Description

予混合装置及びボイラ並びにボイラの改造方法
 本開示は、予混合装置及びボイラ並びにボイラの改造方法に関する。
 本願は、2023年6月27日に日本国特許庁に出願された特願2023-105020号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
 燃料としてのアンモニアを燃焼させるボイラ等の燃焼装置が知られている。
 特許文献1には、アンモニア燃料を燃焼させるボイラが記載されている。このボイラでは、気化器で気化したアンモニアを、エアヒータで加熱した空気と混合し、燃焼させるようになっている。

 アンモニアは、メタン等の一般的な炭化水素燃料と比べて燃焼速度が低く着火及び燃焼し難い性質を持つため、着火性を確保するためには予混合燃焼方式を採用することが考えられる。
 一方、例えば特許文献1に記載されるように気体アンモニアを燃焼装置に供給するには大きな流路面積が必要であり、アンモニア供給量を増やそうとすると設備が大きくなってしまう。また、ボイラ等の燃焼装置において、微粉燃料とアンモニアの両方を燃料として用いることを考えると、微粉燃料の搬送路にアンモニア噴射部(ノズル)を配置すると該噴射部が摩耗で損傷してしまう可能性がある。
 上述の事情に鑑みて、本発明の少なくとも一実施形態は、設備の大型化を抑制しながらアンモニア投入量を増大できるとともに、アンモニア噴射部の摩耗による損傷リスクを低減可能な予混合装置及びボイラ並びにボイラの改造方法を提供することを目的とする。
 本発明の少なくとも一実施形態に係る予混合装置は、
 加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を形成するための予混合装置であって、
 火炉に連通するとともに加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路に、液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された噴射部を備える。
 また、本発明の少なくとも一実施形態に係るボイラは、
 上述の予混合装置と、
 前記予混合装置で形成された加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を燃焼させるための火炉と、
を備える。
 また、本発明の少なくとも一実施形態に係るボイラの改造方法は、
 火炉を含むボイラに、加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を形成するための予混合装置を設置するステップを含み、
 前記予混合装置は、前記火炉に連通するとともに加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するための噴射部を含む。
 本発明の少なくとも一実施形態によれば、設備の大型化を抑制しながらアンモニア投入量を増大できるとともに、アンモニア噴射部の摩耗による損傷リスクを低減可能な予混合装置及びボイラ並びにボイラの改造方法が提供される。

 以下、添付図面を参照して本発明の幾つかの実施形態について説明する。ただし、実施形態として記載されている又は図面に示されている構成部品の寸法、材質、形状、その相対的配置等は、本発明の範囲をこれに限定する趣旨ではなく、単なる説明例にすぎない。

(ボイラの構成)
 図1は、幾つかの実施形態に係る予混合装置が適用されるボイラを表す概略構成図である。
 図1に示すように、一実施形態に係るボイラ10は、固体燃料を粉砕した微粉燃料をバーナにより燃焼させ、この燃焼により発生した熱を給水や蒸気と熱交換して過熱蒸気を生成することが可能なボイラである。固体燃料としては、バイオマス燃料や石炭などが使用される。
 ボイラ10は、火炉11と燃焼装置20と燃焼ガス通路12を有している。火炉11は、四角筒の中空形状をなして鉛直方向に沿って設置されている。火炉11の内壁面を構成する火炉壁101は、複数の伝熱管と、伝熱管同士を接続するフィンとで構成され、微粉燃料の燃焼により発生した熱を、伝熱管の内部を流通する水や蒸気と熱交換して回収すると共に、火炉壁101の温度上昇を抑制している。
 燃焼装置20は、火炉11の下部領域に設置されている。本実施形態では、燃焼装置20は、火炉壁101に装着された複数のバーナ21A、21B、21C、21D、21E、21F(以下、一括して「バーナ21」と記載する場合がある。)を有している。バーナ21は、火炉11の周方向に沿って均等間隔で配設されたもの(例えば、四角形の火炉11の各コーナ部に設置された4個)を1セットとして、鉛直方向に沿って複数段配置されたものであってもよい。なお、図1では、図示の都合上、1セットのバーナのうちの2個のみを記載し、各セットに符合21A、21B、21C、21D、21E、21Fを付している。火炉の形状やバーナの段数、一つの段におけるバーナの数、バーナの配置などは、この実施形態に限定されるものではない。
