Definitions

  • This disclosure relates to a machine tool that sets a detection range for detecting the movement of a robot.
  • Patent Document 1 describes a machine tool that outputs a reference point signal when the tool of the robot returns to a reference point.
  • the machine tool in Patent Document 1 sets a neighborhood area that includes coordinate points before and after the reference point, and outputs a reference point signal when the tool returns within this neighborhood area.
  • the destination of a robot that transports a workpiece varies depending on the type of workpiece, the configuration of the machine tool, and other factors. For this reason, the coordinates of the destination set in the operation program that controls the robot vary depending on the type of workpiece, etc. If the coordinates of the destination are called robot points and managed on the machine tool side, then by associating coordinates set in a different operation program with the robot point, the coordinates can be changed from the operation panel of the machine tool, etc. If it is desired to detect movement to this robot point using a detection range that includes an arbitrary reference point as described in Patent Document 1 above, there is a risk of setting an incorrect detection range unless the relationship between the robot point and the detection range is correctly understood.
  • This disclosure was made in consideration of the above problems, and aims to provide a machine tool that can reduce the occurrence of errors in setting the detection range for detecting movement to a robot point.
  • this specification discloses a machine tool that includes a display device, a robot that transports a workpiece, and a control device that controls the movement of the robot, and the control device executes a movement process that moves the robot based on the coordinates of a robot point that is associated with a position to which the robot moves, a detection process that detects that the robot has moved to the robot point by setting a detection range from a lower limit position that is closer to the coordinate indicated by the robot point to an upper limit position that is further than the coordinate indicated by the robot point in the movement direction in which the robot moves in the movement process, and a display process that displays the robot point associated with the detection range indicated by the lower limit position and the upper limit position in correspondence with the input unit on a setting screen that displays an input unit for inputting setting values for the lower limit position and the upper limit position.
  • the control device displays a setting screen that accepts the setting values for the robot point and the upper and lower limit positions of the detection range that detects movement to that robot point.
  • the control device displays the robot point associated with the upper and lower limit positions in association with the input sections for those upper and lower limit positions. This makes it possible to determine which detection range (upper and lower limit positions) to change when changing the setting values by referring to the robot point information. This reduces the occurrence of errors in setting the detection range.
