La présente invention concerne en outre un système comprenant au moins un dispositif informatique, le système comprenant également : un moyen de stockage qui stocke des informations relatives à la vitesse d'usure d'un matériau de meulage fourni à un outil de polissage dans une condition dans laquelle une pièce est polie par l'outil de polissage, en association avec des informations relatives à la condition susmentionnée ; un moyen d'entrée qui accepte l'entrée d'une condition sous laquelle la pièce est polie ; et un moyen de spécification qui spécifie des informations relatives à la vitesse d'usure du matériau de meulage, la vitesse d'usure correspondant à la condition acceptée.