 バーナ21A、21B、21C、21D、21E、21Fは、それぞれ、複数の微粉燃料供給管22A、22B、22C、22D、22E、22F(以下、一括して「微粉燃料供給管22」と記載する場合がある。)を介して、複数のミル(粉砕機)31A、31B、31C、31D、31E、31F(以下、一括して「ミル31」と記載する場合がある。)に連結されている。ミル31は、例えば、内部に粉砕テーブル(図示省略)が駆動回転可能に支持されていて、粉砕テーブルの上方に複数の粉砕ローラ(図示省略)が粉砕テーブルの回転に連動回転可能に支持されて構成されている竪型ローラミルである。粉砕ローラと粉砕テーブルが協働して粉砕された固体燃料は、ミル31に供給される一次空気(搬送用ガス、酸化性ガス)により、ミル31が備える分級機(図示省略)に搬送される。分級機では、バーナ21での燃焼に適した粒径以下の微粉燃料と、該粒径より大きな粗粉燃料とに分級される。微粉燃料は、分級機を通過して、一次空気と共に微粉燃料供給管22を介してバーナ21に供給される。分級機を通過しなかった粗粉燃料は、ミル31の内部で、自重により粉砕テーブル上に落下し、再粉砕される。
 バーナ21の装着位置における火炉11の炉外側には、風箱(エアレジスタ)23が設けられており、この風箱23には風道(空気ダクト)24の一端部が連結されている。風道24の他端部には、押込通風機(FDF:Forced Draft Fan)32が連結されている。押込通風機32から供給された空気は、風道24に設置された空気予熱器42で加熱され(詳細は後述する)、風箱23を介してバーナ21に二次空気(燃焼用空気、酸化性ガス)として供給され、火炉11の内部に投入される。
 燃焼ガス通路12は、火炉11の鉛直方向上部に連結されている。燃焼ガス通路12には、燃焼ガスの熱を回収するための熱交換器として、過熱器102A、102B、102C(以下、一括して「過熱器102」と記載する場合がある。)、再熱器103A、103B(以下、一括して「再熱器103」と記載する場合がある。)、節炭器104が設けられており、火炉11で発生した燃焼ガスと各熱交換器の内部を流通する給水や蒸気との間で熱交換が行われる。なお、各熱交換器の配置や形状は、図1に記載した形態に限定されない。
 燃焼ガス通路12の下流側には、熱交換器で熱回収された燃焼ガスが排出される煙道13が連結されている。煙道13には、風道24との間に空気予熱器(エアヒータ)42が設けられており、風道24を流れる空気と、煙道13を流れる燃焼ガスとの間で熱交換を行い、ミル31に供給する一次空気やバーナ21に供給する二次空気を加熱することで、水や蒸気との熱交換後の燃焼ガスから、さらに熱回収を行う。
 また、煙道13には、空気予熱器42よりも上流側の位置に、脱硝装置43が設けられていてもよい。脱硝装置43は、アンモニア、尿素水等の窒素酸化物を還元する作用を有する還元剤を、煙道13内を流通する燃焼ガスに供給し、還元剤が供給された燃焼ガス中の窒素酸化物(NOx)と還元剤との反応を、脱硝装置43内に設置された脱硝触媒の触媒作用により促進させることで、燃焼ガス中の窒素酸化物を除去、低減するものである。煙道13の空気予熱器42より下流側には、ガスダクト41が連結されている。ガスダクト41には、燃焼ガス中の灰などを除去する電気集じん機などの集じん装置44や硫黄酸化物を除去する脱硫装置46などの環境装置、また、それらの環境装置に排ガスを導くための誘引通風機(IDF:Induced Draft Fan)45が設けられている。ガスダクト41の下流端部は、煙突47に連結されており、環境装置で処理された燃焼ガスが、排ガスとして系外に排出される。
 ボイラ10において、複数のミル31が駆動すると、粉砕、分級された微粉燃料が、一次空気と共に微粉燃料供給管22を介してバーナ21に供給される。また、空気予熱器42で加熱された二次空気が、風道24から風箱23を介してバーナ21に供給される。バーナ21は、微粉燃料と一次空気とが混合した微粉燃料混合気を火炉11に吹き込むと共に、二次空気を火炉11に吹き込む。火炉11に吹き込まれた微粉燃料混合気が着火し、二次空気と反応することで火炎を形成する。火炉11内の下部領域で火炎が形成され、高温の燃焼ガスが火炉11内を上昇し、燃焼ガス通路12に流入する。なお、本実施形態では、酸化性ガス(一次空気、二次空気)として空気を用いるが、空気よりも酸素割合が多いものや逆に少ないものであってもよく、供給される燃料量に対する酸素量の比率を適正な範囲に調整することで、火炉11において安定した燃焼が実現される。
 燃焼ガス通路12に流入した燃焼ガスは、燃焼ガス通路12の内部に配置された過熱器102、再熱器103、節炭器104で水や蒸気と熱交換した後、煙道13に排出され、脱硝装置43で窒素酸化物が除去され、空気予熱器42で一次空気及び二次空気と熱交換した後、さらにガスダクト41に排出され、集じん装置44で灰などが除去され、脱硫装置46で硫黄酸化物が除去された後、煙突47から系外に排出される。なお、燃焼ガス通路12における各熱交換器及び煙道13からガスダクト41における各装置の配置は、燃焼ガス流れに対して、必ずしも上述の記載順に配置されなくともよい。
 上述した実施形態では、本発明のボイラを、燃料に固体燃料を使用するボイラとして説明した。ボイラに使用される固体燃料としては、石炭、バイオマス燃料、石油コークス(PC:Petroleum Coke)燃料、石油残渣などが使用される。
 なお、ボイラの燃料としては、固体燃料に限らず、重油、軽油、重質油などの石油類や工場廃液、液化アンモニアなどの液体燃料も使用することができる。また、天然ガスや各種石油ガス、製鉄プロセスなどで発生する副生ガス、水素ガス、アンモニアガスなどの気体燃料も使用することができる。
 さらに、これらの各種燃料を組み合わせて使用する混焼ボイラにも適用することができる。
 以下に説明する実施形態に係る予混合装置が適用されるボイラは、石炭等の微粉燃料とアンモニアとを燃焼装置で混焼させることが可能な混焼ボイラである。
