Description

A DIETARY SUPPLEMENT COMPOSITION FOR ANTI-AGING
FIELD OF INVENTION The present invention generally relates to a dietary supplement composition for anti-aging. In particular, the present invention describes a dietary supplement composition for promoting anti-aging comprising marine organism-derived protein hydrolysates. BACKGROUND ART
Aging is a gradual, continuous process of natural change that begins in early adulthood. During early middle age, bodily functions begin to gradually decline. Many attempts have been undertaken to develop therapies and formulations that will lengthen human lifespans, enhance health, and increase quality of life as people age. As only few approaches completely comprehend the basis of ageing and illness, few, if any, of these attempts have yielded superior results to date. It's crucial to understand the causes of ageing and the illnesses that come with it, because as with treating a disease, one must first understand the problem, so that a precise remedy can be applied.
Referring to free radical theory of aging, aging is caused by accumulation of damage inflicted by reactive oxygen species that will eventually causes cell damage which cannot be repaired by internal mechanism, leading to loss of organ mass and functionality, which ultimately culminates in system dysfunction. Free radical damages contribute to many chronic health problems such as inflammatory diseases, cardiovascular diseases and directly influence the muscle functions and health. Severe chronic diseases are associated with aging such as cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetic metabolic syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease. As the case of oxidative stress inflicted by free radical, the inflammatory response inadvertently disrupts cellular homeostasis. The oxidation and inflammatory theory of aging has been proposed, where aging is a loss of homeostasis due to the chronic oxidative stress that affects the regulatory and immune system. Accumulation of oxidative stress and inflammation will induce premature aging that may increase the risk of various diseases related to aging. Therefore, it is vital to address the prevention of these detrimental long-term outcomes as they are afflicting not only the aged but also the middle-age population.
Marine organism-derived protein hydrolysates may hold promise as functional foods to promote healthy ageing, metabolic health, and benefit skeletal muscle metabolism in humans. In accordance with this disclosure, a new approach to promoting health and longevity is to provide a dietary supplement composition which comprises fish- derived protein hydrolysates (FSH) that possesses antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties that will be able to prevent premature aging caused by free radical’s damage and inflammation, specifically on the skin, musculoskeletal and immune system.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to a dietary supplement composition for anti-aging. In particular, the present invention describes a dietary supplement composition for promoting anti-aging comprising marine organism-derived protein hydrolysates.
Hereinafter, the dietary supplement composition according to the present invention will be described in detail according to the preferred embodiments. It is to be understood that limiting the description to the preferred embodiments of the invention is merely to facilitate discussion of the present invention and it is envisioned without departing from the scope of the appended claims.
The present invention discloses a dietary supplement composition for promoting anti-aging which comprises a combination of three main ingredients which are marine organism-derived protein hydrolysates. Three main components of the composition are derived from fish (fish-derived protein hydrolysates (FPH)) and commercially known as Protimune, Collactive, and Nutripeptin™, further fortified with Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and extract of Vitis vinifera to provide synergy effect in neutralising free radicals at cellular level and reduce age related deteriorations in telomere maintenance, supporting normal metabolic functions, cell regulation and enhance DNA repair in both nuclei and mitochondria.
Protimune is milt protein hydrolysates which is made of fish milt with 26% DNA.lt is a DNA rich marine-organism extract that are known for its immunostimulant, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Collactive is skin protein hydrolysates which is made of fish skin and contains 94% collagen and 6% elastin oligopeptide, the two main constituent of the extracellular matrix that provide tensile strength, regulation cell adhesion and direct tissue development. Nutripeptin™ is protein hydrolysates which is made of fish muscle protein and contains 80% protein and 888 total amino acids. Nutripeptin™ is a marine peptide that has a definite functional effect in reducing the glycaemic index, which results in lower postprandial blood glucose level, which further reduces the risk in developing disorders linked to unhealthy lifestyles such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Fish protein hydrolysates (FPH) contains predominantly di- and tripeptides, which are more readily absorbed than free amino acids and and much more rapidly than intact protein. FPH also offers a high-quality supply of dietary protein without significantly affecting appetite perceptions or hormone regulation. The various FPH are breakdown products from the enzymatic conversion of fish proteins into smaller peptides, and normally contain 2-20 AAs. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) (also known as ubiquinone and ubidecarenone) is a fat- soluble vitamin and naturally occurring coenzyme structurally similar to vitamin K. It is involved in electron transport and energy production in the mitochondria. Although found in all human cells, it is present in high concentrations in the heart, kidney, liver and pancreas. CoQ10 serves as a potent antioxidant with potential use as a dietary supplement to protect against related degeneration and has been reported to be capable of improving one’s performance by enhancing the uptake and processing of oxygen in cells. It is also effective for nourishing skin, curing heart disease, and promoting energy. Vitis Vinifera (grapes) extract confer health benefits as they have high antioxidant activities due to their phenolic and flavonoid contents. Resveratrol is also found in grape skin and has protection action on various disorders associated with aging.
In oxidative stress theory of aging, reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) are produced by several endogenous and exogenous processes and their negative effects are neutralized by antioxidant defenses. Oxidative stress occurs from the imbalance between RONS production and these antioxidant defenses. The oxidative stress theory of aging is based on the hypothesis that age- associated functional losses are due to the accumulation of RONS-induced damages.
The unique combination of fish milt protein hydrolysate, fish skin protein hydrolysate, fish muscle protein hydrolysate, ubiquinone and Vitis Vinifera acts as a free radical scavenger, DNA repair and cell regulation complex providing synergistic effects for optimal cellular function. Therefore, the dietary supplement composition provides a multifunctional and effective anti-aging management system.
The dietary supplement composition for anti-aging of the present invention contains the following:
