Description

送信装置および送信方法、並びに、受信装置および受信方法
 本開示は、送信装置および送信方法、並びに、受信装置および受信方法に関し、特に、より好適にフレーム位置を検出できるようにする送信装置および送信方法、並びに、受信装置および受信方法に関する。
 LPWA(Low Power Wide Area)通信規格の1つであるELTRES(登録商標)において、基地局と端末とは、互いにデータフレームを送受信するために、GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System)を用いて時刻同期を実現している。GNSSを用いた時刻同期には、消費電力が大きい、状況によっては同期までに時間を要する、屋内では同期を取ることができない、などといった課題が存在する。
 一方で、無線通信においてデータフレームを送受信する場合、フレームの先頭や途中に同期信号を挿入することが一般的である。その同期信号のフレーム位置を推定する技術の1つとして、プリアンブル方式がある。プリアンブル方式では、送信側が、同期系列を含む変調信号を送信し、受信側が、受信信号と既知の同期系列との相関計算を行うことでフレーム位置を検出する。
 しかしながら、プリアンブル方式を用いてELTRES(登録商標)で求められる通信性能を実現しようとした場合、処理量が膨大となり、受信側の端末では多くの演算回路が必要となる。
 特許文献1には、フレーム位置を推定するための送信信号として、変調信号と狭帯域同期信号を複素信号空間においてそれぞれ異なる2軸に割り当てることで送信信号を生成する手法が開示されている。
国際公開第2021/245718号
 特許文献1の手法では、狭帯域同期信号として2本のサイドキャリア信号を用いているため、送信パワーが半分に割り振られるかたちとなる。したがって、受信側で受信した信号に対してFFTを行い狭帯域同期信号のピークを検出する際、送信パワーが半分となった分、耐ノイズ性が悪化してしまう。結果として、適切にフレーム位置を検出できないおそれがある。
 本開示は、このような状況に鑑みてなされたものであり、より好適にフレーム位置を検出できるようにするものである。
 本開示の第1の側面の送信装置は、同期系列を含む複素変調信号を生成する変調信号生成部と、任意の周波数を有する複素CW信号を生成するCW信号生成部と、前記複素変調信号に前記複素CW信号を重畳することで、受信装置との時刻同期のための時刻同期用フレームを生成するフレーム生成部と、前記時刻同期用フレームを送信信号として前記受信装置に送信する送信部とを備える送信装置である。
 本開示の第1の側面の送信方法は、送信装置が、同期系列を含む複素変調信号を生成し、任意の周波数を有する複素CW信号を生成し、前記複素変調信号に前記複素CW信号を重畳することで、受信装置との時刻同期のための時刻同期用フレームを生成し、前記時刻同期用フレームを送信信号として前記受信装置に送信する送信方法である。
 本開示の第2の側面の受信装置は、同期系列を含む複素変調信号に任意の周波数を有する複素CW信号を重畳することで時刻同期用フレームを生成する送信装置からの送信信号に対する周波数解析により、前記複素CW信号の周波数ピークを検出することで、前記時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出するフレーム位置検出部を備える受信装置である。
 本開示の第2の側面の受信方法は、受信装置が、同期系列を含む複素変調信号に任意の周波数を有する複素CW信号を重畳することで時刻同期用フレームを生成する送信装置からの送信信号に対する周波数解析により、前記複素CW信号の周波数ピークを検出することで、前記時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出する受信方法である。
 本開示の第1の側面においては、同期系列を含む複素変調信号が生成され、任意の周波数を有する複素CW信号が生成され、前記複素変調信号に前記複素CW信号が重畳されることで、受信装置との時刻同期のための時刻同期用フレームが生成され、前記時刻同期用フレームが送信信号として前記受信装置に送信される。
 本開示の第2の側面においては、同期系列を含む複素変調信号に任意の周波数を有する複素CW信号を重畳することで時刻同期用フレームを生成する送信装置からの送信信号に対する周波数解析により、前記複素CW信号の周波数ピークが検出されることで、前記時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置が検出される。

