Definitions
- the invention belongs to the field of polymers, and in particular relates to a polypropylene composition and a preparation method and application thereof.
- Polypropylene has the advantages of low density, easy processing, and excellent mechanical properties. It has been widely used in the automotive industry, home appliances, and medical fields. However, when ordinary polypropylene is used in medical equipment and instruments, in addition to transparency requirements, it is also required to be transparent during daily disinfection and use of the equipment. Ordinary transparent polypropylene is still acceptable in terms of visible light transmission, but it is difficult to transmit ultraviolet rays. Generally, the ultraviolet transmittance is only less than 10%. In addition, ordinary polypropylene is sensitive to ultraviolet rays and is prone to aging. After 2 hours of ultraviolet disinfection, it will show obvious yellowing, and even become brittle due to aging. Therefore, the application of polypropylene is limited in the ultraviolet application environment.
- the present invention aims to provide a polypropylene composition and a preparation method and application thereof.
- the polypropylene composition of the present invention has not only high visible light transmittance, but also good ultraviolet light transmittance and is resistant to ultraviolet aging.
- a polypropylene composition comprising the following components in parts by weight: 40 to 95 parts of random copolymer polypropylene resin, 5 to 55 parts of homopolymer polypropylene resin, 2 to 8 parts of chlorinated polypropylene resin, 0.1 to 0.5 parts of antioxidant, 0.24 to 0.4 parts of light stabilizer, 0.1 to 0.5 parts of nucleating agent, and 0.1 to 0.5 parts of lubricant; the chlorine content of the chlorinated polypropylene resin is 20% to 26wt%; the isotacticity of the homopolymer polypropylene resin mmmm>97%.
- the chlorine content of the chlorinated polypropylene resin is determined by oxygen bottle combustion-potentiometric titration; the isotacticity of the homopolymer polypropylene resin is determined in accordance with GB 2412-2008.
- the isotacticity of homopolymer polypropylene represents the regularity of arrangement of propylene molecules in the macromolecular chain. The higher the regularity, the faster the homopolymer polypropylene crystallizes, which is conducive to making the spherulites smaller.
- the polypropylene composition comprises the following components in parts by weight: 50-75 parts of random copolymer polypropylene resin, 20-44 parts of homopolymer polypropylene resin, 4-6 parts of chlorinated polypropylene resin, 0.2-0.4 parts of antioxidant, 0.25-0.3 parts of light stabilizer, 0.2-0.3 parts of nucleating agent, and 0.2-0.3 parts of lubricant.
- the polypropylene composition comprises at least one of the following (1) to (3):
- the random copolymer polypropylene resin has a melt mass flow rate of 0.2 to 13 g/10 min at 230° C. and a load of 2.16 kg;
- the comonomer content of the random copolymer polypropylene is 3% to 7%; the random comonomer is inserted into the long molecular chain of polypropylene, destroying the regularity of the molecular chain, reducing the overall crystallinity and generating a relatively small spherulite size;
- the homopolymer polypropylene resin has a melt mass flow rate of 45 to 150 g/10 min at 230° C. and a load of 2.16 kg;
- the melt mass flow rate of the above-mentioned random copolymer polypropylene resin and homopolymer polypropylene resin are measured in accordance with ISO 1133-1 2011.
- the nucleating agent is a fourth generation sorbitol transparent nucleating agent.
- the addition of the nucleating agent can limit the crystallization of the polypropylene composite and reduce the size. When the crystal size is lower than the wavelength of ultraviolet light, it is conducive to the passage of ultraviolet light, thereby improving the ultraviolet light transmittance. When the nucleating agent is not added, the ultraviolet light transmittance of the material will be reduced. At the same time, the weight ratio of the nucleating agent also has a great influence on the final performance of the polypropylene composition. When the amount of the nucleating agent is small, the spherulites of the polypropylene are still large and the requirement of high ultraviolet light transmittance cannot be met.
- the polypropylene composition comprises at least one of the following (1) to (3):
- the antioxidant is at least one of a hindered phenol antioxidant and a phosphite antioxidant. More preferably, the antioxidant is a compound of a hindered phenol antioxidant and a phosphite antioxidant.
- the light stabilizer is a UV absorber and a hindered amine light stabilizer
- the lubricant is at least one of glyceryl monostearate and stearic acid metal salt compounds.
- a method for preparing the polypropylene composition comprises the following steps:
- the portion of random copolymerized polypropylene resin in step S1 accounts for 20% to 40% of the total weight of the random copolymerized polypropylene resin.
- the temperature of melt kneading in step S1 is 170-250° C., and the screw speed is 450-550 rpm.
- the temperature of melt kneading in step S2 is 160-180° C., and the screw speed is 350-600 rpm.
- a twin-screw extruder is used for melt mixing and extrusion granulation.
- the invention discloses an application of the polypropylene composition in the fields of medical containers (test tube boxes, tool boxes, medicine boxes, etc.) and consumables (disposable reaction containers in the process of ultraviolet curing reaction).
- the random copolymer polypropylene used in the present invention as the resin matrix has good mechanical properties and crystallinity, so that it can achieve light transmission.
- homopolymer polypropylene resin is added to the random copolymer polypropylene, polypropylene crystallization and the generation of larger spherulites can be inhibited, further improving the light transmittance.
- the present invention adds a nucleating agent to the resin matrix component to further inhibit the formation of crystals of the polypropylene component and make the crystal size
- a nucleating agent to the resin matrix component to further inhibit the formation of crystals of the polypropylene component and make the crystal size
- the crystal size is smaller than the wavelength of ultraviolet light, it is conducive to the passage of ultraviolet light.
- the interface between spherulites and spherulites, and between spherulites and amorphous regions inside polypropylene is too obvious, and the refraction and reflection losses are too much, resulting in a decrease in the ultraviolet light transmission rate. Therefore, the inventors also added a chlorinated polypropylene resin component to modify the random copolymer polypropylene, nucleating agent, antioxidant, light stabilizer and other component systems.
- the polarity of the chlorine functional group in the chlorinated polypropylene resin is very large, and only a small part can participate in crystallization.
- the uncrystallized part remains outside the spherulites and retains a certain length. Due to the presence of polar chlorine functional groups, there is a certain force between spherulites, and the remaining chlorinated polypropylene chain segments on the surface of the spherulites weaken the interface between spherulites and between spherulites and amorphous regions, reducing the refraction and reflection losses, thereby effectively improving the ultraviolet light transmittance of the obtained polypropylene composition.
- the present invention has the following beneficial effects:
- the present invention adds a nucleating agent and a chlorinated polypropylene resin to a random copolymer polypropylene resin and a homopolymer polypropylene resin, and then compounding with an antioxidant, a light stabilizer, and a lubricant to obtain a polypropylene composition having a high visible light transmittance and ultraviolet light transmittance.
- the high light transmittance characteristic can improve the transmittance of light, reduce the absorption of light energy by the polypropylene material, reduce the transition from the molecular ground state to the excited state, thereby reducing the probability of molecular chain scission, extending the anti-aging performance of the product, and effectively extending the service life of the obtained product. Therefore, the polypropylene composition of the present application can be better applied to the field of medical containers and consumables.

