Definitions
- the present application relates to the field of biomedical technology, and in particular to a nerve conduit, a preparation method and application thereof.
- Nerve damage caused by trauma, disease or surgery is very common.
- both the central and peripheral nerves lack the ability to regenerate and repair themselves after injury. If they cannot be effectively intervened and treated within a limited time window, irreversible nerve function damage will occur due to neuronal apoptosis in the damaged area, leading to permanent consequences ranging from decreased motor and sensory functions to limb paralysis and even disability.
- nerve damage is mainly treated clinically through nerve anastomosis surgery or autologous nerve transplantation, but these methods cannot be used to treat larger nerve defects (defect distance > 3 cm) and face inherent disadvantages such as a high risk of complications.