 以下、本開示に係る技術を実施するための形態(以下、実施形態とする)について説明する。なお、説明は以下の順序で行う。

<1.従来技術と課題>
 LPWA(Low Power Wide Area)通信規格の1つであるELTRES(登録商標)において、基地局と端末とは、互いにデータフレームを送受信するために、GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System)を用いて時刻同期を実現している。GNSSを用いた時刻同期には、消費電力が大きい、状況によっては同期までに時間を要する、屋内では同期を取ることができない、などといった課題が存在する。
 これに対して、基地局から端末に時刻同期用フレームを送信することで同期を取ることが考えられる。
 無線通信においてデータフレームを送受信する場合、フレームの先頭や途中に同期信号を挿入することが一般的である。その同期信号のフレーム位置を推定する技術の1つとして、プリアンブル方式がある。プリアンブル方式では、送信側が、同期系列を含む変調信号を送信し、受信側が、受信信号と既知の同期系列との相関計算を行うことでフレーム位置を検出する。
 ELTRES(登録商標)のデータフレームは、感度性能や妨害波耐性が高く、時刻同期用フレームに対してもこれと同等以上の通信性能が求められる。しかしながら、プリアンブル方式を用いてELTRES(登録商標)で求められる通信性能を実現しようとした場合、処理量が膨大となり、受信側の端末では多くの演算回路が必要となる。
 本開示に係る技術においては、時刻同期用フレームとして、同期系列を含む複素変調信号に任意の周波数を有する複素CW信号を重畳したフレームを生成することで、高い通信性能と、処理量の少ない受信処理の実現を図る。
<2.無線通信システムの構成例>
 図1は、本開示に係る技術を適用し得る無線通信システムの構成例を示す図である。
 図1に示される無線通信システム10においては、基地局としての送信装置100と、端末デバイスとしての受信装置200とが、LPWA通信規格の1つであるELTRES(登録商標)方式により、データフレームを送受信する。
 送信装置100は、GNSS衛星からGNSS信号を受信することで、時刻情報を取得する。送信装置100は、ダウンリンクを用いて、時刻情報に基づいた時刻同期用フレームを受信装置200に送信する。受信装置200は、送信装置100からの時刻同期用フレームを用いることで、送信装置100との時刻同期を行う。
 無線通信システム10の構成によれば、受信装置200は、GNSSを用いることなく、ダウンリンクを用いることで送信装置100との時刻同期を実現することができるので、屋内や半屋内であっても同期を取ることが可能となる。また、受信装置200においては、通信モジュールにGNSSチップを搭載する必要がないため、通信モジュールの低コスト化を図ることが可能となる。
 以下においては、送信装置100と受信装置200の詳細な構成と動作について説明する。
<3.送信装置の構成と動作>
(送信装置の構成)
 図2は、送信装置100の構成例を示すブロック図である。
 図2に示されるように、送信装置100は、CW信号生成部110、変調信号生成部120、送信信号生成部130、および送信部140を備えている。
 CW信号生成部110は、任意の周波数を有する複素正弦波信号である複素CW(Continuous Wave)信号を生成する。
 複素CW信号の周波数は、例えば0Hz(DC成分のみ)とされるが、本開示に係る技術の目的を逸しない範囲であれば、いずれの周波数であってもよい。CW信号生成部110は、アンプ111を有しており、必要に応じて複素CW信号の振幅を所定倍にして送信信号生成部130に供給する。
 変調信号生成部120は、伝送データと同期系列を含む複素変調信号を生成する。
 変調信号生成部120においては、加算器121が、例えば疑似乱数により生成した同期系列(同期信号)を、伝送データを構成するフレーム内に均等分散させた変調データを生成する。変調部122は、加算器121により生成された変調データに対して、位相偏移変調の1つであるπ/2 BPSK(Binary Phase-Shift Keying)変調を施すことで、複素変調信号を生成する。変調信号生成部120は、アンプ123を有しており、必要に応じて複素変調信号の振幅を所定倍にして送信信号生成部130に供給する。
 変調信号生成部120により生成される複素変調信号は、同期系列のみで構成されてもよいし、同期系列と、伝送データのようなその他のデータ系列を含むように構成されてもよい。また、複素変調信号の変調方式としては、本開示に係る技術の目的を逸しない範囲であれば、π/2 BPSK変調に限らず、その他の変調方式を採用することができる。
