possible to accurately extract and store only video in which an incident may have occurred. Furthermore, in the video storage method disclosed herein, incident detection is performed only on video captured before and after communication with the mobile terminal 500. Therefore, the load on the incident detection device 480 is smaller than when incident detection is performed on all captured video.
- the trigger for setting up storage is described as the type of movement of the mobile terminal 500 being a vehicle.
- the trigger for setting up storage is not limited to the above.
- the trigger for setting up storage may be, for example, that the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 is a vehicle and that there are pedestrians on the road.

- the determination device 470 determines the movement type of the mobile terminal 500 based on the terminal information included in the received communication result (step S402).
- the determination device 470 determines whether a pedestrian is present on the road around the time of communication with the mobile terminal 500 in step S401 (step S404).
- the method by which the determination device 470 determines whether a pedestrian is present on the road in step S404 is not particularly limited.
- the determination device 470 may determine whether a pedestrian is present on the road based on the results of communication with the mobile terminal 500 carried by the pedestrian.
- the determination device 470 may also analyze video data to determine whether a pedestrian is present on the road. If a pedestrian is present on the road (step S405: Yes), the setting device 460 performs storage setting (step S406).
- step S406 The operation of the video storage system 400 in step S406 is the same as the process described with reference to FIG. 6 , and therefore will not be described here. If the trigger for setting up storage is that the mobile terminal 500's type of movement is a vehicle and there are pedestrians on the road, then video data captured when there are both vehicles and pedestrians on the road, i.e. when there is a possibility of a personal injury accident caused by a vehicle, can be stored.
- the trigger for setting up storage may be, for example, communication with multiple mobile terminals 500 and the movement type of at least one of the multiple mobile terminals 500 being a vehicle.
- the operation of the video storage system 400 in this case will be explained with reference to Figure 8.
- the communication device 420 also acquires the terminal information of the mobile terminals 500 during communication.

- the determination device 470 determines the movement type for each of the multiple mobile terminals 500 based on the terminal information included in the received communication result (step S502).
- step S504 When the determination device 470 determines that the movement type of at least one of the multiple mobile terminals 500 is a vehicle (Yes in step S503), the setting device 460 performs storage setting (step S504).
- the operation of the video storage system 400 in step S504 is the same as the process described with reference to Figure 6, and therefore will not be described further.
- the item set in the storage setting may be, for example, the length of the stored video.
- the operation of the video storage system 400 in this case will be described with reference to Figure 9.
- the setting device 460 first sets the time of communication with the mobile terminal 500 as the reference time based on the communication result received from the communication device 420.
- the setting device 460 identifies video data captured within a predetermined time before and after the reference time from the captured video data 443 stored in the storage device 440 (step S601).
- the incident detection device 480 performs incident detection on the video data identified in step S601 (step S602). If an incident is detected (step S603: Yes), the setting device 460 sets the length of the stored video to "long" (step S604).
- step S603 If no incident is detected (step S603: No), the setting device 460 sets the length of the stored video to "short" (step S605).
- the setting device 460 extracts video data of the duration set in step S604 or step S605 so that it includes the reference time. Then, the setting device 460 attaches terminal information to the video data identified in step S101 and stores it in the storage device 440 as stored video data 444 (step S606).
- the item set in the storage setting may be, for example, the number of stored images.
- the number of stored images is, for example, the number of stored images among the images captured by each of the multiple video capture devices 410.
- the number of stored images may also be the number of stored images among the multiple images captured by a single video capture device 410.
- the operation of the video storage system 400 in this case will be explained with reference to FIG. 10.
- the setting device 460 first sets the time of communication with the mobile terminal 500 as the reference time based on the communication result received from the communication device 420.
- the setting device 460 identifies video data captured within a predetermined time before and after the reference time from the captured video data 443 stored in the storage device 440 (step S701).
- the incident detection device 480 performs incident detection on the video data identified in step S701 (step S702). If an incident is detected (step S703: Yes), the setting device 460 sets the number of stored videos to “large” (step S704). If an incident is not detected (step S703: No), the setting device 460 sets the number of stored videos to “small” (step S705).
- the setting device 460 selects the number of video data set in step S704 or step S705 from the video data identified in step S701.
- the setting device 460 then attaches terminal information to the selected video data and stores it in the storage device 440 as stored video data 444 (step S706).
- selecting the set number of video data for example, video data showing a vehicle may be selected first.
- video data that is expected to clearly show an incident may be selected by referring to the shooting environment data 442 stored in the storage device 440.
- the storage capacity can be reduced.
- all video data may be selected and stored. In this way, the number of video data to be stored can be flexibly changed depending on the situation.

Description

メモリ40は、RAM(Random Access Memory)などを用いて実現される主記憶装置である。
非一時的なコンピュータ可読媒体の例は、磁気記録媒体(例えばフレキシブルディスク、磁気テープ、ハードディスクドライブ)、光磁気記録媒体(例えば光磁気ディスク)、CD-ROM(Read Only Memory)、CD-R、CD-R/W、DVD(Digital Versatile Disc)、半導体メモリ(例えば、マスクROM、PROM(Programmable ROM)、EPROM(Erasable PROM)、フラッシュROM、RAM(Random Access Memory))を含む。