- antioxidants, light stabilizers, and lubricants are all commercially available, and the same antioxidants, light stabilizers, and lubricants are used in parallel experiments.
- the preparation method of the polypropylene composition of Examples 1-9 and Comparative Examples 1-8 comprises the following steps:
- the polypropylene composition prepared in the embodiment of the present invention can not only maintain a relatively high visible light transmittance range of 80-87.5%, but also has a good ultraviolet light transmittance, the ultraviolet light transmittance can be maintained at 41.9%-48.1%, and the highest ultraviolet light transmittance can reach 48.1%, achieving excellent ultraviolet aging resistance.
- Comparative Examples 1 to 2 chlorinated polypropylene is not added or chlorinated polyethylene is used to replace it, resulting in a significant decrease in the visible light transmittance and ultraviolet light transmittance of the obtained polypropylene composition, and the ultraviolet aging resistance of Comparative Example 2 is much worse than that of the embodiment of the present invention; the chlorine content of the chlorinated polypropylene resin added in Comparative Examples 3 to 4 is too high or too low, resulting in a low ultraviolet light transmittance of the obtained wiping material; the weight portion of the nucleating agent added in Comparative Example 5 is not appropriate, resulting in a low visible light transmittance and ultraviolet light transmittance of the polypropylene composition, which are both worse than those of the embodiment, and the ultraviolet aging resistance is also poor.
- the isotacticity of the homopolymerized polypropylene resin selected in Comparative Example 6 is less than 97%, and the visible light transmittance, ultraviolet light transmittance and anti-ultraviolet aging performance of the obtained polypropylene composition are all worse than those of the embodiment; the weight proportions of the chlorinated polypropylene resin added in Comparative Examples 7 and 8 are not appropriate, resulting in the visible light transmittance and ultraviolet light transmittance of the obtained polypropylene composition being worse than those of the embodiment, and the polypropylene composition product obtained in Comparative Example 8 itself is seriously yellowed.
- the embodiments of the present invention select random copolymer polypropylene or random copolymer polypropylene and homopolymer polypropylene as the base resin component, add components such as a nucleating agent and an antioxidant, and select chlorinated polypropylene resin to modify the component system.
- the prepared polypropylene composition can have a high visible light transmittance and ultraviolet light transmittance, and achieve excellent ultraviolet aging resistance.

Description
(1)所述无规共聚聚丙烯树脂在230℃,2.16kg负荷下,熔体质量流动速率为0.2~13g/10min;
(2)所述无规共聚聚丙烯的共聚单体含量为3%~7%;无规共聚单体插入到聚丙烯长分子链中,破坏了分子链的规整度,使整体结晶度降低、生成的球晶尺寸相对较小;
(3)所述均聚聚丙烯树脂在230℃,2.16kg负荷下,熔体质量流动速率为45~150g/10min;
(1)所述抗氧剂为受阻酚类抗氧剂和亚磷酸酯类抗氧剂中的至少一种,更优选地,所述抗氧剂为受阻酚类抗氧剂和亚磷酸酯类抗氧剂的复配物;
(2)所述光稳定剂为紫外线吸收剂和受阻胺类光稳定剂;
S1、将部分无规共聚聚丙烯树脂、抗氧剂、光稳定剂、成核剂均匀混合,之后进行熔融混炼、挤出造粒、得到混合物A;

S1、将无规共聚聚丙烯树脂总重量份数25%的无规共聚聚丙烯树脂、抗氧剂、光稳定剂、成核剂均匀混合,之后加入双螺杆挤出机中,熔融混炼,熔融混炼的温度为200℃,螺杆转速为500rpm,挤出造粒、得到混合物A;
(1)透光率:使用透光率雾度仪/NDH7000II进行测试;
