Definitions
- the subject of the invention relates to a skin product comprising the extract of the plant Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea (Boiss.) Grierson, which inhibits the growth of pathogenic microorganisms in the product where it is added and which does not deteriorate the skin health owing to being natural.
- the skin is an important part of the body, which protects the internal organs from the external mechanical, chemical and biological effects by separating the internal organs from the external environment, contains the natural moisturizing factors such as free amino acids, carboxylic acid, sugars, urea, ammonia, uric acid, keratin, calcium, magnesium, phosphate, citrate and chloride enabling the regulation of the water balance of the skin and the preservation of the elastic structure and natural flora of the skin by drawing from the atmosphere the water in a quantity that is 3-4 times their weight, and is capable of self-repair through the production of collagen and protein.
- the natural moisturizing factors such as free amino acids, carboxylic acid, sugars, urea, ammonia, uric acid, keratin, calcium, magnesium, phosphate, citrate and chloride enabling the regulation of the water balance of the skin and the preservation of the elastic structure and natural flora of the skin by drawing from the atmosphere the water in a quantity that is 3-4 times their weight, and is
- the natural structure of the skin may be disrupted.
- the disinfectants which are applied to the skin in order to eliminate the pathogenic microorganisms, and/or the dry air cause/s the reduction of the natural moisturizing factors in the skin, and thus, the reduction of the water content of the skin and the reduction of the production of the lipids with skin moisturizing action.
- the loss of water causes the dry skin and the itching, exfoliation and cracking develop in the dry skin.
- the disruption of the moisture balance of the skin the number of the beneficial microorganisms in the skin flora decreases, the balance of the flora becomes disrupted and the infections develop in the skin.
- the skin products with at least one of the properties of moisturizing, soothing, repair, firming and the like are used for the purpose of preserving the natural structure of the skin.
- These products comprise the antimicrobial preservatives intended to inhibit the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms such as mold, yeast and bacteria, which would impair the activity of the product.
- the skin products used in the state of the art comprise the synthetic and/or semi-synthetic antimicrobial preservatives.
- Such preservatives have the cell viability-reducing effects and the carcinogenic effects.
- the conventional skin products comprise, in addition to the antimicrobial preservatives, a separate natural or synthetic or semi-synthetic skin care agent for each action desired so that said products may provide the additional actions such as moisturizing the skin, repairing the skin by enhancing cell viability, and firming the skin.
- a separate natural or synthetic or semi-synthetic skin care agent for each action desired so that said products may provide the additional actions such as moisturizing the skin, repairing the skin by enhancing cell viability, and firming the skin.
- the skin products are needed, comprising a natural agent, which inhibits the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms in the skin care products without deteriorating the skin health and which even strengthens the skin with more than one action it provides.
- a skin product comprising the extract of the plant Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea, a plant endemic to the Mediterranean Region of our country, which inhibits, owing to its antimicrobial property, the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms in the product and thus enables the product to exhibit long-lasting action, does not damage the skin, and even further, strengthens the skin owing to its antioxidant/cell viability-enhancing/repair properties in addition to the antimicrobial property, has been developed within the scope of the invention. It thus becomes possible to obtain a product, which provides multiple actions owing to the single agent it comprises, and to confer each of said actions simultaneously to the skin via the use of a single product.
- An object of the invention is to develop a skin- and environment-friendly skin product, which comprises the natural Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea extract, is free of synthetic or semi-synthetic preservatives and does not deteriorate the skin health while inhibiting the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms.
- Another object of the invention is to develop a skin product, via which all of the antioxidant/cell viability-enhancing/repair actions, in addition to the antimicrobial action, are achieved with a single ingredient.
- Another object of the invention is to develop an economical skin product, which, as a single product, provides multiple benefits to the skin and thus eliminates the consumers' requirement to use more than product.
- Another object of the invention is to enable the natural Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea plant with antimicrobial, antioxidant, cell viability-enhancing and skin-strengthening actions to be used in the skin products and thus provide a new field of use for the Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea plant.

