Definitions
- Invention relates to textile heating garment, especially for relief of menstrual pain or other pains in the lower abdomen and back region.
- TENS - transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation which is the application of electric current, which agitates nerve trunks and nerve fibers leading to pain relief.
- Those are the low-energy pulses (frequency 1 to 200 Hz) produced by low-frequency oscillator.
- Impulses send by oscillator can have different shape and they are shorter than 1 ms (usually 10 to 750 ps). This method of pain relief is not suitable for everyone.
- Example of contraindication is the presence of pacemaker.
- the textile heating garment especially for relief of menstrual pain, in accordance with the present invention, the summary of which is that the garment consists of two identical parts, the front abdominal part of the knitwear and the back part of the knitwear, when both of these parts are equipped with a heating surface consisting of a conductive yam that is covered, and thus attached to the knit, with a lamination layer.
- Conductive yarn is connected to supply of low- voltage electric current from the battery.
- both abdominal and back part are provided with fixation element for insertion or attachment of battery so it does not arbitrarily tear away from magnetic contact.
- fixation element for insertion or attachment of battery so it does not arbitrarily tear away from magnetic contact.
- both abdomen and back part of knitwear is covered by exposed knitwear.
- Perimeter of laminating layer, which attaches conductive yarn to both parts of knitwear, is provided with elastic stitches for better fixation to the knitwear.
- Advantage of this invention is that it is simple and easy to connect and turn on and it is able to function and be worn even while moving.
- the lower abdomen area and lower back area directed towards the coccyx are specially heated. Heating can be regulated in wide range from 40 to 50 degrees, both directly on the power supply unit or on the supplied mobile application.
- Heating surface is formed by conductive yarn or resistive and conductive wires (silver, stainless steel or other conductive materials, gold, copper) provided with protective layer of yarn or resistive and conductive wires, which are sewn with a flexible thread into the laminating material (polyester, Teflon).
- the entire resulting garment is flexible, stable and elastic on the wearer’s body and it is resistant to approx. 150 to 200 washing cycles without individual layers peeling off.
- it is also equipped with elastic stitches around the laminating layer, especially in its corners and the area around the connector, which are under the most stress and tent do peel off, especially if the product is washed without a laundry bag or dried in a dryer, and other unsparing treatment.
- Elastic stitches are used primarily for natural-based knitwear. In synthetic fibers or with a higher percentage of synthetic fibers, the adhesive of the lamination layer adheres better and the stitches are not needed. Power supply of heating surface is inconspicuously and aesthetically hidden in the clothing.
- the heat relieves tissue or muscle tension and helps oxygenation and blood flow, ultimately resulting in relief from especially menstrual pain, pain in the lower back or inflammation of the bladder or kidneys.
- FIG. 1 presents the view of abdominal and back part of the knitwear in the form of women’s bodysuit
- Fig. 2 presents the view of abdominal and back part of the knitwear in the form of knickers
- Fig. 3 is detail of heating surface with battery attached.
- Fig. 4a is the garment in the form of bodysuit with exposed knitwear on the wearer
- Fig. 4b is a cross section of the layers as it worn on the body with visible layers
- Fig. 4c is a garment without exposed knitwear on the wearer
- Fig. 4d is a cross section of the layers without exposed knitwear.
- Fig. 5 is abdominal part of knitwear of the knickers with the heating surface, elastic stitches and rubber band applied.
- Textile heating garment especially for relief of menstrual pain, consists of abdominal part 1 of the knitwear and back part 2 of the knitwear, where both of those parts 1 and 2 are provided with heating surface 3 consisting of conductive yarn 6 covered with laminating layer 4, where conductive yam 6 is connected to the supply of low-voltage electric current from the battery 5.
- Abdominal part 1 and back part 2 are provided with fixation element 7, which is a small pouch for battery 5 insertion, placed on both the abdominal part 1 of the knitwear and the back part 2 of the knitwear.
- Both abdominal part 1 of the knitwear and back part 2 of the knitwear have their whole surface covered with exposed knitwear 8.
- the heating surface 3 is located in between abdominal part 1 of the knitwear or back part 2 of the knitwear and exposed knitwear 8.
- Laminating layer’s 4 perimeter is provided with elastic stitches 9 for better fixation to abdominal part 1 of the knitwear and to back part 2 of the knitwear.
- Heating surface 3 in abdominal part 1 of the knitwear consists of conductive yearn 6, which is attached to textile abdominal part 1 of the knitwear using laminating layer 4. Heating surface 3 on abdominal part 1 of the knitwear thus warms through girl’s lower abdomen. Also the heating surface 3 in back part 2 of the knitwear consists of conductive yearn 6, which is attached to back part 2 of the knitwear using laminating layer 4. Heating surface 3 on the back part 2 of the knitwear thus warms through girl’s lower back. Warming occurs after insertion of the battery 5, which is connected to the conductive yam 6 using a magnetic contact.
- the abdominal part 1 of the knitwear and the back part 2 of the knitwear is provided with fixating element 7 in the form of pocket, into which the battery 5 is inserted and which lies in the place for battery 5 connection.
- Battery 5 is controlled either directly by the switch on the battery 5 or by mobile application, which allows to regulate the heating temperature and to monitor capacity of the battery 5.
- the laminating layer 4 is sewn all around with elastic stitches 9, which enhances its adherence to abdominal part 1 of the knitwear and to back part 2 of the knitwear.
- the abdominal part 1 of the knitwear and back part 2 of the knitwear are provided with exposed knitwear 8 on its whole surface.
- Battery 5 is inserted into pocked through the opening formed between abdominal part 1 of knitwear or back part 2 of knitwear and exposed knitwear 8.
- Example 2 A girl puts her normal clothes on bodysuit dressed like this. After disconnection of the battery 5 the bodysuit can be washed on a delicate wash cycle.

- Second inner parts of knitwear are cut, both abdominal part 1 and back part 2 of knitwear, and they are different for each size. During subsequent lamination shrinking occurs, and for that reason both parts 1 and 2 are enlarged by 5 to 15 %, so the laminated parts can be completed with parts without lamination after the end of lamination.
- Conductive yarn 6 on heating surface 3 is sewn into an ornament which covers places where the heating is desirable.
- a gap between the conductive yarn 6 of at least 1 cm is recommended. Ideally, 1 to 2 cm to ensure maximum fixation of the individual layers.
- the invention finds broad use in the textile industry as one of the methods, especially for girls suffering from menstrual pains, to eliminate or at least alleviate these pains with means that can be worn under normal clothes, are inconspicuous, comfortable and at the same time functional.
- Present invention can also find its use in sport activities to warm up blocked parts, especially the lower back area, or as an aid for body warming up in activities that are characterized by little physical activity at low temperatures, e.g. winter fishing.