 図2は、一実施形態に係るボイラを構成するバーナ21の概略図である。一実施形態に係るバーナ21(上述のバーナ21A~21Fの各々)は、図2に示すように、上下方向における中央部に位置する中央バーナ60と、中央バーナ60の上下に位置する微粉燃料バーナ50A,50B(以下、微粉燃料バーナ50と総称する)を備えている。また、これらのバーナ群(中央バーナ60及び微粉燃料バーナ50A、50B)の上下には、燃焼用空気ノズル56が設けられている。
 微粉燃料バーナ50は、微粉燃料ノズル52と、空気ノズル54と、を含む。微粉燃料ノズル52は、微粉燃料供給管22から供給される一次空気及び該一次空気によって搬送される微粉燃料(微粉炭等)を火炉11に吹き込むようになっている。空気ノズル54は、空気ダクト24から供給される二次空気(エアヒータ42で加熱された加熱空気)を火炉11に吹き込むようになっている。
 中央バーナ60は、拡散燃焼用の燃料を空気とともに火炉11に吹き込むようになっている。
 図2に示す実施形態では、中央バーナ60は、油燃料を火炉11に吹き込むように構成された油燃料ノズル62と、油燃料ノズル62の周囲を囲むように設けられる空気ノズル66と、を含む。空気ノズル66は、空気ダクト24から供給される二次空気(エアヒータ42で加熱された加熱空気)を火炉11に吹き込むように構成されていてもよい。
 燃焼用空気ノズル56は、空気ダクト24から供給される二次空気(エアヒータ42で加熱された加熱空気)を火炉11に吹き込むように構成されていてもよい。
 なお、典型的な微粉炭焚きボイラでは、図2に示す構成のバーナが用いられることがある。このような構成を有するバーナに、後述する実施形態に係る予混合装置を設置することで(例えば既存のボイラを改造することで)、一実施形態に係るボイラを得ることができる。
(予混合装置の構成)
 次に、幾つかの実施形態に係る予混合装置について説明する。図3~図9は、それぞれ、一実施形態に係る予混合装置の概略図である。
 一実施形態に係る予混合装置72は、加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を形成するための予混合装置である。図3~図9に示すように、予混合装置72は、火炉11に連通するとともに加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路74に、液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された噴射部76を備える。
 本明細書において、加熱空気は、加熱器で加熱された空気を意味する。加熱空気の温度は200度以上であってもよい。加熱空気は、例えばエアヒータ42で加熱された上述の二次空気であってもよい。
 図3~図9に示す実施形態では、一例として図3に示すように、噴射部76には、液体アンモニア貯留部118からの液体アンモニアが、液体アンモニア供給ライン120を介して供給されるようになっていてもよい。液体アンモニア供給ライン120には、液体アンモニアの噴射部76への供給量を調節するためのバルブ122が設けられていてもよい。また、加熱空気流路74には、空気ダクト24からの二次空気(加熱空気)が、加熱空気ライン124を介して供給されるようになっていてもよい。加熱空気ライン124には、加熱空気流路74への加熱空気の供給量を調節するためのバルブ126が設けられていてもよい。
 上述の実施形態では、火炉11に連通する加熱空気流路74に液体アンモニアが噴射されるので、高温の加熱空気流路74内にて比較的気化熱の大きい液体アンモニアが気化されやすく、アンモニアと空気の予混合気を円滑に形成することができる。よって、液体アンモニア燃料を用いた予混合燃焼を実現することができる。また、火炉11に連通する加熱空気流路74には、通常、微粉燃料(微粉炭等)は流通しない。即ち、上述の実施形態では、微粉燃料が通らない流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、該液体アンモニアを噴射する噴射部76(ノズル)の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。よって、上述の実施形態によれば、設備の大型化を抑制しながらアンモニア投入量を増大できるとともに、噴射部76の摩耗による損傷リスクを低減することができる。
 なお、燃焼装置においてアンモニアの液体成分が残存していると、着火性が悪化したりアンモニア未燃分が排出されたりする可能性がある。この点、上述の実施形態では、高温の加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路74に液体アンモニアを噴射するので、液体アンモニアが気化しやすく、このような問題が生じ難い。
 図3に示す例示的な実施形態では、加熱空気流路74は、微粉燃料を火炉11に供給するための微粉燃料供給管22に接続される予混合気管78によって形成される。また、噴射部76は、予混合気管78の内部に液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された第1液体アンモニアノズル80を含む。
 上述の実施形態では、微粉燃料を火炉11に供給するための微粉燃料供給管22に接続される予混合気管78が加熱空気流路74を形成し、噴射部76(第1液体アンモニアノズル80)は該加熱空気流路74に液体アンモニアを噴射する。すなわち、微粉燃料が通らない予混合気管78に噴射部76から液体アンモニアが噴射されるので、噴射部76の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。
