- the eccentricity ⁇ (see FIG. 2), which is the difference between the rotation center Z of the drive shaft 2 and the center O of the pump element accommodating portion 41, changes.
- the amount of change in volume of the pump chamber 30 (the difference between the maximum volume and the minimum volume) changes.
- the amount of eccentricity ⁇ increases, the amount of change in the volume of the pump chamber 30 also increases, while as the amount of eccentricity ⁇ decreases, the amount of change in the volume of the pump chamber 30 also decreases.
- the eccentricity ⁇ is determined by the biasing force in the concentric direction based on the internal pressure of the first control oil chamber PR1 (the first control oil pressure P1), the set load W1 of the coil spring SP, and the internal pressure of the second control oil chamber PR2 (the second control oil pressure P1). - the resultant force of the hydraulic pressure Fp2 generated by the second control oil pressure P2 of the second control oil chamber PR2 acting on the second pressure receiving surface 442 and the set load W1 of the coil spring SP is
- the first control hydraulic pressure P1 of PR1 exceeds the hydraulic pressure Fp1 generated by acting on the first pressure receiving surface 441, and the cam ring 4 is maintained in the maximum eccentric state.
- the hydraulic pressure Po of the discharge pressure P is increased while the duty ratio of the excitation current supplied to the solenoid section 6 is 0%. , is larger than the set load W2 of the valve spring 54.
- the spool valve body 52 moves toward the second end, the communication between the introduction port Pb and the supply/discharge port Pc is cut off, and the communication between the supply/discharge port Pc and the drain port Pd is established.
- the oil in the second control oil chamber PR2 is discharged (second state), and the discharge pressure P acts only on the first control oil chamber PR1.
- the spool valve body 52 moves toward the second end based on the increase in the discharge pressure P, and the spool valve body 52 moves toward the second end, causing the cam ring 4 to move toward the second end.
- the movement of the spool valve body 52 toward the first end side as the spool valve body 52 reaches the minimum eccentric state is alternately and continuously repeated. In this way, the state in which the supply/discharge port Pc and the introduction port Pb communicate with each other and the state in which the supply/discharge port Pc and the drain port Pd communicate with each other are alternately and continuously switched, so that the discharge pressure P changes to the engine required oil pressure. will be maintained.
- the operating state of the variable displacement oil pump is illustrated when the engine is started and when the discharge pressure P is high.
- the hydraulic pressure Po of the discharge pressure P is Even when the load is smaller than the set load W2 of the valve spring 54, by adjusting the duty ratio of the excitation current supplied to the solenoid section 6 of the control valve SV, the above-mentioned It is possible to shift to two states, and the discharge pressure P of the variable displacement oil pump can be controlled in multiple stages.
- a generally cylindrical protrusion or recess that surrounds the outer circumferential side of the coil spring is provided on the spring contact surface of the arm portion of the cam ring, and the protrusion or recess is It is also conceivable that by fitting the coil spring on the inner circumferential side, the outer circumferential side of the coil spring is supported by the protrusion or recess, thereby suppressing displacement of the coil spring.
- the compressed coil spring when assembling the coil spring, the compressed coil spring must be fit into the inner circumference of the protrusion or the recess while restoring the coil spring, and the coil spring must be fitted onto the outer circumference of the protrusion. As with the matching mode, there was room for improvement in that it was difficult to assemble the coil spring.
- the difficulty in assembling the coil spring will be specifically explained.
- the coil spring When fitting a coil spring to the outer circumference of a protrusion, or when fitting a coil spring to the inner circumference of a protrusion or recess, the coil spring must be assembled in a compressed state in order to provide preload to the coil spring.
- This jig holds the coil spring in a compressed state between a pair of holding parts arranged opposite to each other, and holds the coil spring between the arm part of the cam ring and the housing (spring accommodating part) together with the pair of holding parts.
- the coil spring By inserting the coil spring between the cam ring and pushing the coil spring out of the pair of holding parts, the coil spring is assembled so as to be pushed between the arm part of the cam ring and the housing (spring accommodating part).
- the coil spring needs to be compressed extra by the thickness of the pair of holding parts that are inserted together with the coil spring between the arm part of the cam ring and the housing (spring accommodating part). For this reason, the restoring force of the coil spring increases by the amount of extra compression, and when the coil spring is pushed out from the jig, the coil spring is released with a larger restoring force, and the coil spring is released from the arm part of the cam ring or the housing ( This results in stronger contact with the spring accommodating portion. As a result, there is a risk that the arm portion of the cam ring or the housing (spring accommodating portion) may be damaged due to the contact of the coil spring.