Description
SKIN PRODUCT COMPRISING ANTHEMIS ROSEA SUBSP. CARNEA (BOISS.) GRIERSON
EXTRACT
Subject of the Invention
The subject of the invention relates to a skin product comprising the extract of the plant Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea (Boiss.) Grierson, which inhibits the growth of pathogenic microorganisms in the product where it is added and which does not deteriorate the skin health owing to being natural.
State of the Art
The skin is an important part of the body, which protects the internal organs from the external mechanical, chemical and biological effects by separating the internal organs from the external environment, contains the natural moisturizing factors such as free amino acids, carboxylic acid, sugars, urea, ammonia, uric acid, keratin, calcium, magnesium, phosphate, citrate and chloride enabling the regulation of the water balance of the skin and the preservation of the elastic structure and natural flora of the skin by drawing from the atmosphere the water in a quantity that is 3-4 times their weight, and is capable of self-repair through the production of collagen and protein.
Due to the continuous contact during a day with many surfaces on which pathogenic microorganisms accumulate, with air and with water, the natural structure of the skin may be disrupted. The disinfectants, which are applied to the skin in order to eliminate the pathogenic microorganisms, and/or the dry air cause/s the reduction of the natural moisturizing factors in the skin, and thus, the reduction of the water content of the skin and the reduction of the production of the lipids with skin moisturizing action. The loss of water causes the dry skin and the itching, exfoliation and cracking develop in the dry skin. Upon the disruption of the moisture balance of the skin, the number of
the beneficial microorganisms in the skin flora decreases, the balance of the flora becomes disrupted and the infections develop in the skin.
The skin products with at least one of the properties of moisturizing, soothing, repair, firming and the like are used for the purpose of preserving the natural structure of the skin. These products comprise the antimicrobial preservatives intended to inhibit the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms such as mold, yeast and bacteria, which would impair the activity of the product. The skin products used in the state of the art comprise the synthetic and/or semi-synthetic antimicrobial preservatives. Such preservatives have the cell viability-reducing effects and the carcinogenic effects. Thus, contrary to the expectation that they would support, repair and strengthen the skin, the skin products, since they contain such preservatives, lead to the loss of skin cells and to the disruption of the natural flora and moisture balance of the skin, i.e. the structure of the skin, especially when applied to the sensitive and vulnerable skin. Moreover, the conventional skin products comprise, in addition to the antimicrobial preservatives, a separate natural or synthetic or semi-synthetic skin care agent for each action desired so that said products may provide the additional actions such as moisturizing the skin, repairing the skin by enhancing cell viability, and firming the skin. This causes an increase in the production costs and in the product costs. Consequently, the skin products are needed, comprising a natural agent, which inhibits the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms in the skin care products without deteriorating the skin health and which even strengthens the skin with more than one action it provides.
In order to meet the mentioned need, a skin product comprising the extract of the plant Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea, a plant endemic to the Mediterranean Region of our country, which inhibits, owing to its antimicrobial property, the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms in the product and thus enables the product to exhibit long-lasting action, does not damage the skin, and even further, strengthens the skin owing to its antioxidant/cell viability-enhancing/repair properties in addition to the antimicrobial property, has been developed within the scope of the invention. It thus becomes possible to obtain a product, which provides multiple actions owing to the single agent it comprises, and to confer each of said actions simultaneously to the skin via the use of a single product. Owing to the natural fragrance of the plant extract,
there is no need to use a separate essence. As a result, the production and the use of the skin products comprising the extract of the plant Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea become more economical for the manufacturers and the consumers, compared to the conventional skin products.
Object of the Invention
An object of the invention is to develop a skin- and environment-friendly skin product, which comprises the natural Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea extract, is free of synthetic or semi-synthetic preservatives and does not deteriorate the skin health while inhibiting the growth of the pathogenic microorganisms.
Another object of the invention is to develop a skin product, via which all of the antioxidant/cell viability-enhancing/repair actions, in addition to the antimicrobial action, are achieved with a single ingredient.
Another object of the invention is to develop an economical skin product, which, as a single product, provides multiple benefits to the skin and thus eliminates the consumers' requirement to use more than product.
Another object of the invention is to enable the natural Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea plant with antimicrobial, antioxidant, cell viability-enhancing and skin-strengthening actions to be used in the skin products and thus provide a new field of use for the Anthemis rosea subsp. carnea plant.