 送信信号生成部130は、変調信号生成部120からの複素変調信号に、CW信号生成部110からの複素CW信号を重畳することで、受信装置200との時刻同期のための時刻同期用フレームを生成するフレーム生成部として機能する。
 送信信号生成部130においては、重畳部131が、複素変調信号に複素CW信号を重畳する。送信信号生成部130は、複素CW信号が重畳された複素変調信号に、キャリア信号を重畳することで、時刻同期用フレームを生成する。具体的には、チャープ変調部132は、キャリア信号として、フレームの経過時間とともにこれらの中心周波数を直線的に変化させるチャープ信号を用いることで、チャープ変調処理を施す。そして、送信信号生成部130は、チャープ変調処理が施された時刻同期用フレームを、送信信号として送信部140に供給する。
 送信部140は、送信信号生成部130からの送信信号を適宜増幅し、受信装置200に送信する。
(送信装置の動作)
 図3のフローチャートを参照して、送信装置100により実行される時刻同期用フレーム生成処理について説明する。
 ステップS11において、CW信号生成部110は、任意の周波数の複素CW信号を生成する。
 ステップS12において、変調信号生成部120は、同期系列を含む複素変調信号を生成する。
 ステップS13において、送信信号生成部130(重畳部131)は、変調信号生成部120により生成された複素変調信号に、CW信号生成部110により生成された複素CW信号を重畳することで、時刻同期用フレームを生成する。このとき、複素CW信号と複素変調信号はともに複素信号であることから、時刻同期用フレームにおいて、複素CW信号成分は、1つの非常に狭帯域な信号成分となる。
 ステップS14において、送信信号生成部130(チャープ変調部132)は、複素CW信号が重畳された複素変調信号にチャープ変調処理を施すことで送信信号を生成する。
 ステップS15において、送信部140は、送信信号生成部130により生成された送信信号を送信する。
 ここで、図4を参照して、送信信号の構成について説明する。
 図4には、チャープ変調された送信信号としての時刻同期用フレームTSが示されており、中心周波数はFc[Hz]、フレーム期間はTframe[sec]、チャープ幅はFchirp[Hz]、帯域幅はFbw[Hz]とされる。時刻同期用フレームTSは、そのフレーム期間Tframeの中央で中心周波数Fcを取るように構成される。
 時刻同期用フレームTSにおいては、疑似乱数により生成した同期系列(同期信号)が伝送データを構成するフレーム内に均等分散された複素変調信号に、複素CW信号が重畳されている。上述したように、複素CW信号と複素変調信号はともに複素信号であることから、図4に示されるように、時刻同期用フレームTSにおいて、複素CW信号成分(CW)は、1つの特定周波数に送信パワーが集中することになる。
 また、複素CW信号は、本開示に係る技術の目的を逸しない範囲で、複素変調信号のフレーム期間Tframeの少なくともいずれかの時間域に対して重畳(合成)されればよい。すなわち、複素CW信号は、複素変調信号のフレーム期間Tframeの全時間域に対して合成されてもよいし、その一部分の時間域に対して合成されてもよい。図4においては、複素CW信号は、時刻同期用フレームTSの先頭から期間Tcw[sec]の時間域に対して合成されている。
 さらに、複素CW信号は、複素変調信号の位相に寄らずに合成されてよい。すなわち、複素CW信号を複素変調信号に重畳する際、複素変調信号の位相に合わせる必要はない。
 以上の構成および処理によれば、同期系列を含む複素変調信号に任意の周波数を有する複素CW信号を重畳することで時刻同期用フレームが生成されるので、時刻同期用フレームには、1つの狭帯域に送信パワーが集中した狭帯域同期信号が含まれるようになる。具体的には、特許文献1に開示されているサイドキャリア信号と比較して、3dBほどの性能改善を図ることができる。これにより、受信側で受信した信号に対してFFTを行い狭帯域同期信号のピークを検出する際に、ノイズ耐性を高めることができるので、高い通信性能を実現しつつ、後述するように、受信側においては、より好適にフレーム位置を検出することが可能となる。
<4.受信装置の構成と動作>
(受信装置の構成)
 図5は、受信装置200の構成例を示すブロック図である。
 図5の受信装置200においては、電波を受信してデジタルIQ信号に変換するまでの構成の図示を省略するものとする。すなわち、図5に示されるように、受信装置200は、第1バッファ210、CW検出部220、ピーク更新部230、蓄積部240、第2バッファ250、および復調部260を備えている。
