Abstract

The present invention relates to a pressing and separating device for a system for folding a web-shaped material, made in particular of paper, cardboard or paperboard, in the longitudinal direction in order to produce packaging pouches, using a forming device for continuously forming the web-shaped starting material in the longitudinal direction. The pressing and separating device comprises a pair of press jaws consisting of two press jaws associated with one another, of which at least one press jaw can be moved relative to the other press jaw in order to press leading transverse edge portions of the V- or U-limbs against one another and separate a packaging pouch from the material web in the region of the pressed transverse edge portions, at least one of the press jaws being spring-mounted in the direction of movement of the at least one movable press jaw.
