Abstract

A brake mechanism, which comprises a connecting piece, a mounting base and a first friction piece. The connecting piece comprises a first spline part, a step part, a middle connecting part, and a second spline part, which are sequentially arranged. The second spline part and the middle connecting part penetrate through the mounting base. The step part abuts against an end face of the mounting base. The first friction piece is sleeved on the middle connecting part. The first friction piece is directly or indirectly fixed to the mounting base. The first friction piece and the connecting piece do not rotate in the axial direction. The application further relates to a lifting column using the brake mechanism. The mounting base generates friction damping with the connecting piece and the first friction piece, such that the lifting resistance of the lifting column is generally consistent, and shaking caused by damping difference during activation is prevented. A self-locking spring arranged on the brake mechanism has one-way self-locking capability, and further improves the self-locking performance of the lifting column mounted with the brake mechanism.
