Abstract
A monitoring device for an area is provided. The monitoring device comprises a camera module configured to obtain an image of an area, a data store configured to store the image of the area, a processor, and a communications module. The processor is configured to detect one or more spatial features in a region of the image, and to determine one or more monitoring parameters based on the detected one or more spatial features for monitoring the area. The communications module is configured to transmit the monitoring parameter to a server remote from the monitoring device.