 第1バッファ210には、受信装置200が受信した電波が変換されたデジタルIQ信号(送信装置100からの送信信号)が、入力信号として格納される。
 CW検出部220は、第1バッファ210内の入力信号から、複素CW信号の周波数ピークを検出する。
 CW検出部220においては、デチャープ処理部221が、一定時間毎に第1バッファ210内の入力信号にデチャープ処理を施し、LPF(Low Pass Filter)222が、高周波成分を除去する。FFT(Fast Fourier Transform)部223は、高周波成分が除去された信号に対してFFTが行い、ピーク検出部224は、複素CW信号の周波数ピークを検出する。検出された周波数ピークと、入力信号に含まれる周波数オフセットは、ピーク更新部230に供給される。
 ピーク更新部230は、CW検出部220により検出された一定時間毎の周波数ピークに基づいて、複素CW信号の周波数ピークの最大値を更新する。
 ピーク更新部230においては、SN比計算部231が、CW検出部220からの周波数ピークに基づいて、FFTによる解析結果のSN比を計算し、SN比更新部232が、計算されたSN比に基づいて周波数ピークの最大値を更新する。スイッチ233は、SN比更新部232により周波数ピークの最大値が更新されてONとなることで、CW検出部220からの周波数オフセットが蓄積部240に供給される。
 このように、CW検出部220とピーク更新部230は、送信装置100からの送信信号に対する周波数解析により、複素CW信号の周波数ピークを検出することで、時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出するフレーム位置検出部FDを構成する。これにより、送信装置100からの送信信号において、大まかに時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出することができる。
 蓄積部240は、複素CW信号の周波数ピークが検出されたときの入力信号を、第2バッファ250に蓄積する。
 蓄積部240においては、スイッチ241が、ピーク更新部230により周波数ピークの最大値が更新されてONとなることで、第1バッファ210内の入力信号がデチャープ処理部242に供給される。デチャープ処理部242は、一定時間毎に入力信号にデチャープ処理を施し、LPF243は、高周波成分を除去する。周波数シフト部244は、高周波成分が除去された信号に対してCW検出部220からの周波数オフセットの補正を行い、RRC(Root Raised Cosine)フィルタ245は、周波数オフセットが補正された信号における符号間干渉を抑制し、第2バッファ250に供給する。
 復調部260は、第2バッファ250に蓄積された、複素CW信号の周波数ピークが検出されたときの入力信号を用いて、送信装置100との時刻同期処理と、伝送データの復調処理を行う。
 復調部260は、同期処理部310、フェージング補正部320、位相補正部330、BPSKデマッパ340、およびLDPC部350を含むように構成される。
 同期処理部310は、第2バッファ250に蓄積された、複素CW信号の周波数ピークが検出された時の入力信号(送信信号)に含まれる同期系列を用いた相関計算により、送信装置100との時刻同期処理を行う。
 同期処理部310においては、サンプル切出部311が、複素CW信号の周波数ピークが検出された時の入力信号を、サンプル時間だけずらしながら切り出し、相関計算部312が、あらかじめ既知である同期系列との相互相関を計算する。FFT部313は、計算された相関値に対してFFTを行い、ピークサーチ部314は、FFTによる解析結果からピーク値を探索し、最大ピーク選択部315は、ピーク値の最大値を選択する。これにより、送信装置100からの送信信号において、高精度に時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出することができる。
 さて、フェージング補正部320は、同期処理部310におけるFFTによる解析結果に基づいて、フェージングに起因する周波数特性歪みの補正量を計算する。位相補正部330は、フェージング補正部320により計算された補正量に基づいて、第2バッファ250に蓄積された入力信号(デジタルIQ信号)の位相回転を補正する。
 BPSKデマッパ340は、位相回転を補正した入力信号をデマッピングすることによりBPSK復調し、LDPC部350は、BPSK復調された復調データに対して、LDPC(Low Density Parity Check)符号を用いた誤り訂正を行う。