 また、図3に示すように、予混合装置72は、予混合気管78と火炉11との連通状態、及び、微粉燃料供給管22と火炉11との連通状態を切替えるための連通状態切替部82を備えていてもよい。図3に示す例示的な実施形態では、連通状態切替部82は、予混合気管78に設けられる予混合気バルブ86と、微粉燃料供給管22において予混合気管78との接続部よりも上流側の位置に設けられる微粉燃料バルブ84と、を含む。連通状態切替部82を適切に操作することで、微粉燃料供給管22からの微粉燃料、又は、予混合気管78からの予混合気との間で、微粉燃料バーナ50A,40Bに供給される燃料を切替えることができる。
 図4、図5、図7及び図8に示す例示的な実施形態では、加熱空気流路74は、バーナ21の中央バーナ60を構成する空気ノズル66によって形成される。また、噴射部76は、加熱空気流路74内において、拡散燃焼用の燃料を噴出するための拡散ノズル(図2における油燃料ノズル62)の周囲において、該ノズルの軸方向に沿って延びるように設けられる。
 図4及び図5に示す例示的な実施形態では、上述の拡散ノズルは、火炉11に油燃料を供給するように構成された油燃料ノズル62である。また、噴射部76は、油燃料ノズル62の周囲に設けられる少なくとも1つ(図4及び図5では2つ)の第2液体アンモニアノズル88を含む。第2液体アンモニアノズル88の先端には、液体アンモニアを噴出するための噴出孔が設けられる。
 図7及び図8に示す例示的な実施形態では、上述の拡散ノズルは、火炉11にアンモニアを供給するように構成されたアンモニア拡散燃焼ノズル68である。また、噴射部76は、アンモニア拡散燃焼ノズル68の周囲に設けられる少なくとも1つ(図7及び図8では2つ)の第4液体アンモニアノズル89を含む。第4液体アンモニアノズル89の先端には、液体アンモニアを噴出するための噴出孔が設けられる。
 図4、図5、図7及び図8に示す例示的な実施形態において、拡散ノズル(図4及び図5における油燃料ノズル62、図7及び図8におけるアンモニア拡散燃焼ノズル68)は、燃料(油又はアンモニア)を噴射する噴射口63,69が形成される先端部90,114を含む。また、この先端部90、114には、空気ノズル66から火炉11に吹き込まれる加熱空気の渦を形成するための渦形成部92が設けられる。このような渦形成部92を設けることで、拡散ノズルの先端部90,114の近傍に加熱空気の渦が形成され、バーナ21において保炎しやすくなる。
 図4及び図7に示す例示的な実施形態では、渦形成部92は、皿状のディフューザ94と、該ディフューザ94の上流側に設けられる筒状のガイド部96と、を含む。加熱空気がガイド部96とディフューザ94の間の隙間を流れることで、渦が形成される。図5及び図8に示す例示的な実施形態では、渦形成部92は、スワラ98を含む。加熱空気がスワラ98を通過することで、渦が形成される。
 図4、図5、図7及び図8に示すように、第2液体アンモニアノズル88又は第4液体アンモニアノズル89は、加熱空気流路74における加熱空気の流れ方向において渦形成部92よりも上流側の位置にて液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成されていてもよい。
 この場合、加熱空気の渦を形成するための渦形成部92よりも上流側の位置に第2液体アンモニアノズル88又は第4液体アンモニアノズル89が設けられるので、第2/第4液体アンモニアノズル88,89と渦形成部92との間にある程度の距離がある。よって、第2/第4液体アンモニアノズルから噴射された液体アンモニアが渦形成部92に到達するまでに気化しやすくなる。また、渦形成部92において、第2/第4液体アンモニアノズル88,89から噴出されたアンモニアと加熱空気の混合が促進される。よって、アンモニアと加熱空気の予混合気を円滑に形成することができる。
 図7及び図8に示す例示的な実施形態では、上述したように、上述の拡散ノズルはアンモニア拡散燃焼ノズル68を含む。すなわち、アンモニアを加熱空気の予混合気を形成するための噴射部76(第4液体アンモニアノズル89)に加え、火炉11でアンモニアを拡散燃焼させるためのアンモニア拡散燃焼ノズル68を設けたので、より多くのアンモニア燃料を火炉11に供給することができる。
 なお、アンモニア拡散燃焼ノズル68から火炉11に供給されるアンモニア燃料は、液体であっても、気体であってもよい。気体アンモニアの場合、液体アンモニアを気化器で気化させたものであってもよい。
 なお、中央バーナ60を構成する空気ノズル66の内部は、空気が流れ、微粉燃料は基本的には存在しない。このため、空気ノズル66によって形成される加熱空気流路74に噴射部76が設けられも、微粉燃料との接触等に起因して噴射部76に摩耗が生じる可能性は低い。
 幾つかの実施形態では、例えば図6に示すように、加熱空気流路74は、燃料を燃焼させるための燃焼用空気を前記火炉に供給するための燃焼用空気供給管を含み、噴射部76は、該燃焼用空気供給管の内部に液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された第3液体アンモニアノズル112を含む。図6に示す例示的な実施形態では、燃焼用空気供給管は、燃焼用空気ノズル56を含む。他の一実施形態では、燃焼用空気供給管は、微粉燃料バーナ50Aを構成する空気ノズル54を含んでいてもよく、噴射部76は、該空気ノズル54の内部に液体アンモニアを噴出するように構成されたノズルを含んでもよい。
