Description

A SYSTEM FOR PREVENTING FRAUD BY AUTHENTICATION
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a system for carrying out transaction by authentication in order to prevent fraud that may be experienced in case of loss or theft of credit/debit cards.
Background of the Invention
Today, card holders experience problems such as another user make payment by their missing card by using the contactless payment feature of the said card and card holders suffer financial loss until the lost credit/debit card is reported. On the other hand, upon the card is cancelled following the report of lost card, users also experience delay in their payments until they receive the new card after a new card request.
Therefore, there is need for a system which will prevent the card from being used by another user following the report of lost card and also enable the user to make payment by card in the period of time until the delivery of a new card.
The United States patent document no. US8781953B2, an application in the state of the art, discloses a system for online card management which is accessible by means of computer network.
Summary of the Invention The objective of the present invention is to realize a system for carrying out transaction by authentication in order to prevent fraud that may be experienced in case of loss or theft of credit/debit cards.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The “ System for Preventing Fraud by Authentication” realized to fulfil the obj ective of the present invention is shown in the figures attached, in which:

The inventive system (1) for carrying out transaction by authentication in order to prevent fraud that may be experienced in case of loss or theft of credit/debit cards comprises: at least one electronic device (2) which can run at least one application on itself and is configured to establish communication with remote servers by using any remote communication protocol; at least one application (3) which is run on the electronic device (2) and configured to report lost credit/debit card and to ensure that it is possible to continue to use the card by authentication following this report; at least one bank server (4) which is configured to ensure that transactions carried out after the report of lost credit/debit card belonging to the user are checked and an action is taken so as to give access to the lost card; at least one blockchain network (5) which is configured to ensure that the data related to the user’s identity information, the user’s card information, the reports of loss are kept under record; and at least one server (6) which is configured to ensure that the users’ reports of lost card are received; an authentication request is created when it is desired to carry out a transaction with the card information of the user after the report; the transaction is continued in the event that the authentication is successful and otherwise the transaction is cancelled; following the report of lost card, the last transaction point is determined and then communication is established with this point; and in the event that the new card or the old card is found, the card is delivered to the user.
The electronic device (2) included in the inventive system (1) is a device such as smartphone, tablet or mobile computer. The electronic device (2) is configured to run at least one application enabling users to report lost credit/debit card and to continue to use the card by authentication after this report. The said electronic device (2) is configured to establish connection with the server (6) by using any remote communication protocol included in the state of the art and to realize data exchange between the application (3) and the server (6) over this connection established. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the electronic device (2) is configured to realize data exchange with the server (6) by using Internet as a data bus.
The application (3) included in the inventive system (1) is run on the electronic device (2) and it is configured to realize data exchange with the server (6) over the communication established between the electronic device (2) and the server (6). The said application (3) is configured to ensure that a record is created with the users’ ID information and credit/debit card information. The application (3) is configured to enable users to report a loss for their credit/debit card in integration with operators and banks. The application (3) is configured to enable the user to choose by which method s/he wants to receive a report when it is aimed to carry out a physical or online transaction by the said card after the report of lost card. The application (3) is configured to display the related report in the event that it is desired to receive a report when it is aimed to carry out a physical or online transaction by the said card after the report of lost card. The application (3) is configured to ensure that authentication is made when it is aimed to carry out a physical or online transaction by the related card after the report of lost card. The bank server (4) included in the inventive system (1) is configured to establish communication with the server (6) by using any remote communication protocol included in the state of the art and to realize data exchange with the server (6) over this communication established. The bank server (4) is configured to ensure that all transactions carried out by the related card are monitored at the request of the server (6) after the report of lost card is received. The bank server (4) is configured to ensure that make an authentication at the request of the server (6) in transactions carried out by the lost card and in the event that the authentication is successful, the transaction is approved. The bank server (4) is configured to determine the last transaction point of the lost card at the request of the server (6) and to detect whether the card is located at the transaction point or not by calling the related transaction point automatically by the bank operator. The bank server (4) is configured to ensure that an action is taken to deliver the card to the user at the request of the server (6) if the lost card is at the related transaction point, and the user is informed. The bank server (4) is configured to ensure that a new car is issued and sent according to the request received from the server (6) belonging to the user who made the report of lost card.
The blockchain network (5) included in the inventive system (1) is in communication with the server (6) and is configured to be managed by the server (6). In one preferred arrangement of the invention, the blockchain network (5) is configured to ensure that reports of loss made together with the ID information and the credit/debit card information of the user, results of the transaction carried out by the card whereby a report of loss is made and the authentication of the transaction and reports stating that the lost card is found or the new card is delivered, are kept under record in itself in an distributed and encrypted way. The server (6) included in the inventive system (1) is configured to establish communication with the electronic device (2) by using any remote communication protocol and to realize data exchange with the application (3) that is run on the electronic device (2) over this communication established. The server (6) is configured to ensure that a report is transmitted to the user by means of the method of receiving report that s/he stated over the application (3) in the event that there is a request to carry out a transaction with the lost card. The server (6) is configured to request the bank server (4) make an authentication in transactions carried out by the lost card and if the authentication is successful, create a transaction approval. The server (6) is configured to ensure that the transaction is cancelled in the event that an authentication is not made within the specified time. The server (6) is configured to transmit request to the bank server (4) in order to determine whether the said card is still located there by this transaction point by determining the last transaction point of the lost card. The server (6) is configured to ensure that a report is presented to the user over the application (3) in the event that the lost card is located at the last transaction point. The server (6) is configured to request the bank server (4) to take an action in order that the card is delivered to the user physically in the event that it receives the information that the lost card is located at the last transaction point. In another embodiment of the invention, the server (6) is configured to request the bank server (4) to call the related transaction point automatically in order that the card is delivered to the user physically by the bank operator in the event that the lost card is located at the last transaction point, and to deliver the card to the user. The server (6) is configured to request the bank server (4) to issue a new card for the user reporting for a lost card and to deliver it to the user. The server (6) is configured to transmit a report to the bank server (4) that there is no need for authentication for transactions carried out by the card in the event that the user terminates the report of lost card.
Industrial applicability of the invention
With the inventive system (1), it is ensured that financial loss -that will to occur as a result of contactless transactions to be carried out by the cards of users who lost their credit/debit card- is prevented and financial transactions can be continued by means of authentication over the application (3) until the new card demanded for the cancelled card is received. The electronic device (2), application (3), bank server (4), the blockchain network (5) and the server (6) included in the inventive system (1) submit information and approval to the user in accordance with the principles of data privacy and they operate within the scope of the Law on Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).
Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop a wide variety of embodiments of the inventive “System for Preventing Fraud by Authentication (1)”; the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims.