- the coil spring is released by pushing it out of the jig, it becomes difficult to control the attitude of the coil spring after being pushed out from the jig. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to fit the coil spring to the outer or inner circumference of the protrusion, which has a relatively narrow gap with the coil spring, as described above, and the coil spring assembly process is difficult. They are forced to suffer sexual deterioration. Moreover, since it is difficult to control the posture of the coil spring after it has been released from the jig, there is a risk that the coil spring may be assembled in a tilted state, resulting in poor assembly of the coil spring.
- the protrusion is formed separately from the cam ring as a so-called retainer member, and the retainer member is attached to the inner circumference of the coil spring in advance.
- a possible mode is to assemble the coil spring in a fitted state.
- the number of parts of the variable displacement oil pump increases by forming the protrusion separately as a retainer member. As a result, the manufacturing cost, management man-hours, and assembly man-hours of the retainer member increase, resulting in an increase in the manufacturing cost of the variable displacement oil pump.
- variable displacement oil pump includes a housing 1 (first housing 11) having a pump housing part 110, a cam ring 4 movably housed inside the pump housing part 110, A pump element 3 is rotatably housed inside the cam ring 4 and cooperates with the cam ring 4 to form a plurality of pump chambers 30.
- a coil spring SP biases the cam ring 4 in a direction to increase the amount of eccentricity, and a spring contact surface 451 provided on the cam ring 4 and extending in the longitudinal direction of the coil spring SP from a spring contact surface 451 that the coil spring SP comes into contact with, the outer periphery of the coil spring SP. It has a protrusion 46 that is partially formed so as to overlap a part of the .
- the spring contact surface 451 of the cam ring 4 is provided with the protrusion 46 that is partially formed so as to overlap a part of the outer circumference of the coil spring SP.
- the protrusion 46 can restrict the tilting of the coil spring SP. Thereby, the upright state of the coil spring SP is maintained, and an appropriate biasing force can be applied to the cam ring 4 (arm portion 45).
- the protrusion 46 is partially formed so as to overlap a part of the outer periphery of the coil spring SP, when assembling the coil spring SP, the coil spring SP can be simply pushed inside the protrusion 46. Since it is not necessary to fit the coil spring SP into a protrusion or a recess as in the conventional case, it is possible to easily assemble the coil spring SP.
- the protrusion 46 is partially formed so as to overlap a part of the outer circumference of the coil spring SP, the protrusion 46 can be formed into an annular shape surrounding the outer circumference of the coil spring SP as described above. Compared to the case where the coil spring SP is formed, it becomes possible to visually confirm the assembled state of the coil spring SP from the outside. This makes it possible to easily visually judge whether the coil spring SP is properly assembled, thereby providing efficient quality assurance of the oil pump.
- the protrusion 46 it is also possible to arrange the protrusion 46 not on the cam ring 4 but on the inner surface of the second housing 12 that closes the spring accommodating portion 119.
- the inner surface of the second housing 12 is finished by machining, if the protrusion 46 is provided on the inner surface of the second housing 12, the protrusion 46 should be avoided when machining the inner surface of the second housing 12. This is not appropriate because it may lead to a decrease in productivity and an increase in manufacturing costs for variable displacement oil pumps.
- the housing 1 (first housing 11) has a first coil spring SP that restricts movement of the coil spring SP toward the outside in the radial direction perpendicular to the rotation axis Z of the pump element 3.
- the cam ring 4 has a regulating wall (outer regulating wall 119c), and the cam ring 4 has a second regulating wall (cam ring regulating wall 47) that regulates the movement of the coil spring SP toward the inside in the radial direction perpendicular to the rotation axis Z of the pump element 3. has.
- the outer regulating wall 119c is the first regulating wall provided in the spring accommodating portion 119 of the housing 1 (first housing 11), and the second regulating wall is provided in the cam ring 4.
- the cam ring regulating wall 47 makes it possible to regulate the displacement of the coil spring SP. Thereby, in cooperation with the protrusion 46, it is possible to effectively suppress the occurrence of tilting of the coil spring SP.
- the protrusion 46 is provided in a single piece.
- the single protrusion 46 when assembling the coil spring SP, for example, the first holding part 71 formed in a bifurcated shape by the notch 710 and the flat second holding part 71 can be assembled.
- the protrusion 46 is held by the notch 710 while the coil spring SP is compressed and held between the first holding part 71 and the second holding part 72.
- the coil spring SP can be assembled between the cam ring 4 (spring contact surface 451 of the arm portion 45) and the housing 1 (the other end wall 119b of the spring accommodating portion 119 of the first housing 11) while avoiding this. Thereby, the workability of assembling the coil spring SP can be improved.