 上述の実施形態では、燃焼用空気供給管の内部に液体アンモニアを噴射するための第3液体アンモニアノズル112(噴射部76)が設けられる。すなわち、微粉燃料が通らない加熱空気流路74に噴射部76が設けられるので、噴射部76の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。
 幾つかの実施形態では、例えば図9に示すように、加熱空気流路74は燃焼用空気を少なくとも1つの燃焼用空気供給管の各々に供給するための空気ダクトを含み、噴射部76は、空気ダクトの内部に液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成される。
 図9に示すように、空気ダクト24は、複数の分岐管24A~24Cを含み、該複数の分岐管24A~24Cを介して、上下方向に配列される複数のバーナ21(21A~21C)の各々に燃焼用空気(二次空気、加熱空気)を供給するようになっている。図9に示す例示的な実施形態では、空気ダクト24のうち、分岐管24Aの分岐点と分岐管24Bの分岐点との間の位置に液体アンモニアを噴射する噴射部76として、第5液体アンモニアノズル116が設けられている。これにより、噴射部76よりも上方に位置するバーナ21B及び21Cの燃焼用空気供給管(微粉燃料バーナ50の空気ノズル54、中央バーナ60の空気ノズル66、及び/又は、燃焼用空気ノズル56)に、空気ダクト24で形成されるアンモニアと加熱空気(燃焼用空気)との予混合気が供給されるようになっている。
 上述の実施形態では、少なくとも1つの燃焼用空気供給管に燃焼用空気(二次空気)を供給するための空気ダクト24(即ち、複数のバーナ21よりも上流側の空気ダクト24)の内部に液体アンモニアを噴射するための第5液体アンモニアノズル116(噴射部76)が設けられる。すなわち、微粉燃料が通らない加熱空気流路に噴射部76が設けられるので、噴射部76の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。また、個々の燃焼用空気供給管に液体アンモニアノズルをそれぞれ設置する場合に比べて、共通の第5液体アンモニアノズル116を設置すればよいので、設置作業が比較的容易である。
 幾つかの実施形態では、予混合装置72は、噴射部76から加熱空気流路74への液体アンモニアの供給量に応じて、加熱空気流路74における加熱空気の流量を調節するように構成された調節部を備える。
 例えば図1に示すように、調節部は、液体アンモニア供給ライン120に設けられたバルブ122、及び、加熱空気ライン124に設けられたバルブ126の開度を制御するための制御装置200を含んでいてもよい。制御装置200は、加熱空気流路74(図1では予混合気管78)への液体アンモニアの供給量が別途決定された要求値となるようにバルブ122の開度を制御するとともに、当該供給量の液体アンモニアの全てを気化可能な量の加熱空気が加熱空気流路74(図1では予混合気管78)に供給されるように、バルブ126の開度を制御するように構成されていてもよい。
 ここで、図10は、加熱空気の温度及び液体アンモニアの温度がそれぞれ固定の所定値であることを前提とした場合の、予混合気の温度と、空気比(投入される液体アンモニア量に対する必要空気流量に対する、空気流量の比)との相関関係の一例を示すグラフである。図10のグラフに示すように、空気比が小さいほどアンモニアと空気の予混合気の温度は低く、空気比が所定値raよりも小さい場合、予混合気の温度がアンモニアの沸点(約-33.3℃)よりも低くなり、アンモニアの全量が気化しなくなる。
 そこで、上述の調節部は、空気比が上述の所定値raよりも小さくならないように、加熱空気流路74における加熱空気の流量を調節するように構成されていてもよい。
 上述の実施形態によれば、噴射部76から加熱空気流路74への液体アンモニアの供給量に応じて、加熱空気流路74における加熱空気の流量を調節するようにしたので、供給される液体アンモニアを気化させるのに十分な量の加熱空気を加熱空気流路74に供給することができる。これにより、アンモニアの液体成分の残存による着火性の悪化や、アンモニア未燃分の排出等を抑制することができる。
 次に、一実施形態に係るボイラの改造方法について説明する。
 一実施形態に係るボイラの改造方法は、火炉11を含むボイラ10(図1参照)に、加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を形成するための予混合装置72を設置するステップを含む。予混合装置72は、火炉11に連通するとともに加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路74に液体アンモニアを噴射するための噴射部76を含み、例えば図3~図9を参照して説明したものであってもよい。
 上述の方法で得られるボイラ10では、火炉11に連通する加熱空気流路74に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、高温の加熱空気流路74内にて比較的気化熱の大きい液体アンモニアが気化されやすく、アンモニアと空気の予混合気を円滑に形成することができる。よって、液体アンモニア燃料を用いた予混合燃焼を実現することができる。また、火炉11に連通する加熱空気流路74には、通常、微粉燃料(微粉炭等)は流通しない。即ち、上述の方法で得られるボイラ10では、微粉燃料が通らない流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、該液体アンモニアを噴射する噴射部76(ノズル)の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。よって、上述の方法によれば、設備の大型化を抑制しながらアンモニア投入量を増大できるとともに、アンモニア噴射部の摩耗による損傷リスクを低減することが可能なボイラ10を得ることができる。