Claims

CLAIMS A system (1) for carrying out transaction by authentication in order to prevent fraud that may be experienced in case of loss or theft of credit/debit cards; comprising at least one electronic device (2) which can run at least one application on itself and is configured to establish communication with remote servers by using any remote communication protocol; at least one application (3) which is run on the electronic device (2) and configured to report lost credit/debit card and to ensure that it is possible to continue to use the card by authentication following this report; at least one bank server (4) which is configured to ensure that transactions carried out after the report of lost credit/debit card belonging to the user are checked and an action is taken so as to give access to the lost card; at least one blockchain network (5) which is configured to ensure that the data related to the user’s identity information, the user’s card information, the reports of loss are kept under record; and characterized by at least one server (6) which is configured to ensure that the users’ reports of lost card are received; an authentication request is created when it is desired to carry out a transaction with the card information of the user after the report; the transaction is continued in the event that the authentication is successful and otherwise the transaction is cancelled; following the report of lost card, the last transaction point is determined and then communication is established with this point; and in the event that the new card or the old card is found, the card is delivered to the user.

A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to ensure that a report is transmitted to the user by means of the method of receiving report that s/he stated over the application (3) in the event that there is a request to carry out a transaction with the lost card. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to request the bank server (4) make an authentication in transactions carried out by the lost card and if the authentication is successful, create a transaction approval. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to ensure that the transaction is cancelled in the event that an authentication is not made within the specified time.
13 A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to transmit request to the bank server (4) in order to determine whether the said card is still located there by this transaction point by determining the last transaction point of the lost card. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to ensure that a report is presented to the user over the application (3) in the event that the lost card is located at the last transaction point. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to request the bank server (4) to take an action in order that the card is delivered to the user physically in the event that it receives the information that the lost card is located at the last transaction point. A system (1) according to any of Claim 1 to 34; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to request the bank server (4) to call the related transaction point automatically in order that the card is delivered to the user physically by the bank operator in the event that the lost card is located at the last transaction point, and to deliver the card to the user. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to request the bank server (4) to issue a new card for the user reporting for a lost card and to deliver it to the user. A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims; characterized by the server (6) which is configured to transmit a report to the bank server (4) that there is no need for authentication for transactions carried out by the card in the event that the user terminates the report of lost card.