- the protrusion 46 is disposed in the middle of the flow of oil led from the suction port 114b, it can act as a resistance to the flow of the oil. Therefore, by providing a single protrusion 46 as in this embodiment, the oil flow resistance is reduced compared to the case where a plurality of protrusions 46 are provided, and the pressure loss of the pump due to the provision of the protrusion 46 is reduced. can be reduced.
- the protrusion 46 is provided at a position overlapping with the center X of the outer diameter of the coil spring SP.
- the protrusion 46 is provided at a position overlapping with the center X of the outer diameter of the coil spring SP, the tilting of the coil spring SP can be appropriately restricted by the protrusion 46 in a well-balanced manner. I can do it. In other words, even if the cam ring 4 swings, the protrusion 46 can appropriately restrict the movement of the coil spring SP.
- the housing 1 (first housing 11) has a third coil spring SP that restricts movement of the coil spring SP to the opposite side in the radial direction with respect to the protrusion 46. It has a regulating wall (cam ring regulating wall 47).
- the cam ring regulating wall 47 as the third regulating wall that regulates the movement of the coil spring SP is provided on the opposite side of the coil spring SP in the radial direction with respect to the protrusion 46.
- the coil spring SP can be sandwiched between the protrusion 46 and the housing 1 (the cam ring regulating wall 47 of the spring accommodating portion 119 of the first housing 11), and the positioning of the coil spring SP can be performed more easily.
- the coil spring SP is disposed in the oil passage leading from the suction port 114b provided in the housing 1 to the pump chamber 30, and the protrusion 46 is arranged in the oil passage. It is arranged downstream of the coil spring SP.
- the protrusion 46 is arranged downstream of the coil spring SP in the suction side oil passage that connects the suction port 114b to the pump chamber 30. Thereby, it is possible to effectively suppress the occurrence of tilting of the coil spring SP due to the flow of oil flowing into the pump chamber 30 from the suction port 114b.
- the method for manufacturing a variable displacement oil pump includes a cam ring arranging step of arranging the cam ring 4 in the pump accommodating portion 110, and a coil spring SP arranging the coil spring SP in the pump accommodating portion 110 after the cam ring arranging step.
- a bifurcated first holding part 71 having a notch 710 in the middle part and capable of holding one end of the coil spring SP, and a second holding part capable of holding the other end of the coil spring SP are formed.
- the coil spring SP is held in a compressed state by the jig 7 having the section 72 , and the jig 7 is inserted between the cam ring 4 and the pump housing section 110 so as to avoid the protrusion 46 by the notch 710 of the first holding section 71 . and arranging the coil spring SP in the pump accommodating portion 110 by inserting the coil spring SP in between.
- the coil spring SP is held in a compressed state by the jig 7 having the bifurcated first holding part 71 and the second holding part 72 in which the notch 710 is formed. 710, the coil spring SP is inserted between the cam ring 4 (spring contact surface 451 of the arm portion 45) and the pump housing part 110 (the other end wall 119b of the spring housing part 119) while avoiding the protrusion 46.
- the configuration is such that SP can be assembled. Therefore, compared to the conventional configuration in which the entire circumference of the coil spring SP is surrounded by the protrusion (or recess), the protrusion 46 can be avoided by the notch 710, and the coil spring SP can be used extra as in the conventional technique.
- Compression eliminates the need to avoid projections 46.
- FIG. 6 it becomes possible to reduce the compression amount of the coil spring SP by the height of the protrusion 46, and the repulsive force of the coil spring SP when the coil spring SP is released from the jig 7 ( resilience) can be reduced.
- errors in assembling the coil spring SP such as the coil spring SP being assembled in a tilted state due to the large repulsion (restoration) of the coil spring SP, are suppressed, and the coil spring SP is properly assembled. Used to ensure proper assembly condition.
- the seating surface of the coil spring SP (specifically, , the spring contact surface 451 of the arm portion 45 of the cam ring 4, and the other end wall 119b of the spring accommodating portion 119) can be prevented from being damaged.
- the present invention is not limited to the configuration disclosed in the above embodiments, and can be freely modified depending on, for example, the specifications of the engine and valve timing control device of the vehicle in which the variable displacement oil pump is mounted.
- the present invention is applied to a vane type variable displacement oil pump, but the variable displacement oil pump to which the present invention can be applied is limited to the vane type oil pump. Instead, it is also possible to apply the present invention to other types of variable displacement oil pumps, such as trochoid type pumps. Note that when the present invention is applied to a trochoidal pump, the outer rotor that constitutes the external gear corresponds to the cam ring.