 上記各実施形態に記載の内容は、例えば以下のように把握される。
[1]本発明の少なくとも一実施形態に係る予混合装置(72)は、
 加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を形成するための予混合装置であって、
 火炉(11)に連通するとともに加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路(74)に、液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された噴射部(76)を備える。
 上記[1]の構成では、火炉に連通する加熱空気流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、高温の加熱空気流路内にて比較的気化熱の大きい液体アンモニアが気化されやすく、アンモニアと空気の予混合気を円滑に形成することができる。よって、液体アンモニア燃料を用いた予混合燃焼を実現することができる。また、火炉に連通する加熱空気流路には、通常、微粉燃料(微粉炭等)は流通しない。即ち、上記[1]の構成では、微粉燃料が通らない流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、該液体アンモニアを噴射する噴射部(ノズル)の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。よって、上記[1]の構成によれば、設備の大型化を抑制しながらアンモニア投入量を増大できるとともに、アンモニア噴射部の摩耗による損傷リスクを低減することができる。
[2]幾つかの実施形態では、上記[1]の構成において、
 前記加熱空気流路は、微粉燃料を前記火炉に供給するための微粉燃料供給管に接続される予混合気管(78)を含み、
 前記噴射部は、前記予混合気管の内部に前記液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された第1液体アンモニアノズル(80)を含む。
 上記[2]の構成では、微粉燃料を火炉に供給するための微粉燃料供給管に接続される予混合気管が加熱空気流路を形成し、噴射部(第1液体アンモニアノズル)は該加熱空気流路に液体アンモニアを噴射する。すなわち、微粉燃料が通らない予混合気管に噴射部から液体アンモニアが噴射されるので、噴射部の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。
[3]幾つかの実施形態では、上記[2]の構成において、
 前記予混合気管と前記火炉との連通状態、及び、前記微粉燃料供給管と前記火炉との連通状態を切替えるための連通状態切替部(82)を備える。
 上記[3]の構成によれば、予混合気管と火炉との連通状態、及び、微粉燃料供給管と火炉との連通状態を切替えるための連通状態切替部を設けたので、燃料の確保状況等に応じて、予混合装置を備える燃焼装置(ボイラ等)の運転を微粉燃料焚きとアンモニア焚きの間で柔軟に切り替えることができる。
[4]幾つかの実施形態では、上記[1]乃至[3]の何れかの構成において、
 前記噴射部は、前記加熱空気流路内において、前記火炉に油燃料を供給するための油燃料ノズル(62)の周囲に設けられるとともに前記油燃料ノズルの軸方向に沿って延びる第2液体アンモニアノズル(88)を含む。
 上記[4]の構成では、油燃料ノズルが設けられる加熱空気流路内に液体アンモニアを噴射するための第2液体アンモニアノズル(噴射部)が設けられる。すなわち、微粉燃料が通らない加熱空気流路に噴射部が設けられるので、噴射部の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。
[5]幾つかの実施形態では、上記[4]の構成において、
 前記油燃料ノズルは、前記油燃料を噴射する噴射口が形成される先端部(90)を含み、
 前記先端部に設けられ、前記加熱空気の渦を形成するための渦形成部(92)を備え、
 前記第2液体アンモニアノズルは、前記加熱空気流路における前記加熱空気の流れ方向において前記渦形成部よりも上流側の位置にて前記液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成される。
 上記[5]の構成によれば、加熱空気の渦を形成するための渦形成部よりも上流側の位置に第2液体アンモニアノズル(噴射部)が設けられるので、第2液体アンモニアノズルと渦形成部との間にある程度の距離がある。よって、第2液体アンモニアノズルから噴射された液体アンモニアが渦形成部に到達するまでに気化しやすくなる。また、渦形成部において、アンモニアと加熱空気の混合が促進される。よって、アンモニアと加熱空気の予混合気を円滑に形成することができる。
[6]幾つかの実施形態では、上記[1]乃至[5]の何れかの構成において、
 前記加熱空気流路は、燃料を燃焼させるための燃焼用空気を前記火炉に供給するように構成された燃焼用空気供給管(例えば燃焼用空気ノズル56)を含み、