(受信装置の動作)
 図6のフローチャートを参照して、受信装置200により実行される時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置検出処理について説明する。
 図6の処理は、例えば、受信装置200が受信した電波が変換されたデジタルIQ信号(入力信号)が、第1バッファ210に格納され始めることで開始される。
 ステップS21において、CW検出部220は、例えば20msecなどの一定時間毎に、第1バッファ210内の入力信号にデチャープ処理を施す。
 ステップS22において、CW検出部220は、デチャープ処理が施されたデチャープ信号に対してFFTを行う。
 ステップS23において、CW検出部220は、FFTによる解析結果に基づいて、複素CW信号の周波数ピークを検出する。
 ステップS24において、ピーク更新部230は、CW検出部220により検出された周波数ピークに基づいて、FFTによる解析結果のSN比を計算する。このようにして、一定時間毎の入力信号に対して計算されたSN比は、図示せぬメモリに保持される。
 ステップS25において、ピーク更新部230は、計算されたSN比と、図示せぬメモリに保持されている過去のSN比を比較することで、複素CW信号の周波数ピークの最大値を更新したか否かを判定する。
 ステップS25において周波数ピークの最大値を更新していない、すなわち、計算されたSN比が過去のSN比より小さい場合、ステップS21に戻り、次の時間単位(例えば20msec)の入力信号について、ステップS21乃至S25の処理が繰り返される。
 一方、ステップS25において周波数ピークの最大値を更新したと判定された場合、すなわち、計算されたSN比が過去のSN比より大きい場合、ステップS26に進む。
 ステップS26において、ピーク更新部230は、複素CW信号の周波数ピークの最大値が更新された入力信号のフレーム位置を、時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置として検出する。これにより、送信装置100からの送信信号において、大まかに時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出することができる。
 その後、ステップS27において、同期処理部310は、第2バッファ250に蓄積された、時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置が検出された時の入力信号の複素変調信号成分に含まれる同期系列を用いた相関計算による時刻同期処理を行う。これにより、送信装置100からの送信信号において、高精度に時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出することができる。
 以上の処理によれば、時刻同期されていない状態(時刻同期用フレームがいつ到来するか未知の状態)であっても、送信装置100からの送信信号に対するFFTにより複素CW信号の周波数ピークを検出することで、大まかな時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出することができる。その後、複素変調信号成分に含まれる同期系列と既知の同期系列を用いた相関計算により、高精度な時刻同期用フレームのフレーム位置を検出することができる。
 このように、時刻同期用フレームがいつ到来するか未知の状態においては、大まかな時間間隔(例えば20msec)で複素CW信号を検出することで、相互相関の計算時の時間ずらし量を削減することができ、受信処理における処理量を抑制することが可能となる。
<5.応用例>
 以上においては、本開示に係る技術を、ELTRES(登録商標)方式によりデータフレームを送受信する無線通信システムに適用した例について説明した。これに限らず、本開示に係る技術は、時刻同期を必要とするセルラー通信や他のLPWA通信を行う無線通信システム、WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network)などに適用することができる。
 本開示の実施形態は、上述した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、本開示の要旨を逸脱しない範囲において種々の変更が可能である。
 また、本明細書に記載された効果はあくまで例示であって限定されるものではなく、他の効果があってもよい。

     前記時刻同期用フレームを送信信号として前記受信装置に送信する送信部と