 前記噴射部は、前記燃焼用空気供給管の内部に前記液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された第3液体アンモニアノズル(112)を含む。
 上記[6]の構成では、燃焼用空気供給管の内部に液体アンモニアを噴射するための第3液体アンモニアノズル(噴射部)が設けられる。すなわち、微粉燃料が通らない加熱空気流路に噴射部が設けられるので、噴射部の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。
[7]幾つかの実施形態では、上記[1]乃至[6]の何れかの構成において、
 前記加熱空気流路内を前記加熱空気の流れ方向に沿って延在し、前記火炉にアンモニアを供給するためのアンモニア拡散燃焼ノズル(68)を備え、
 前記噴射部は、前記加熱空気流路内において、前記アンモニア拡散燃焼ノズルの周囲に設けられるとともに前記アンモニア拡散燃焼ノズルの軸方向に沿って延びる第4液体アンモニアノズル(89)を含む。
 上記[7]の構成によれば、アンモニアを加熱空気の予混合気を形成するための噴射部(第4液体アンモニアノズル)に加え、火炉でアンモニアを拡散燃焼させるためのアンモニア拡散燃焼ノズルを設けたので、より多くのアンモニア燃料を火炉に供給することができる。
[8]幾つかの実施形態では、上記[1]乃至[7]の何れかの構成において、
 前記加熱空気流路は、燃料を燃焼させるための燃焼用空気を前記火炉に供給するように構成された少なくとも1つの燃焼用空気供給管の各々に、前記燃焼用空気を供給するための空気ダクト(24)を含み、
 前記噴射部は、前記空気ダクトの内部に前記液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された第5液体アンモニアノズル(116)を含む。
 上記[8]の構成では、
少なくとも1つの燃焼用空気供給管に燃焼用空気を供給するための空気ダクトの内部に液体アンモニアを噴射するための第5液体アンモニアノズル(噴射部)が設けられる。すなわち、微粉燃料が通らない加熱空気流路に噴射部が設けられるので、噴射部の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。また、個々の燃焼用空気供給管に液体アンモニアノズルをそれぞれ設置する場合に比べて、共通の第5液体アンモニアノズルを設置すればよいので、設置作業が比較的容易である。
[9]幾つかの実施形態では、上記[1]乃至[8]の何れかの構成において、
 前記噴射部から前記加熱空気流路への前記液体アンモニアの供給量に応じて、前記加熱空気流路における前記加熱空気の流量を調節するように構成された調節部(例えば制御装置200)を備える。
 上記[9]の構成によれば、噴射部から加熱空気流路への液体アンモニアの供給量に応じて、加熱空気流路における加熱空気の流量を調節するようにしたので、供給される液体アンモニアを気化させるのに十分な量の加熱空気を加熱空気流路に供給することができる。
これにより、アンモニアの液体成分の残存による着火性の悪化や、アンモニア未燃分の排出等を効果的に抑制することができる。
[10]本発明の少なくとも一実施形態に係るボイラ(10)は、
 上記[1]乃至[9]の何れか一項に記載の予混合装置(72)と、
 前記予混合装置で形成された加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を燃焼させるための火炉(11)と、
を備える。
 上記[10]の構成では、火炉に連通する加熱空気流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、高温の加熱空気流路内にて比較的気化熱の大きい液体アンモニアが気化されやすく、アンモニアと空気の予混合気を円滑に形成することができる。よって、液体アンモニア燃料を用いた予混合燃焼を実現することができる。また、火炉に連通する加熱空気流路には、通常、微粉燃料(微粉炭等)は流通しない。即ち、上記[10]の構成では、微粉燃料が通らない流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、該液体アンモニアを噴射する噴射部(ノズル)の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。よって、上記[10]の構成によれば、設備の大型化を抑制しながらアンモニア投入量を増大できるとともに、アンモニア噴射部の摩耗による損傷リスクを低減することができる。
[11]本発明の少なくとも一実施形態に係るボイラの改造方法は、
 火炉(11)を含むボイラ(10)に、加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を形成するための予混合装置(72)を設置するステップを含み、
 前記予混合装置は、前記火炉に連通するとともに加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路(74)に液体アンモニアを噴射するための噴射部(76)を含む。
 上記[11]の方法で得られるボイラでは、火炉に連通する加熱空気流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、高温の加熱空気流路内にて比較的気化熱の大きい液体アンモニアが気化されやすく、アンモニアと空気の予混合気を円滑に形成することができる。よって、液体アンモニア燃料を用いた予混合燃焼を実現することができる。また、火炉に連通する加熱空気流路には、通常、微粉燃料(微粉炭等)は流通しない。即ち、上記[11]の方法で得られるボイラでは、微粉燃料が通らない流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するようにしたので、該液体アンモニアを噴射する噴射部(ノズル)の微粉燃料による摩耗を抑制することができる。よって、上記[11]の方法によれば、設備の大型化を抑制しながらアンモニア投入量を増大できるとともに、アンモニア噴射部の摩耗による損傷リスクを低減することができる。
 以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、本発明は上述した実施形態に限定されることはなく、上述した実施形態に変形を加えた形態や、これらの形態を適宜組み合わせた形態も含む。
 本明細書において、「ある方向に」、「ある方向に沿って」、「平行」、「直交」、「中心」、「同心」或いは「同軸」等の相対的或いは絶対的な配置を表す表現は、厳密にそのような配置を表すのみならず、公差、若しくは、同じ機能が得られる程度の角度や距離をもって相対的に変位している状態も表すものとする。
 例えば、「同一」、「等しい」及び「均質」等の物事が等しい状態であることを表す表現は、厳密に等しい状態を表すのみならず、公差、若しくは、同じ機能が得られる程度の差が存在している状態も表すものとする。

Claims (11)

  1.  加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を形成するための予混合装置であって、
     火炉に連通するとともに加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路に、液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された噴射部を備える
    予混合装置。
  2.  前記加熱空気流路は、微粉燃料を前記火炉に供給するための微粉燃料供給管に接続される予混合気管を含み、
     前記噴射部は、前記予混合気管の内部に前記液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された第1液体アンモニアノズルを含む
    請求項1に記載の予混合装置。
  3.  前記予混合気管と前記火炉との連通状態、及び、前記微粉燃料供給管と前記火炉との連通状態を切替えるための連通状態切替部を備える
    請求項2に記載の予混合装置。
  4.  前記噴射部は、前記加熱空気流路内において、前記火炉に油燃料を供給するための油燃料ノズルの周囲に設けられるとともに前記油燃料ノズルの軸方向に沿って延びる第2液体アンモニアノズルを含む
    請求項1乃至3の何れか一項に記載の予混合装置。
  5.  前記油燃料ノズルは、前記油燃料を噴射する噴射口が形成される先端部を含み、
     前記先端部に設けられ、前記加熱空気の渦を形成するための渦形成部を備え、
     前記第2液体アンモニアノズルは、前記加熱空気流路における前記加熱空気の流れ方向において前記渦形成部よりも上流側の位置にて前記液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された
    請求項4に記載の予混合装置。
  6.  前記加熱空気流路は、燃料を燃焼させるための燃焼用空気を前記火炉に供給するように構成された燃焼用空気供給管を含み、
     前記噴射部は、前記燃焼用空気供給管の内部に前記液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された第3液体アンモニアノズルを含む
    請求項1乃至3の何れか一項に記載の予混合装置。
  7.  前記加熱空気流路内を前記加熱空気の流れ方向に沿って延在し、前記火炉にアンモニアを供給するためのアンモニア拡散燃焼ノズルを備え、
     前記噴射部は、前記加熱空気流路内において、前記アンモニア拡散燃焼ノズルの周囲に設けられるとともに前記アンモニア拡散燃焼ノズルの軸方向に沿って延びる第4液体アンモニアノズルを含む
    請求項1乃至3の何れか一項に記載の予混合装置。
  8.  前記加熱空気流路は、燃料を燃焼させるための燃焼用空気を前記火炉に供給するように構成された少なくとも1つの燃焼用空気供給管の各々に、前記燃焼用空気を供給するための空気ダクトを含み、
     前記噴射部は、前記空気ダクトの内部に前記液体アンモニアを噴射するように構成された第5液体アンモニアノズルを含む
    請求項1乃至3の何れか一項に記載の予混合装置。
  9.  前記噴射部から前記加熱空気流路への前記液体アンモニアの供給量に応じて、前記加熱空気流路における前記加熱空気の流量を調節するように構成された調節部を備える
    請求項1乃至3の何れか一項に記載の予混合装置。
  10.  請求項1乃至3の何れか一項に記載の予混合装置と、
     前記予混合装置で形成された加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を燃焼させるための火炉と、
    を備えるボイラ。
  11.  ボイラの改造方法であって、
     火炉を含むボイラに、加熱空気とアンモニアの予混合気を形成するための予混合装置を設置するステップを含み、
     前記予混合装置は、前記火炉に連通するとともに加熱空気が流れる加熱空気流路に液体アンモニアを噴射するための噴射部を含む
    ボイラの改造方法。
